  1. I agree - great books, keep 'em coming!! I've never researched WW covers, so most of these are new for me. Thanks!!!
  2. I agree on the "What If" issues, I really enjoyed them (and I wasn't even a Conan fan, I just loved that series). I remember him keeping the coins and throwing away the paper money, and his battle w/ Captain America is great, esp. when Cap throws his shield and breaks Conan's sword ("Crom and Y'mir!"), and Conan slicing through Cap's shoulder at the end. Great story. I would recommend the collections of Howard's original stories to anyone, whether you're a Conan fan or not. Good writing is good writing, period. You can probably get them through your local library (that's where I found the one I read; I plan to read the others eventually) and it won't cost you anything. I've never seen that album or those paperbacks, thanks to everyone for sharing the pics. Makes me want to look for some the next time I'm in one of the local used bookstores. I saw the Dark Horse TPB in B&N over the weekend. Did anyone pick it up? Just wondering how it is.
  3. Rick, congrats on completing your run of WW. Great-looking books, thanks for sharing!!
  4. AA 16. I don't collect Suspense, either, and a full run of Golden-Age GL is one of my "hopefully someday" dream runs. I'd take the AA in a heartbeat.
  5. Just curious, how much do pulps w/ Conan stories in them tend to run?
  6. No, never read them, although I've been curious. My LCS has some back issues of the magazines, but they are more than I'd like to spend for reading material. If I could find some cheap, I might be interested, but it's not a priority.
  7. I posted earlier this year about the original pulp stories when I finished reading a collection of some of them. I hope to read the rest at some point. Great stories, but I've never been interested in collecting the comics.
  8. Wow, gorgeous books, congratulations!! Thanks for sharing. I read "Wonder Woman: The Complete History" by Les Daniels over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Great book, very well written, w/ plenty of pics of old covers and old WW collectibles. I'd recommend it to anyone who's a superhero comic fan.
  9. I'd choose the Flash #1. All things being equal, I'd just rather own that comic than Batman #1. I've never collected Batman, so I just wouldn't be interested. Sure would be weird to own a comic that's worth more than my HOUSE.
  10. The Thing (always been my favorite) The Hulk Cap/DD/Iron Man
  11. Thanks! I appreciate the great prices you gave me on the issues that you'd upgraded. I was hoping to finish the run by the end of the year, and I was able to do it a month early!
  12. Got this in the mail on Wednesday. Not pretty, BUT...this is the LAST Silver Age Green Lantern comic I needed to complete the entire run. Woo hoo!!! Thanks to everyone who helped me in my quest, whether it was through helping me find issues I needed (and much thanks go to Zonker here) or through just encouraging me to continue in my quest. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
  13. Juggy in short shorts is almost as disturbing as Greggy. Could be worse. He could be wearing a thong. "I'm the JuggerThong, beeyochhhhhhh...."
  14. Oh man, you stink....uh, ahem, I mean, uh, hey, congratulations! Nice grab!
  15. Just keep focusing on how much you absolutely cannot STAND to own a book that has all that ugly, nasty, detracting tape on all those pages. *sigh* Evidently, yes, that's what it's for.
  16. I own a Golden Age GL #5 that has a fake cover. I do hope to own the entire run someday. I want to own them more from a historical perspective than anything else (as opposed to thinking that the storylines are going to blow me away ). Those little pieces of comic history can have a high pricetag sometimes, though, so I'll have to do a little bit at a time.
  17. Oh man, that's one of my DREAM runs to own (the Golden Age GL title). So far I own only one issue (thanks to a fellow forumite, no less) and I'm trying to get Zonker to sell me one that he has but doesn't like because of all the tape on the pages (that the seller didn't tell him about). I'd love to own the full run someday, and hopefully I will. And yes, I've been working on the GL run for quite a while. I'm trying to get full runs of a lot of different titles, so it's been tough to focus on just one. It just worked out where that's the title that I had the fewest number of issues left to get the full run, so I decided to concentrate on finishing it. I was hoping to finish it by the end of the year, but here it is mid-November and I'm nearly done! Let's see, what's next....
  18. Thanks! Although it won't really be done until I have #6 in my hands. Paranoid? Who, me? Thanks for the congratulations. It's been a long time coming, and GL has always been my favorite DC character.
  19. Nice Cap issue, nikos! I got this in the mail today. After this one, I have only ONE more before I have completed a full run of the Silver Age GL title. Technically, I need to get Showcase 22 and 24 to have the "full" full run, but this will do for now. I won the last issue I need on ebay yesterday, and I'm waiting for the seller to return an e-mail about the shipping charge. Once I get it in my hands, I'll cross it off my list and the run will be done!
  20. Reader copy, but it's one of the last THREE issues I needed for a full run of the Silver Age GL title. I hit a BIN for #8 on ebay recently, and it's supposed to be on the way, but I don't mark things off my wantlist until I have them in my hands. Only two left!
  21. Sure we can, any time we want to. We just don't want to.
