Just landed. More Elias!

One of the nicest guys in the biz. This past summer at the con in Charlotte, I was browsing at the Bedrock booth when I realized that I had misplaced a bag of books (actually, my wife misplaced them! ) and as I was in mid meltdown, Richard couldn't have been nicer or more concerned. He was a big help in keeping me calmed down. Long story short, the books were recovered. One of which was a book that had eluded me for years. It wasn't super expensive, but there were a couple of costly pre code horror comics in the bag, also. I came back to Richard's booth just to let him know that the books were found and ended up buying a book from him, as well. Thanks again for the hospitality.

This beauty is headed my way.

Picked these up off the fleabay a few days ago.

I sat down to pee twice last night.

I remember catching some of the Flash Gordon serials on Matinee At The Bijou. I would always tune in to PBS to watch. It was pretty cool to have a show in the early ‘80’s that tried to replicate the movie going experience of the 30’s-40’s.

Anyone halfway serious about the hobby probably ceased using the guide for price points as the bay gained traction. Maybe it still is valuable to the dealer crowd for non key issues? I suppose it’s part nostalgia, but I still enjoy the guide. All the beautiful photos collected in one book are worth the price to me. I waffled on the cover this time, but ended up with the HC Gaines tribute version.

Glad to have a copy back in the fold. I bought a 7.5 here on the boards from @Hiboumany years ago. I sold it just before the recent boom. Always regretted letting that one go. This one takes the place and looks good for the grade, I think.

Won these a few days ago on the bay.

My haul from the Heroes con in NC. Had an awesome time and met some great folks. Picked up books that I needed and one in particular that has eluded me until now! I have more con pics posted over in the events section.

Pt 2

Finally getting around to posting some pics. First up are books from a few independent creators. The X-men #5 is lower grade, but presents beautifully. It came from Richard at Bedrock’s booth. Super nice guy. It was nice to put some faces with names. The Picture Parade is a book that I have been trying to land for years. Atomic age goodness! Added to my Lee Elias books with another one that I’ve wanted for quite some time. Lastly, some Ghost Rider numbers that I needed for my early run. They came from Harley Yee and Dale Roberts. Enjoy the pics!

Had a great time at the con. Found some great books. I hope to have some pics posted tomorrow. After driving back most of the day, I’m beat. I hope everyone that went had an enjoyable time!

No on the Vengeance 2. Sorry. But to be fair, I’ve spent the bulk of my day looking at Golden age books and a lot of the independent stuff.

About to walk over, also. Can’t wait to see all the goodies!

I’ll be there all 3 days. My wife and son are attending with me. My son is in college and I don’t get to spend a great deal of time with him these days, so hopefully it’ll be a nice weekend. I don’t know any of you guys but I’m sure some of you will be taking my money.
