  1. Kudos to Filter81 for the "Frankenstein" Golden Age Green Lantern #5!!!! Thanks!
  2. BREATHLESS (1983), starring Richard Gere Gere reads a Silver Surfer comic (not sure which one, haven't seen the movie in ages) out loud to his co-star Valérie Kaprisky and gets into an argument with a kid about the SS.
  3. Nope, trust me, it's real. I'm sure I'll upgrade in the future, but for now, it's enough. How can it be cheating? If I had bought an Action #1 and said that I now own one of those, too, would that have been cheating? I now own a JLA #1; it's low grade, but it's real.
  4. Got this in the mail a couple of days ago. Coverless and in rough shape, but I own a JLA #1 now!
  5. Kudos to kiltman for a Hulk 182 that filled a gap in my collection! Thanks!
  6. Honestly? No. But there may be some interest. I've found that they help fill gaps with minimal cost. It satisfies the frugal completist in you (if you have one). What do you have?
  7. Got a coverless SA Green Lantern #1 in the mail today from Johnny G. Thanks, John!
  8. Kudos to Johnny G for the coverless SA Green Lantern #1. It got here today! Thanks!
  9. Excellent! Thanks for accepting my offer. I look forward to getting it and adding it to my collection.
  10. Kudos to ComicSupply for a great sale this week. I was able to fill in a lot of gaps here and there in my collection. Can't beat getting an Iron Man vol. 1 #71 and an Avengers vol. 1 #52 for $1.94 each. Thanks for having the sale during the week. I work a lot on weekends and am not always able to (or want to, depending how much I've worked) get online on the weekends.
  11. No, I didn't mean that as "Yours is low-grade, I want a low-grade copy, too", I meant that as, "Congratulations on getting one, I hope to get a low grade copy myself in the future." Sorry.
  12. Nice Hulk, divad. Hoping to get a low-grade one myself.
  13. Nice JLA, GL, and FF books. Those are three of my favorite titles.
  14. No, not yet, but I did look at the first page when I took it out of the holder and scanned it. Can't do much sequential FF reading since I don't have any of the next 24 issues.
  15. Thanks, man, I appreciate it! I think I'm still in shock that I actually own one. It all happened so fast (including the delivery - Jim mailed it Wednesday afternoon, next day was Thanksgiving, today - BAM! It's mine!). Dang right it's a great book to have in any condition! I've never been in the position to get even so much as a coverless one (not that I've ever seen one offered, but you know what I mean....)!!
  16. Thanks! I won't be able to top this one for quite some time, which is why I've posted it in what, 3 different threads on here? I didn't think I'd have a chance to own one of these for years and years, but I was in the right place at the right time and had the money. Now if I could just chase down the pesky modern issues in my signature, I'd be good to go.
  17. Got this from fellow board member jimm94 in the mail TODAY (Friday). Can't beat a day like this...day off from work...plenty of leftovers from yesterday so I don't have to leave the apt....AND this was hand-delivered to me by our mail carrier. Merry Christmas to me, Merry Christmas to me, I now own an FF #1, Merry Christmas to me!!!
  18. That's right, buster, and it only took me what, a couple of hours after I'd already picked up the box of comics to realize that I already owned one of them. Ain't no flies on me! BIG Silver-age kudos to jimm94 for a "Fantastic" price on his FF #1. Wow. Can't believe I own a copy of this now!!!!
