  1. I think this one's definitely more important . . .
  2. But this is what you wrote. Yea but I had bought that books 6 months ago cause I believed it would heat up, I didn't mention it till a while ago, I told my brother to buy it when I did and he also got the Action 835 which he has on ebay now in 9.8. I know you talk to him all the time, where do you think the list of books he tells you comes from??? It all comes from what I tell him what he should be on the look out for. Do you record and post everything here on the boards that you think will heat up later on? Of course not, I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate and listing anything they think will be heating up later on. You are all so quick to make snap judgments though. Which part of "people on here" didn't you understand when you wrote it? Hey, keep up the good work - we may disagree, but we're all in this together. (thumbs u
  3. This sale was from January (I thought it was quite fair): SUPERMAN THE MAN OF STEEL #18 Dec 1992 DC NM/MT 9.8 W 1st App DOOMSDAY BOGDANOVE (#161188695593) US $125.00
  4. Patience, young Jedi. Movie and TV hype pushes the Rule of 25 down, eats it lunch, and then berates it, Kevin76 style.
  5. Hellblazer 1 is just an awesome book, as are all the early HBs. I still have the #1-6 run I bought off the racks, and though it's tempting to sell I will probably still hold onto them. sell, sell, sell !! , ( and then buy the trade paperback ) The dude abides.
  6. Plus you can USUALLY find the same comic available directly from mycomicshop.com WITHOUT the Ebay vig. Just gotta dig a bit. That's especially true for slabs....but raws are on consignment and in stock as well. Who would ever buy from MCS? Just. Plain. Nuts. (Oh, and btw, the seller pays the vig on eBay, not the buyer). What's your beef with MCS? More. For. Me. Have. At. It.

What's your beef with MCS? No beef. What's your non-beef?
  8. Yep, still. Crazy bidding - auction fairly started at $9.99.
  9. This is the one that has me scratching my head: Hellblazer 1 FN+ -- $50 Fine Plus condition; no name recognition (at least to me) like MCS or Sparkle. He's a Boardie, and a great grader and seller. Much better than MCS or Sparkle. That's my whole point.

  11. Keep at it! I just pulled that LiveWire Action from my boxes tonight.
  12. Now that is a shame. It is a tough book to track down in nice condition. Lower grade examples show up on Ebay from time to time. But even those, not that frequently. Yeah, that's the lesson about pulling the trigger when the time is right. Regrets are often more painful.
  13. Why so many different eBay accounts? Is there a benefit I'm missing? Well, each account (in theory) caters to a different target collecting group. I have another account that sells nothing but non-Marvel/DC GA and SA books (Dell / Charlton / Gold Key / Disney / Funny animal, etc.) that surprisingly does really well.
  14. ASM #187 Godzilla #1  ASM #189  Firestorm #1
  15. I've only had one chance to pick one up in the wild, about 8 years ago at a garage sale. Guy wanted $600 for it ($400 would have gotten it) - passed. Probably a solid 9.0.
  16. The fuse has been lit... Well, except that it's only Gambit
  17. so this book is up 500% in a week because they announced the TV show was picked up? brilliant. Well we will have to see if that sale becomes a trend or remains an anomaly. There is/was only one other auction for a raw copy of that book on eBay when the trailer was released and NBC made it known they had ordered a full season of episodes and the book is mid-grade. I would have to think Gotham Central #1 eventually does the same thing in regards to a full season of Gotham being picked up by Fox, but that discussion belongs in the modern subforum. Hellblazer #1 Profit is profit but I definitely would have had that graded and dumped it when the tv show premiered. I'm all for a quick turnover on raw books but I would have made an exception here. Gotta buy them groceries . . .
  18. Truedat, but there's no accounting for taste.
