  6. I agree with the og post, last con I was at there were only 2 dealers who understood that they can make a lot of $ by selling good mid grade non key 60s-80’s books at discounts that reward big spenders like $1 books with a buy $50 get bonus books etc. I couldn’t believe it when I started looking for some Byrne x-mens I was missing, and the lowest prices I could find were $17+.... in low to mid grade these are not keys... and are cheap in lots on ebay. I’m not gonna blow $200 for 10-12 non key byrne x-men, but I’d pay $200 for 25-30 mid low graders. I get that maybe they’re harder to come by, but it sometimes feels like they’re waiting to sell non key books for great profits rather than moving a lot of stuff for cash. Also it seems dealers don’t bother bringing the middle of the ground non key or highest grade books too often because they’re not sure they’ll sell. I think there’s enough interest to move big volumes if priced right like older times. I’d be fine with something a local record store does, spend $100 get another $50 for free.
  7. I agree with this 100% as well. Not only can it be tough to find a book again, but finding one in a condition you can afford is a whole other thing to deal with. Unless you can afford the $ to only get the best, sometimes a rare book with flaws is the only way to get the book for a long time. Consider you can always upgrade, and right now certain defects can offer a large discount. Most defects will not progress unless you store the book in bad conditions. Collector’s and grader’s opinions of defects can change over time. Restored books used to be a much bigger bargain. If the silver age demand migrates (pun intended) to the goldenage the day when pro conservation’s widely accepted will be sooner than later. Atm a rusted staple blue label sells for more than a risk free book with pro replaced staples. Enjoy whatever discounts that are available.
  8. Top 10 marvel mystery comics for sure! And this copy is super!
  9. 9 at the moment surprising since it’s such a popular and used image regarding female heroes or mary marvel.
  10. I just started making Golden Age comic videos on youtube, so I thought I'd share em here with the people who helped me the most in my journey to understand and enjoy the Golden Age. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrLpe4fTU5Qq_MB0xMo7LkA Please share your vids or any other youtube Golden Age vids here as well! Their comic community is pretty cool, but Golden Age needs more representatives! I hope you like em and look forward to yours. I show some of my favorite Captain Americas in this one: Two recent Mary Marvel pick ups in this one:
  11. I just picked up two books I've been hunting for over 2 years! I made a video that shows em up close.
  12. Check out my video of some of my favorite Timelys of my collection. I recently started these so I apologize for the amateur filming and narration as I stumble through the process. If you like it check out my other vids.
  13. From the videos I saw of the booths it seemed to me that setting up is mostly about PR. Anything gained is unexpected and a total loss/expense for the advertising is expected. Lots of nice books, it looked like a museum which is pretty cool in it’s own way. Here’s a nice vid I saw of the booths:
  14. Unless there’s a defect that prevents you from enjoying the book I don’t see why you’d do anything . Like maybe if there’s still tape on the cover you could get that off and then leave it be. If kept in good environment and not bumped around the condition shouldn’t change. Unless you need to sell or something soon I’d say just leave it as is. What an awesome book!
  15. I felt like even the WW movie barely did much for this thread... I think a huge amount of WW collectors just aren’t the forum type.
