  1. This makes me wonder if this second printing is a result of a shortage of 116 first print or of Image knowing collectors will buy it if they make second print.
  2. I really liked this episode, and the two building up to it. It was nice to take a break from the Prison. A few comments:
  3. Looks like incoflip is selling his set. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Walking-Dead-CGC-9-8-Complete-Series-Large-Raw-Run-/111226525751?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item19e59e1837
  4. Roninduelist is a board member and sits high on the registry list. If I had to guess, he bought it from Dre on eBay too and used the stock photo to add the slab to his registry. But that's just a guess. Or maybe this is how he got so high on the registry. Here is his profile. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showprofile&User=24878 I would assume it was an honest mistake.
  5. For those of you that participate in the registry, would you want/be interested in a set that goes from 1-100, or maybe even 1-96?
  6. James, this issue is chock full of great pages 6-7 double page spread 9 16 22
  7. How true. I really liked the last panel. Great juxtaposition.
  8. I don't know why I didn't realize this before, but each of the 115 variants B thru K represents a different year of WD, i.e. B = year 1, C = year 2 etc. I didnt notice that until I saw that noted on the CGC slabs
  9. I posted about this in the WD bubble thread a little while back: It was announced that AMC had acquired the rights to WD in August of 2009 - at that time a WD #1 in 9.8 was a $400-450 book. The show premiered on October 31st, 2010 - throughout most of 2010 (including after the show premiere), a WD #1 in 9.8 was a $500-600 book with a single outlier sale of $875 on December 4th (immediately followed by three $450-500 sales the following week). Sales prices remained stuck in the $500-600 range throughout most of 2011 until the premiere of the 2nd season which kicked off the nosebleed price jump. It's amazing that so many people keep on trying to push the myth that WD #1s exploded after the TV show got announced (or after the 1st episode aired) - it just didn't happen that way. +1 It amazes me when people pay nose bleed prices for books after movie announcements. It's just crazy. Why rush and "buy in" at high prices? Do they want to be "1st to market" when the show/movie happens? The reality is the seller they bought from was the real "1st to market." The people who owned a Walking Dead #1 at the beginning of the show are NOT the only people who made money. Once a real pattern of growth was established like Mike said with season 2, people were able to join in and find raw copies to get slabbed and flip. There is no reason to believe that will be any different for Preacher #1. I was thinking the same thing, but for some reason I have a hard time imagining Invincible getting picked up as a movie. I've been reading the title since number one, but ... I don't know. I hate to say it, but it might be too generic. No, I take that back. I feel the book has been coasting for a while. But that first arc, where Omniman "turns" evil, would make an awesome movie.
  10. Mine is actual size (but she seems so much bigger to me).
  11. Saga could potentially have a shot, I agree. But I have heard people say that Vaughan said he will not move this product to other media.
  12. I just got a sweet #80 photo variant 9.6 in the mail Congrats, retro! That was one of the ones I bought raw from eBay and got graded 9.8.
  13. I'll be very thanksful to be giving my LCS $2.99 tomorrow for WD 117.
  14. 69 came out Jan 2010. 80 was released in October (this issue has the Photo Arizona Variant, which is pretty sweet). Walking Dead was VERY popular before the show was announced. So I guess for something to be the next Walking Dead, it will need to have a large following previous to a TV/Movie announcement, be in relative short supply, already show a strong market demand in price, have 5 years worth of issues under it's belt AND still being published. Can you think of anything that meets these parameters?
  15. This is funny to look at too, a post from 3/19/10. There are currently 1751 on the census.
  16. Branget and Comicalgems are arguing discussing in the Preacher - AMC thread about the price of WD #1 before the show was announced, with the context that WD has caused collectors to rush to buy #1s after a show is announced in case it is the next WD. Branget says he couldnt give one away at $250, but CG recalls buying one for $700. According to Wikipedia, on January 20, 2010, AMC officially announced that it had ordered a pilot. So lets look at sales around that time, from GPA: Dec-22-2010 - $500 - Cert# 0795979018 Dec-22-2010 - $550 - Dec-21-2010 - $455 - Dec-16-2010 - $600 - Dec-16-2010 - $467 - Cert# 0940042001 Dec-13-2010 - $500 - Cert# 0171377001 Dec-06-2010 - $511 - Cert# 0174166001 Dec-04-2010 - $875 - Cert# 0171170001 Nov-19-2010 - $565 - Cert# 0988728001 Nov-17-2010 - $601 - Cert# 0968161007 Nov-15-2010 - $575 - Nov-14-2010 - $613 - Cert# 0907236008 Nov-11-2010 - $575 - Cert# 0769224012 Nov-09-2010 - $549 - Cert# 0146321020 Nov-07-2010 - $500 - Cert# 0141887001 Nov-04-2010 - $510 - Cert# 0771941002 Nov-02-2010 - $565 - Cert# 0991453002 Oct-24-2010 - $650 - Oct-24-2010 - $580 - Cert# 0997344001 Oct-21-2010 - $650 - Cert# 1018910001 Oct-17-2010 - $602 - Cert# 0615615003 Oct-10-2010 - $531 - Cert# 0976122010 Oct-08-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908004 Oct-08-2010 - $665 - Oct-04-2010 - $300 - Cert# 0170551001 Oct-03-2010 - $400 - Cert# 0170551001 Oct-03-2010 - $375 - Cert# 0170551001 Oct-02-2010 - $535 - Cert# 0170551001 Sep-28-2010 - $500 - Cert# 0975908007 Sep-19-2010 - $650 - Cert# 0160723002 Sep-19-2010 - $624 - Cert# 0976122010 Sep-14-2010 - $598 - Cert# 0991453002 Sep-07-2010 - $650 - Sep-04-2010 - $616 - Cert# 0146321020 Aug-25-2010 - $650 - Cert# 0952775001 Aug-18-2010 - $510 - Cert# 0168638020 Aug-18-2010 - $650 - Cert# 1004975001 Aug-15-2010 - $480 - Cert# 0976016008 Aug-12-2010 - $570 - Cert# 0001266002 Aug-12-2010 - $620 - Cert# 1015736013 Aug-09-2010 - $607 - Aug-02-2010 - $670 - Jul-25-2010 - $573 - Cert# 0166465014 Jul-14-2010 - $537 - Cert# 1006805002 Jun-19-2010 - $455 - Cert# 0165995005 Jun-01-2010 - $465 - Cert# 0988790001 May-30-2010 - $501 - May-28-2010 - $455 - May-26-2010 - $480 - Cert# 0001266002 May-23-2010 - $502 - Cert# 0975877007 May-17-2010 - $550 - Cert# 0975877008 May-15-2010 - $560 - Cert# 0976016005 May-12-2010 - $561 - Cert# 0137813023 May-10-2010 - $625 - Cert# 0976016008 May-09-2010 - $610 - Cert# 0166604003 May-01-2010 - $550 - Apr-29-2010 - $550 - Apr-25-2010 - $660 - Cert# 0907236008 Apr-11-2010 - $680 - Cert# 0975877003 Mar-25-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908004 Mar-25-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908004 Mar-25-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908004 Mar-25-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908004 Mar-23-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0975908008 Mar-16-2010 - $700 - Cert# 0157311002 Mar-15-2010 - $500 - Mar-15-2010 - $450 - Feb-22-2010 - $585 - Cert# 0976294003 Feb-22-2010 - $560 - Cert# 0976122007 Feb-09-2010 - $565 - Cert# 0163854002 Feb-02-2010 - $470 - Cert# 0800666007 Jan-25-2010 - $485 - Cert# 0976122007 Jan-24-2010 - $501 - Cert# 0163789006 Jan-24-2010 - $500 - Cert# 0976122008 Jan-16-2010 - $455 - Cert# 0956968004 Nov-24-2009 - $380 - Cert# 0132738014 Nov-22-2009 - $375 - Cert# 0956753003 Nov-08-2009 - $430 - Cert# 0159842003 Oct-25-2009 - $400 - Cert# 0159842003 Oct-17-2009 - $399 - Cert# 0938958010 Oct-04-2009 - $411 - Cert# 0159860011 Oct-02-2009 - $450 - Cert# 0956753002
  17. Hope you brought plenty to read and/or a charger for your digital devices!
  18. I'm not sure what that GIF means, but that was absolutely a steal.
