  1. Often referred to as 'wife-beater' due to its high alcohol % Usually drunk in copious amounts by chav wankers.

As I understand it his email server has crashed leaving him with a heap of data to re-install from back-up. Add that to thousands of books to press then he's very busy. He's been responding via PM - but Joey is often too busy too reply for a day or two. Don't worry, he will get back to you soon. You can always call - Sandra is very helpful. Just a very busy time I'm afraid, give it a day or two.
  3. Great read. Highly recommended indeed. Hope the show is half as good!
  4. Thanks Jimmers! Sandman #1 - 1st Morpheus - new Netflix series of Sandman is being filmed as we speak. I already had a 9.8 of #1 and was debating wether to let it go with the usual pre-series interest, but this has made it easy. Keep one, move the other on. It wasn't cheap, but was certainly very fair. The other is Sandman Mystery Theatre #1 sketched and signed by Guy Davis which was added with the Sandman. So yeah, good timing (and a lot of luck!)
  5. Safe to say the drought has been broken! Happy Vertigo Day! Great motivated seller, great prices and a terrific time chatting comics. Full runs of : Old Man Logan Dead Man Logan Transmetropolitan The Dreaming Lucifer Doomsday Clock Heaps of mini-series, TPB's and hardcover books, Heavy Metal etc - plus Batman 'The Master Race' is the Hardcover box set. And 2 very nice 9.8 slabs.....one of which was a very timely find! Seller had another 6 shortboxes which I will buy when he wants to let go. It had been a long spell of poor leads, long drives and timewasters, so pleased to have a nice score.
  6. TTA #52 and hope Nathan Garrett turns up in The Black Knight movie series. Can't see how he won't.
  7. @Cruzin' Thru Comics if you have a WP Batman #357 CGC 9.8 on your wall - I'll be your first customer!
  8. So, comics. Anything happening with Red Star? Had 2 copies sitting doing nothing since January - both sold today to different buyers. Been a movie option for ages - something moved forward? (probably as they were the only 2 I had!)
  9. Nothing special, but after the dry spell recently I'm happy with anything! 68 Mad Magazines (with a few 'collectors' issues) and 33 Heavy Metal from the 1980's. Total cost $60 AUD ( $40 USD)
  10. Ruby Rose is not, and never will be, Australia's greatest contributor to the world of acting. Probably her best was in Orange is the new black, but she really is very poor in everything else I have seen (local stuff) I will seriously have a hard time believing she can hold a major show together - especially as the lead. She's the Arrowverse's Fish Mooney
  11. I work with a lot of Phillipino staff - they literally cannot wait to get a working visa for Australia - and they send as much 80% of their wages home to support their spouse and children until they can get citizenship. It's not unusual for 4 of the assigned 6 theatre staff to be from Asia - the money is that good compared to what they get at home. So ebay jobs are one of the best they can hope for at 'home' - but still pay so much less than most would imagine. The average pay in the phillipines is $16,000 - $17,000 USD and in Vietnam its only $14,000 USD. Or a 2.0/2.5 AF #15.....
  12. You got the whole run? Congrats! The cheap paper was always a killer on these. Care to share any pictures please?
  13. I loved those Terrific's as a kid - could find them anywhere in the 70's and 80's - now, nowhere to be seen. Great fun comics!
  14. It is outsourced to the Phillipines and Vietnam, so these jobs are highly sought after. The phone guys and gals are literally drones with no allowance of free thinking at all. They literally repeat scripted responses so you will go away, do the easy thing and complete the transaction to get ebay their commission. That is their job, they are a human firewall. Ignore them - ask to speak to a supervisor, stay on the line and refuse to leave. Get the supervisors name (they will use their first name only, so ask for the first letter of their surname) - and make sure it is clear that you are doing so because you will go over THEIR head to their boss (Supervisory staff - line assistant manager) - if you are not happy. It sounds harsh but focuses their mind. The Supervisors jobs are very well paid for the country they live in and offer their whole family a good standard of living. They are literally like gold and no-one want to lose them. Then give them an easy way out. If you do X,Y and Z, I will be happy and leave positive comments in your performance feedback form (which is always sent to you once supervisors get involved). If you are in the right, then you will be fine. They won't side with you if you are wrong, but will listen, read messages, view photos etc and actually review the case. If you are in the right - you usually win.
  15. The modern forum is officially dead.
  16. cross-over posts! So the CC has not yet been refunded? Sweet - you got this buddy! Paypal will side with you - I had the exact same thing happen to me - but only after 25 days.Ebay sided with buyer, paypal with me. Paypal trumps ebay. The end.
  17. In September, over 3 months after the eBay transaction, the Buyer files a complaint claim with their credit card company through Pay Pal for their money back, as a chargeback claiming "item not as described" but claiming the full amount paid for the 2 items and shipping in total. @Stat Monsters can you clarify exactly the process here - who notified you of the charge back request and where was the 'item not as described' filed. I'm reading this currently as CC has refunded buyer. Paypal is considering refunding CC.Buyer then has $ and items. Is that correct? If so, call Paypal. I have NEVER heard of a single instance where paypal will let a buyer keep $ and merchandise without sellers express permission. A return of goods has always been part of the process. I am overseas though, so I concede that your system may differ slightly and Poka is correct. I'd be amazed though regardless if paypal did not insist on return of goods (at your expense no doubt) before making the CC whole.
  18. How on earth do you jump to that conclusion? He is still within the 180 day period to contest the charge-back - the claim was made VIA paypal for the charge-back. He has a very very strong chance of winning this. The claimant has offered no proof and at one point offered to drop the issue completely. He just needs the right paypal rep, and needs to keep calling until he finds one. Good luck @Stat Monsters
  19. The search function sucks so if anyone has a link to the original thread... Am I correct in thinking the FCBD issue is regarded as the first appearance of the Academy - the characters Mom, Dad and #1 - #7 + Pogo etc are all in this issue? - the slab is just labelled 1st Umbrella Academy by CGC. So many UA books flying around. Buy now, or wait until after season 2? Personal collection book, not a flip (loved the TV show, not read the comic just in case not as fun) Thanks for your help
  20. Pretty steady 2 yr slide - once the 2k average is broken, next resistance point is probably $1500 9.8 TWD #1 Blue Label - ave $2029 (90 day)
  21. I was full of optimism - even with the fuel storyline (I thought they has REFINED fuel ie Petrol) hidden, not Oil? However doing a father Gabriel Part deux in a separate show was just plain lazy. Sloppy. Pathetic. Sad. Downright insulting to the few remaining viewers. A man of god with his dead flock. Who cares how they died - when you repeat identical stories in seperate shows - you are done. Even "handsome Dwight" - as amusing as it was, could not remove the stink of death for this entire franchise. The writers et al are burnt out. The franchise is burnt out. The whole thing needs to end and have a re-boot 2-3 yrs down the line with a new location and cast. Throw the Rick movies on cable and have done with it all. What a real shame - but to greenlight this identical episode was the end.
