I've participated in at least two three-way deals over the years in which everyone got something they desired. Although they can take many months or more to hammer out. But to stay on point even though it may be a long-shot there are times trade is only way to pry a piece away...

I do like the simple clean look of the 1st Gen - a lot. However I can see how from business perspective why the 2nd gen and 3rd gen CGC's labels are usually preferred.

I have about 4 dozen original label CCG's. Sent the majority of them in myself between early 2000 - early 2001, none have the issue you describe. However I do recall seeing one at dealers table 2 years back like you mentioned. Makes me wonder what conditions cause that so it can be avoided I do notice on a fair number of my original and older large number that the label on the top of the slabs starts to come off. Not a problem as little rubber cement takes care of it perfectly and any excess is easily and gently removed. Purchased a 1st gen slab recently and neglected to ask the seller if the top label was still attached, sure enough when I got the book it was not there. BTW: I feel the terms: "Original CGC" "CGC Large Number Label for Universal Grades" and "CGC Universal Label - in use since 2016" while nicely descriptive are a bit clunky. For my own inventory purposes I've taken to calling them - 1st Gen CGC label - 1st Gen CGC Modern label - 2nd Gen CGC label - 3rd Gen CGC label

Many consider "High Grade" for 1977-1979 to be 9.6 or 9.8. In order here are the 5 Marvel Godzilla's with the fewest combined total of 9.8 and 9.6's #24 = 16 #16 = 21 #17 = 21 #15 = 22 #13 = 23 #24 and #15 are tied for the fewest 9.8's with 9, but #15 has nearly double the amount of 9.6's as #24. #24 has a measly 16 copies in 9.6 or above. #12 and #15 are tied for the least slabbed book. #1 has more 9.8's and 9.6's then one can shake a stick at. #24 has the Lowest Average Grade in the run, averaging what for a late bronze age Marvel is a meager 8.96 #19 has the highest Average grade in the run with a robust 9.67. Not sure why 15,16,17 are getting the most "love" recently in auctions, when #24 is the True current King of High Grade Scarcity for the title. There are 12 #16's and 15 #8's in 9.8 in the registry as of today. Given the numbers of few months ago a lot more have seen daylight. Perhaps the high prices at the time spurred on sending them for slabbing? #15 and #24 are now the "rare" ones. Yes it is a fun series. The last 2 issues especially so. I mean Godzilla vs The FF, Avengers and SHIELD what's not to love... Surprised Overstreet notates 21 and 22 and being a Devil Dinosaur app, but NO mention whatsoever of Avengers and FF in 23 and 24. Seriously Overstreet folks, what is up with that?

Based on eBay auction sales the past 6 weeks were the Jan and Feb Godzilla 9.8 sales spike simply an anomaly rather than a trend? Or possibly a case of few registry type collectors looking to simply fill in missing holes? I believe as of this writing the only books in the run with a 9.8 census population lower than 10 are numbers #15 and #24. #24 of course was the final issue with a low print run that is legitimately hard to find in 9.8 (almost as many 9.4's as 9.6's and 9.8's combined) or at least it was for me with a near 15 year search effort. Of course all I've mentioned above are merely my opinions. My favorite book in the run is #23, I love that Trimpe Avengers cover as well as the last page in the book. The last page of #23 is actually my favorite Godzilla page of the run, showing his sheer enormity without clutter.

BTW Brittany and folks, The 14 day policy is rather stingy given the shipping time itself of the books reaching the customer can be 5-7 days depending on time of year, distance etc...Is there no room or interest in your business model for a more realistic 21 days and the increased customer satisfaction it would yield?

Like many who have been in this hobby a while I consider any art Los Bros own to be tantamount to lost or destroyed. I then simply move on to pieces elsewhere. As a smart person once wrote a long time ago on the old comicart-l board regarding the Bros mind games; "No art is worth your dignity"

That is an outstanding splash page and one that is very close to me I still maintain the Thanos Cosmic Cube Story from #39 not only the best Spidey Super Stories story of the run but the greatest Thanos story presented in Comic book form. The single thing that keeps it from being perfection is no Starlin pencils although Mortimer did outstanding work, IMHO The Cat [or is it Hellcat?] never looked so fine. The intro to Avengers 4 film needs to have Thanos negotiating the purchase of the copter and the silk screening of his name on the side!
