  1. He sold it. What he's referring to as a "publish" date appears to be just the copyright date of the trademark image on the back cover (as far as I can tell). :eye roll: I can check the actual copyright date of the coloring book later today (if anyone cares).
  2. I haven't been able to find one single copy in 6 months of looking. There are quite a few books that you think no one knows/cares about that I can't locate despite looking at dozens of stores, cons, etc.... My first level look didn't turn up a copy - there's been no reason to pull it (before now). Gonna have to move some long-boxes tomorrow.
  3. I agree - I couldn't give my copy away a couple of years back.
  4. It won't. The thing that amazes me the most about this book is it isn't even the first appearance of the character(obviously she originated in the cartoon.) yeah it is kind of amazing the way comic collectors brush aside non-comic appearances. Tell me how to slab a cartoon episode, and I'll get right on it. Don't be dense. It's not a question of slabbing. It's a question of valuation - as in a four figure price for a comic that did NOT introduce her to the world is silly. I get that it's the first comic so it's what comic collectors will go for, but to me there is a significant difference between a first appearance of a character that starts in comics versus a "first comic appearance." The market disagrees with me and that's fine, but I can still think it's silly I think it's kinda silly that 32-page pamphlets of hand-drawn cartoons about fictional characters with super-powers attract any attention at all . . .
  5. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that CL's ad blurb is R-rated?
  6. We do? This is an awful lot of pumping for one book . . .
  7. The only Zeck piece I'd ever consider superior would be Cap Annual #8. Otherwise, this is the king. Right on. For the uninitiated:
  8. Which is the chance you take when you don't price your books high enough. Seems like great prices to me compared to a year ago. Certainly. I think his point was the short term, i.e., last week.
  9. Yep, I think relevance was his point in the first place.
  10. Which is the chance you take when you don't price your books high enough.
  11. X-Force #2? Sure, this is now paying off well to everyone that held that book for 23 years. What's the rate of return on the original investment after holding a worthless book for 23 years until someone actually cares? I don't know about you, but I prefer my flips a little bit quicker than that. This statement pretty much sums it up.
  12. People don't know where to look though. How many times do we see people paying higher in auctions than BINs available? There certainly is a fairly high tax for stupidity. I just wouldn't confuse that for an accurate reflection of FMV. I have an almost allergic reaction to shop variants, in particular, as it's the worst example of the "manufactured collectible" aspect of the hobby. That being said, if I have a choice between $25 for the true first appearance of what could end up being a very key character (EoSV 2), or this shop variant, featuring her second cover appearance...um, gee, well...let's just say it's not a close call here. They're both stoopid, and will be worth nothing this time next year.
  13. re: Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel, Eddie Brock/Venom, Jim Rhodes/War Machine, etc. Well, I'm not sure that's his point (although it IS the title of his thread) . . .
  14. With plenty of room to climb. (thumbs u No. Her shadow is in Batman and Robin # 17.

  16. Exactly. I don't think that price is out of line at all, assuming it truly is a NM+ copy. Closer to 9.2 me thinks, but still a nice copy:
