  3. For me, I enjoyed the book through to the V War. I felt like it dragged a bit, and I hate the bulletproof story. Love what they did with Monster Girl and Robot though. I felt like 100 wasn't al that great, but the book has picked back up the last few issues. I'm curious where it is headed with Nolon. And even when it dragged it was better than most supe hero stuff on the market.
  4. Man you guys are killing me! I won't have money to clean out my pull box until next pay check so I'm going to be a few weeks behind. I want to read this though....
  5. So I'm just going to say it, I didn't find it all that appealing. It was good, but nothing really grabbed me or pulled me in to the show. I will give it a chance and I try not to judge a show by the trailer. Lately I'm finding it hard to stay up past 9- I feel old sometimes. I fell asleep before the show ended. That isn't entirely on the show, but as excited as I was it should have pulled me in. I'll give it another shot, but it needs to do something next episode or I'm moving on.
  6. Oh man I can't wait until tomorrow to watch this! I didn't know it started tonight. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. That is pretty cool. I wonder if it'd be noted by CGC...
  8. What's so special about WD 113? was wondering the same thing. It is the start of the Negan war/battle I believe. Things are about to get interesting in TWD and it goes twice a month in October for a while. They've also planted seeds that make people think Rick is going to die- maybe Carl- but someone big is going to die.
  9. Yea it is about what I figured for a 9.6. I think the RRP will start to rebound after a few months of the book being on a regular schedule. Time will tell.
  10. Maybe I'm not clear on what you mean. How is quality not the driving factor? If TWD wasn't a quality book, then there wouldn't be a show. Granted you have things like ASM 194 being driven by the move, but if the character created hadn't had potential, then the book wouldn't be selling.
  11. Oh and I'd also add: the issue with the price of this book is coming from people that have actually attempted to move the book. How many of the people telling me I'm wrong about its demand have tried to sell the book?
  12. +1 Sometimes I feel like criticizing the price of this book everyone gets personally offended. I'd love to be wrong, but from what I've seen these books just aren't as hot as everyone here wants. Could that change? Sure- but I'm not sure it will as production of a TV show for this book would cost a small fortune. Having said all that: this books is a blast to read and I hope it runs for a long time. Oh and Y: The Last Man would make an outstanding TV show. The most expensive thing would probably be paying for the monkey and trainer.
  13. I don't agree. I'd priced it about $40 below recent eBay auctions. I even included a link to said auctions. It might have been steep for a dealer though. That I could see. For the boards? I thought it was a good deal. Oh and I'd add: A lot of them didn't even ask a price. I believe I spoke with 5 dealers. One didn't have his partner who was in charge of CGC books. One was up for trading but my price was too high. We discussed a trade but he only had one book I wanted that was way below the value. The other 3 were not interested outright. I never even gave them a figure or showed them the book. One of the 3 had a raw Invincible that I was clearly going to try to flip it in to and they wouldn't even discuss it. They had the Invincible priced at $125. So you can say what you want, but right now this book is a niche book, IMO. In a year or two I could see it changing, but as of right now I'm not sure I'd invest in regular 9.8s of issue 1. Like someone just bought 8 copies of issue 1 over in the marketplace. That money, again IMO, could have been better spent on an RRP which seems to be dropping in value now. I'd imagine it will spike again. CGC is the niche, not Saga. You essentially wanted a graded price and in your example wanted to trade for a raw book. There are a number of dealers that simply will not pay a premium for graded books. They just don't sell at conventions like raw books. Had you offered the book as raw trade value (plus slabbing cost) then you may have had better luck. As far as selling here what did you price it at? I was thinking the same thing Jeff as I just sold a raw 9.0 copy for $95. Prices are starting to head north... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAGA-1-CGC-9-8-Brian-K-Vaughan-Fiona-Staples-IMAGE-/261277037752?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3cd55334b8 That is promising! I was trying to sell my SS copy for 200 too.
  14. I didn't even know the Smurfs got their start in comics. Very cool!
  15. That is pretty normal for an independent modern, right? What did numbers look like for Stumptown Volume 2? I'd imagine they are similar.
  16. I couldn't find it in dollar bins. I asked a few people that had bundles collections and they didn't have it. The search continues!

  18. You get on the list early Saturday? What was he charging? I didn't even ask because of my budget. I was happy with the Avengers 1 Swipe and meeting him, but I'm curious. That is a great pickup.
  19. Were people looking for the RRP? That is a good point: not one of them even bothered to ask me if it was an RRP. I didn't see a single booth selling any issues either. I saw a few modern East of Wests for like $15 or so. No one was interested in my copy of the first one of the those either. So are these dealer only carry the books from big two, or only would buy or trade GA, SA books? Maybe, it's better off for you to sell it on here or Ebay. I was there on Saturday, it was just way too many people at the show. After going through a few publisher's booth and artist alley, and forever wait at CGC, I was so beat. I just gave up and even bother to check out every dealer. I've tried to sell it here about 4 different times over the last 4 or 5 months. I didn't have any takers. I did have some trade offers, but they just didn't fit what I was looking for. I tried to check with dealers who had modern stuff on their walls. If they had only silver or bronze I didn't bother even asking. I think that amounted to about 5 dealers in total. Personally, I love the book and don't mind holding on to it. It just is out of place in my collection of Spider-Man books and I wouldn't mind flipping it for silver Spideys. I went to the con with a very limited budget. I attempted to dig through dollar bins but just found total drek in them. I'm at a tough point in my collection because I'm looking for very specific things. I really searched for a run of Gotham Central. I'd love to own those books as I've heard it is a great read.
