  1. Snake, I guess Alabama is closer than California . . . When did you get yours?
  2. Divad.. I have nothing but good things to say about bellrules1. I've had a couple purchases from him go through without a hitch. He's been a great board buddy and I've found him to be a standup guy. Might just be a case of "real life" taking precedence over "comic life".. but I think that he will make good. Hope this gets cleared up amicably. Thanks Cheezy, that's encouraging at least . . . (and thanks to others who posted their thoughts) hopefully, the books just turns up.
  3. Ok, first time in a while that I've had to post here. Bought a book from Bellrules1 on 5/12 - a new guy on the boards who has done nothing here but post a couple of sales threads . . . perhaps my first cue that something was wrong. Takes him 9 days to contact me, and another three days to even shoot me his PayPal addy. So far he's guilty of only incredible nonchalance. I pay him on the 5/24 as soon as I have the details. It's now 6/12 and there's no sign of the book. It's been 31 days, but only 20 days since I paid - either way . . . Houston, I think we may have a problem

  5. Totally agree - there are so many people here we are all fortunate to have on our side, and Mark is certainly one of the good guys. Well done Mark (thumbs u I concur.
  6. In all fairness, I believe this was applied only in one or two instances where the buyer flat out said that they had no intention of paying. It seems harsh to force the seller to wait 30 days under those circumstances. Especially if it means they have to hold onto books for a month instead of putting them back up for sale. Exceptions to the rules are being made willy-nilly is not right either. The rules need to be changed then if everyone things that a 30 day window is to long. The rules should be enforced to stop the pitch-fork menatility that can develop rather quickly here. I feel that new problems are coming up and perhaps it is time to look at what is happening and make changes together not just have one or two inputs. Awwww, you'll be back You know how many times I've thrown my hands up in the air? It's all for the greater good.

  8. It's gonna be a photo finish between "Put him in the Hall of Shame" and "Immolate him Immediately" I wonder how many votes Dr. Frankie aka Muscleshark placed?
  9. Why not, eh? I don't think it meets the criteria of non-payment or non-delivery, which is what Divad's guidelines are. It was a 'fringe' thing of partial payment and a back out. I don't know what the technical requirements are, but he's shown a pattern of dishonesty, disrespect, and verbal violence. I hate to think he can just start up selling again whenever he wants. Actually, it bugs me that he's even back at all, but I guess there's nothing we can do about that. If you read the first page of the probation thread, it will explain the criteria to you. Probation wasn't meant to cover all offenses here on the boards, it was made to cover the most egregious - non-payment, non-delivery - there are lots of other gray areas. My understanding of the case at hand is that you have a partial payment, back out and refund, and a lame excuse...., at least that's what many here on the boards think. Think of it as grand theft vs. petty theft, or something else. This current case just doesn't meet the stated criteria or threshold for inclusion on the probation thread. Divad is the guy in charge of the probation thread - you could always PM him and get his thoughts on the issue. You're talking about Yannis - the guy who received a partial payment for a book, then turned around & sold it somebody else. I'm talking about Dr. Frankenstein/Muscleshark who has been caught doctoring scans to make books look better, cracking books & then re-selling them at a higher grade (without disclosing that they were previously slabbed), and has a pattern of threats of both physical violence & litigation which, so far, has resulted in him receiving two strikes from the mods (one as Muscleshark, one as Dr. Frankenstein). You are correct - I am wrong and I'm mixing up the two. Anyhoo....., read the criteria for the probation thread - non-payment, non-delivery. The mods do not police the sales area. I don't think this one is up to Divad and the probation thread. It is up to the Mods and their strikes and bans method - they only deal with the threats of physical violence in the offenses you list. Obviously, they believe these offenses are not serious enought for an outright ban. But...., give Dr. Frankenstein/Muscleshark time...., maybe he'll come up with strike three. Thanks for the discourse guys, it all helps the community and help makes this list serve it's intended purpose. From what I've read so far, Yannis has not been nominated to the list by the offendee, and though his actions have been criticized, the injured party needs to be involved. Dr. Frankie's conduct on the other hand has been reprehensible, and deserving of a place in the Hall of Shame. We have in the past allowed such "hallowed" status to be confirmed by majority vote, but it is the actions themselves which warrant inclusion. That said, please indicate your preference below:
  10. His plaque is at the engravers as we speak. But he hasn't quite achieved infamy yet . . .

  12. He reneged on paying for deals with three different boardies (incl. me). And me. Some sob story I don't even remember now.
  13. Taz! Sheesh, even I forgot about him After one sale with about 20 's and an equal number of PM's, he paid for nothing Do I smell 'Hall of Shame"?
  14. How does one get off the probation list? Here's a thought . . . Pay for the books that you posted the on, or deliver the goods that you advertised for sale. easy-peasy!
  15. Thanks but it seems I have no chance among such whitey nerds. There's a reason schools have clicks. I really don't mean to be rude but I lack the language of the interwebuals. I try to say something but it just doesn't come out right. Kinda like when you guys talk to a cute girl. I kind of hope you stick around, because you are comical. By the way, the cute girls leave the athletes for nerds once they complete economics sophomore year. Your young, you’ll learn that (thumbs u
  16. Wow - this is just hilarious! What a presumptuous pompous gas-bag
  17. i'll sum it up real quick: i sold frank an avengers 57 in cgc 8.5 that i had pressed. He had the same book, less than a month later in the sales forum,de-slabbed,with a much cleaner looking back, either dry cleaned or scan tone messed with, listed as a 9.2 "raw" with no mention of it being slabbed,or pressed prior. I almost bought the book, until i realized it was my 8.5 cracked out.I called him out on it,in private, and he made up an excuse that it sold privately an hour before, and it wasn't the same book. I took it public to the forum to see the B.S. going on..frank blew up,threatened people, made up more stories that none of it made sense. The last being he posted the wrong scan, and that he had cracked out my 8.5 and sold it at a con as a 9.0,but used the scan on accident in the listing here, after first saying there was no way it could be the same slabbed book.... Pretty much it. oh yea, lots of swim suit model pictures that people posted also. Thanks - I think I'll take next weekend off as well . . .
  18. I go away for the weekend and I see a 125-page thread like this . . . can someone who's read it already sum it up in a paragraph for me?
  19. We don't disagree on any of this. David, your post is ridiculous!! And I'm embarassed for you. Ebony and Ivory IS a great song. Sure a second verse would be nice but.. Uhh...what? Sorry? What were you guys talking about? Oh. Never mind. John, I may be pretty simple but . . . you KILL me!
  20. I am collector only. my grading skills are not as good as most, so when I buy raw books I tend to rely on the grading skills of the seller. As a buyer I appreciate a heads up on who grades well and who does not. I avoid some problems by sticking to slabs, but sometimes it is nice to hold a raw comic (without having to crack a slab to do it). You see jazzy, these are the guys the community needs to protect - sort've keep an eye out for . . .
