hello all... awin is legit, he has both books...he lives about 40 minutes from me, and I have tried for over a year to get him to just sell me the tec 28...but apparently, he will only do as a pair... I won't pull the trigger for fr/gd copies at that price (he is slightly overgraded, but have had it down as low as $10,500 for the pair, I believe)...the 28 is missing bottom left corner and bottom right corner through out the book, likely a fr to fr/gd ... I am much happier with a restored 8.0 at that price! rick The Detective 28 has one of the defects I hate way too much to consider. I agree, the price seems way too high.

I'm not sure whether that post was being facetious or not, but as someone who's made a living as a contrarian, I agree 100%. I wouldn't be buying a Detective #28-#37 right now with someone else's money (much less my own). I couldn't agree more. I will wait till the craze dies and the next one starts (Action War Covers) and pick them up then.

Speaking of fantastic covers....this "pair of blue jeans" arrived today.. Bill, you are THE MAN, sweet pick-up. Captain AMerica 1 is high on my want list and that looks like a sweet copy!

Would it make you cry if I told you I paid ~ $300 under guide even with the 15% juice? It made me happy. Another book on my want list for more than 10 years that I can finally mark off. I thought you snagged a copy of it?

That book was on my want list for a long time. A clean copy showed up in Heritage's auction a while back and I snagged it.

There are actually several Batmans and Detectives from Canada (Batman 59 has been around a few times). I believe there was a Batman 2 as well. I started picking them up just becasue they are different. I never looked at the two side by side until these pictures and that was when I saw the difference.

Well, I finally got a little time to take a few pics of some of my junk. Please note one key thing, the two copies of Batman 54 are different, the 6.5 is the Canadian version and the 8.5 is the US version. Note that teh Canadian version only has two billboards on the wall!

I will go with the Tec, I have always liked David Letterman, and this being his first cover appearance and all... @rap, now that everyone knows about the Letterman cover it will cost some serious buck to buy

Definitely MM2, always liked the Angel and who knows, maybe a 9.2 on the next submission.
