  1. That's hilarious - I have the original: Patsy Walker 121
  2. That's our very own Ace's, is it not? (Sold my copies, way too early . . . obviously.)
  3. Yep, a familiar story (unfortunately).
  4. "read somwhere that that test tube was just coincidence" link or proof please... Really sounds like too much of a coinky-dinky to me . . . It is too much of a coincidence. Whoever created the physical female form of X-23 really knew wolverines backstory and pulled " X-23" directly out of wolverine # 80, I don't see how it could have happened any other way. Just FYI, X-23 was created for the TV show X-Men Evolution. The episode was written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost. Neither of these guys wrote NYX #3, but they both wrote 'X-23' (2005), her first ongoing series which developed her backstory and origin. As you say, It's highly unlikely they pulled the number 23 out of thin air. It's hard to think that anyone could remember a single, throwaway panel, but these guys would have done their homework. It's a cool little retrospective easter egg if you're an X-23 fan. I've never read anything with X-23, but perhaps "23" refers to the number of pairs of chromosomes in human DNA, and is therefore not a random number being selected. (Also note that the 23rd pair is what determines sex; a female has two Xs and a male a Y and an X.) Which even makes it cooler . . . (thumbs u
  5. Why did you mess up a perfectly good comic book?

For the record, I still think its dumb that the book is selling for more than a few bucks, whats the print run? 150k? It's just some DNA. The X-23 on the bottle wasn't meant to lead into the X-23 we know today, it was simply a really good writer pulling something from the past and making it into something. This is the market we live it currently however, so it is what it is. I would rather people be excited about comics than not be, so ill deal with it. I think it's great - the more excitement the better!

  8. So is the defect actually in demand? (Cuz then I'd have to go through all 100 copies of mine . . . )
  9. Why? +1 No. Carry on. I think it's an important aspect of the X-23 storyline.
  10. I looked at #9 last night - Domino is on near every page of that issue too . . . and the cover. Agreed, I think #8 will be the one.

  12. seems cheap at $66 If it ain't a first app, it ain't nuthin' nowadays . . . Not true. I've seen trends indicate that 1st issues in a popular long lasting series picking up and becoming more popular in the marketplace. Examples are issues like Wolverine Regular Series #1, Deadpool 97's #1, Rocket Raccoon #1 ect. This: means the comment was "tongue-in-cheek".

  14. Im not a professional by any means but if I got that copy in the mail I wouldn't be happy. Dinged up corner and noticeable spine issues. No chance at that being a 9.8 from even the most generous of graders. Agreed, it's a Tomato Boxer. Y'know, anyone who actually bought a book from me would never make a joke like that. Long live the naysayers. And btw, bighaley21 doesn't even know what book he's looking at.
  15. It's a sweet copy. (Unlike some of the junk sold here on the boards).
  16. Just out of curiosity, would you guarantee that numerical grade if someone bought it and sent it straight into CGC without a press? I guarantee the grade of every book I sell. I think I've had two returns in over 12 years and 10,000 sales. And those were many years ago. And even you know there are still many variables in this statement, "if someone bought it and sent it straight into CGC without a press?" I wasn't trying to bait you, I was sincerely curious. I will put this out there. A wager that benefits charity. I will buy a raw book of my choosing from Divad's ebay listings, now or in the near future. The book can be sent to a neutral third party who will relay it to CGC, fast-tracked at my expense, without further pressing or any modification from its current state upon receipt. If the book comes back in the same grade, I will sell the book and donate any profits to charity. I will also donate $100 to the charity of Divad's choosing. If the book does not come back the same grade, the book will still be sold with profits going to charity. Additionally, Divad must put the following statement in his signature line: "I cannot consistently guarantee the grades of raw books that I sell on Ebay. In fact, I should probably get them graded myself rather than selling hope to others." in 20pt, bolded font, for 1 year. Deal?? I'm 1:1 on public board wagers. I'm due to lose. You should buy this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201180314081 Well yes, only because you missed out on this one.
  17. I agree, # 8 should be her first appearance. I suspect that CGC just overlooked that one. Looked through X-Force #8 and Domino is all through out the book. So, Domino's 1st appearance is: New Mutants 98 X-Force 11 and now X-Force 8 Marvel.com has her 1st appearance listed as X-Force #8 so... back to searching the dollar bins "Domino" is on the cover to #8, just like NM#98. However, looks to be a Strange Tales #114 type of issue, exepct carried forward over several issues. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_11 "Domino is studying up on her teammates when Deadpool makes his appearance. He knocks Domino around and continues to call her Vanessa. He reveals that she has been working as a mole for Tolliver and has been giving him trade secrets on the team but has stopped recently. They continue to fight and Deadpool threatens that she must start giving Tolliver what he wants or Tolliver will come after her. He then reveals that she is not really Domino and has just taken her persona....Tolliver enters the depths of his secret castle. He walks with Pico and enters a room where he is keeping a prisoner. He states that she has been there for more than a year and has not adjusted to their hospitality. The prisoner is revealed to be none other than the real Domino." Thus, #11 is the 1st appearance of the 'real' Domino, as the CGC label states. New Mutants #98 and all of the pre-#11 X-Force books are Copycat, impersonating Domino. Nope. Check the info for issue #8, including: Supporting Characters: Domino - (Only in flashback), (First appearance) …We're given a glimpse of Cable's past for almost the rest of the issue. He's the leader of a team called Wild Pack… Domino appears in flashback, and presumably this is the actual Domino, long before her abduction. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_8 Yep, sorry Aggiez but this is correct. The Domino in X Force # 8 is the real one making # 8 the first appearance, not # 11. But who's to say that it's not the real Domino on the cover of NM 98? It's not a part of the story, therefore her status is not certain, regardless of the interior. Cover apps rule in my mind.
  18. Can I quote you on that? (for like the fifth-freakin' time). I don't like the way you do things either, but do I troll you?
  19. And thus, between the two titles, Marvel was batting .500. What happened to Longshot? He's an X-Character, and all he got was a limited series.
