  1. Thanks for sharing James. I think it might matter to some people, and I would agree that the black seems rarer, but it would be nice to have some statistical data to support that belief. It also interests me to know what the ratio looks like.
  2. Does anyone else care to share? Thanks for everyone's help so far!
  3. Keown is at $1,425. What do think this will end at? 2k? 3k?
  4. BTW, if any one needs a number one, there is one on eBay at a decent price. $1900 OBO free shipping. I believe the seller is a boardie. Its not me, though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WALKING-DEAD-1-CGC-9-8-1st-PRINT-KIRKMAN-MOORE-AMC-TV-SERIES-/221243191182?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item33831f2f8e
  5. Oh wow! It's already at $1375. I would have guessed for a slow build up then a mad dash at the end. I would guess, since its price has already surpassed the other auctions (except for Ottley's), I would guess for it to stall around there, then probably a surge at the end.
  6. Thank god they didnt do a different printing. Though that would have been a cool "variant" for you UKers.
  7. I would agree. I would expect Adlard's to go pretty high, possinly Sean Phillips, and I expect Keown to blow thru the roof.
  8. I'll need a 9.8 copy down the road, for my variant set. I'm leaning towards waiting on one that has already been slabbed. God forbid I taint my set with a book less than a 9.8 HOLY COW POOP bass punk....Your collection is remarkable......I just pooped out a baby..... (worship) Thank you Last count, I think I have 25 9.9's and 3 10.0's I hate you/envy you so much right now
  9. Assuming eBay masks a particular user's ID the same way across multiple auctions, then yes, it seems like a few people have purchased multiple covers: artist - masked id - rating - ending price - McKone - 8***8 - 1081 - $480.00 Brereton - 8***8 - 1081 - $510.00 total - $990.00 Purcell - a***g - 3097 - $1,225.00 Robertson - a***g - 3097 - $709.00 Beatty - a***g - 3097 - $404.00 Moreno - a***g - 3097 - $404.00 Albuquerque - a***g - 3097 - $688.00 total - $3,430.00 Portacio - v***a - 529 - $1,350.00 Bates - v***a - 529 - $621.96 Staples - v***a - 529 - $920.02 Ottley - v***a - 529 - $1,550.00 Valentino - v***a - 529 - $1,043.93 Rivera - v***a - 529 - $1,231.00 total - $6,716.91 Others - Wilson y***y 237 $1,043.92 Lashley 4***a 2446 $910.00 Shah a***l 377 $405.00 Raney e***f 253 $611.00 Hembeck i***e 310 $389.00 McManus l***i 1314 $780.00 Kurth l***l 103 $585.00 Migliari m***c 34 $649.00 Allen s***e 1086 $410.00
  10. Yes, I think so. There is a guy in the sales thread that is/was selling three graded 9.8s.
  11. ET's pic of the IE variant wasn't showing for me, so here it is again:
  12. I'll need a 9.8 copy down the road, for my variant set. I'm leaning towards waiting on one that has already been slabbed. God forbid I taint my set with a book less than a 9.8 Do you think they'll actually pop back into circulation anytime soon?
  13. Dibs on the Kesel and the Robinson. If no else bids on them, then maybe I can afford them. Ok?
  14. That sucks...just dont sell it now during the lull. I can't even imagine what a 10 would pull. 20k at least, right? Sell it at the right and the right venue, probably 40-50k?
  15. I would equate it to the other "previews" that have appeared in WD over the past few years: Chew, Fatale, Revival, etc.
  16. Next batch of HI covers end in about three hours. Anyone hoping to snag one of them? http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_ipg=25&_from=R40&_sacat=0&_armrs=1&_ssn=heroinitiative&_nkw=walking+dead&_sop=1
  17. Nice indeed. AND he has had it for a while. Makes me wonder if there is a ten out there. I'm guessing not.
  18. Dude, very nice. I love the commission art, too! Lori is REALLY creepy.
  19. Donations are always welcome! J/k I'm a data nerd and am more than happy to share.
  20. Here is some data I collected about 9.8 sales of WD #1, all from GPA. I only used date from sales that had a certificate ID. Since 2005, GPA records a total of 284 9.8 sales. 66 of the sales were from IDs that were previously record as sold, meaning flips (either long or short) account for about 23% of sales since 2005. Of the flips, the average hold time was 435 days and the median 170. The max hold time was 1927 days, and the shortest was 8. The average and median difference "profit" was $453 and $100, respectively, with the max being $2,595 (0165995005 bought 6/19/10 $455 sold 12/25/12 $3,050) and the low being -$370 (1018513002 bought 7/18/12 $1795 sold 8/5/12 $1525).
