  1. That's a totally awesome cover! Kind of reminds me of the Sensation #92 from the grail thread. Very, very sharp and rarely seen.
  2. Watch out, guys, eBay seller "yarecity" (aka W. Uthe) has just listed some pretty nice issues of Amazing-Man. Be very careful with those.
  3. I'm saying it was a good deal without knowing either the condition of your new copy or the price you paid. Sweet book.
  4. Ok, we've got a 3-3 tie on the 'Tec #2 vs. the Mystery Men #1, and I'm no more convinced on my mild MM vote than I was before reading the explanations. Anyone else have a strong feeling on this one?
  5. Here's a comparison of rarely seen early GA books, a low grade 'Tec #2 vs. the Windy City Mystery Men #1 (2nd highest graded copy) whose page quality includes the phrase "light tan". Which would you choose? I'm going back and forth on this one. I think I'm leaning towards the Fox book, but could be swayed the other way.
  6. No kidding! Maybe I should just collect photocopies....
  7. Hey Dennis, want to come out to the Western suburbs for drinks with Andy, Alan, and I sometime?? We're overdue.
  8. Neat cover. Is that lady wishing that someone would come in while she's in her lingerie? Or is she seeing the future (being Claire Voyant and all)?
  9. No, you can keep the 13. I can find another 13. It's the 27 I'm after....
  10. Holy smokes! That's gorgeous! How in God's name did you train your wife so well???
  11. I've got a 40 I'd happily trade to him, but I think he'd balk at the price (despite me losing BIG TIME from Overstreet's perspective).
  12. I like that one too, but I'll confess, I've never quite gotten the joke. Is it that she expects the camper to have a cellar? Is it relevant that they are heading to NYC? And why so fast?
  13. Personally, I think New Adventure #15 and #17 are every bit as tough as #13. I also think #27 is tougher than Ian's infamous #26.
  14. I don't know if anything will sell, but I'm listing a pre-Batman 'Tec, a Silver Streak #1, a 1939 New York World's Fair, some Centaurs (including a rare Funny Pages Arrow cover), and a bunch of #1's (including Slam-Bang #1, Nickel Comics #1, Feature Funnies #1, and DC's Movie Comics #1). Of course, I might get too tired and not finish the listings. That's quite possible....
  15. Is anyone planning on trying to sell stuff in the Virtual Comic Com they're setting up tomorrow in the marketplace? I just heard about it. Is it crazy for me to think about listing some Centaur dupes and other early GA things like that, or is it likely to be a Silver/Bronze thing, and that kind of stuff either wouldn't fit in or would get lost?
  16. Those are brutally tough books (and in much nicer shape than mine! as usual). I think those are two of the 10 hardest early GA DC's to find, along with some of the New Adventures. Beautiful!
  17. 1985??!?! Good lord. Definitely tell the story when you get a chance!
  18. Yup, that's one of the classics. Not quite as scarce as Gerber says (I think he may have listed it as an 8), but still very desirable. Good job!!
  19. Nice!!!! But you've got to get those ugly Fantastics out of your beautiful Spirit collection! I've got an idea on how you can accomplish that. PM me for details.
  20. It's no worse than the eye-shadow the gorilla is wearing ... Ahhhhh gorilla O......k...... I'm just gonna leave you and gorilla alone for a little while. I'll be back later.
  21. Or better yet, set your money on fire and PRETEND you slabbed it and then cracked it out. That way you don't have the hassle of shipping.
