  1. When I looked, there was 4 on census, right? Crazy stuff. And it sounds like Ian was just driving up the price.
  2. In fact, according to Jacob Schneider, responses today, in relation to responses in 2003 (when the CGC first began calculating this), have increased a full 32.56 %, but many believe that although the responses are 'longer,' they in fact have less content......fart and Dck jokes have become the standard of posts...the HDLX calculation have deleted the substance of the post and are now subject to categorizing posters, rather than the content of their posts, this happenned as a result of Robert Maddox in November of 2012 I'm so confused
  3. So did this guy ever complete his collection? What happened to him? And it doesn't look like the boards have changed all the much. Only thing I'd say, is nobody writes super long responses like they seemingly used too.
  4. Yea I noticed that it said something about servicemen. Were they just put in issues for military subscribers then? My understanding is these were shipped directly to overseas military bases. Correct. They were never available within the US. So have we ever seen print numbers on them? They must be low.

  6. I'm always please when I find inserts that I didn't know were there. I was reading ASM 321 (I think that was the issue) the other day. I had thought I didn't own any with MJ Inserts, but I was pleasantly surprised.
  7. I know I'm late to the party; The Black Hand posted a link on a WC thread. This is just jaw dropping. I've been clicking through the thread for an hour now. I'm just amazed every time a new picture is posted.
  8. + Ten Grand,Chin Music, Suicide Risk,Bounce, Sex, Ghosted, Ballistic, The Wake Amen fellas. Much prefer 2013 to 2012 in terms of content When did Hawkeye start?
  9. They all seem to have a variant, but they don't seem to be incentive variants. I don't think it means much of anything. Buffy does two covers for each of their books and it is more an eye appeal thing.
  10. Wow the back on that looks really bad. I usually don't mind if the miswrap is uniform on the front. I have a ASM 122 where the miswrap is pretty much the same down the front. I can't seem to find the picture. I'll find one and throw it up, but it is not bad.
  11. That's actually my book and I subbed it. I hated the miswrap, and it still bugs me, but that is still the lone graded copy two years later. Not an easy book in grade. That is fugly though- what a shame with that grade too. It just amazes me that for a long time no one making comics said or did anything about miswraps.
  12. If you look at his past auctions, he tried to auction the old model. It never went though. It makes you wonder if he just changed the picture to the Slim and is hoping someone will want it...
  13. I really enjoyed the second issue. It left us with a lot of questions, but slowly answered them in the narrative. It isn't just spoon feeding us information, but is allowing things to occur and us to figure them out as we go. The end made me excited for the next book. I can't wait to see where it goes, and I imagine Rucka is going to flesh out Lazarus. He usually writes strong female leads. She seems cold right now.
  14. Yea I really agree with this thought about Invincible. The first arc was OK, but man did it take off in the second and so on. I feel like it only gets better for some time. Viltrumite war might be the dropping off point, but I still enjoy it every month. And I'd go as far to say this title might be Kirkman's best work.
  15. I'm playing right now. It's incredible. I love the hell out of the game. It was phenomenal. I've been playing a lot of the multiplayer. Even that is great. I restarted the game last night. I was hoping my items would carry over, but they didn't from what I can tell.
  16. You're a madman. It's more of I am a loser thing. I started playing this game on June 23, three weeks and played 150 hours. That's a addiction or OCD problem if I ever saw one. Well, Skyrim is super addictive. I remember playing 40 hours over 4 days during the Christmas holiday (2011). Nice! Great game Bro, so much more to do, quests and stuff that I still have open. Not sure why they would put the final dark brotherhood achievement a few quests before the end of the quest line. Apparently, the "radiant quest" system in the game continues to generate quests even after you complete the main quest and all the different guilds. So it can literally go on forever if you want it to. Finished all the Skyrim stuff including the DLC gamer score stuff accept one. Defeat a legendary dragon. Only problem for me is they start spawning randomly when you are level 78 from what I have read online. After completing the entire game....I am level 58. I remember a lot of board members said that they played and loved Skyrim....who has beat a legendary dragon? Well that's 190 hours I will never get back. [/img] Gahh! All I need is that legendary dragon! I'm lvl 64, and the sonovagun still hasn't spawned for me. I had everything until they added all the DLC. I just haven't been as committed. I loved the hell out of the game!
  17. Man this is disappointing. I saw one of his covers back before Christmas. We exchanged a few messages and I was going to do some business with AC at some point in the future. I guess now I'm not...
  18. Anyone played The Last of Us yet? I picked it up over the weekend after watching the IGN review and the guy at Gamestop saying it was the best game he'd ever played. It is sort of like Unchartered (made by Naughty Dog) meets Resident Evil. I don't know if that does it justice, but it is a LOT of fun thus far.
  19. Me too! I don't wonder in to the silver age section all that much though which might explain it... I'm filling in my run on ASM slowly but surely. Like a lot of people, I'm working my way down. Right now I've got from 140 to present, but I'm not missing all the much down to 20. My goal this year is a copy of 129 in around a 9.0 range, but that is going to be tough. From there it'll be easy to fill my gap from 100 to present though as I only have a few holes. My biggest hole, obviously, is from 1-19. Right now I've got pretty nice copies of 3, 7, 12, and 14 respectively. My focus is mostly readers. I've refused to buy trades or collection of ASM. Thus as I buy issues it is a blast to read them. I generally only buy graded copies of stuff I've got as readers or have as reprints. I do have some of the early stuff in trades that were given to me or stuff that was reprinted in anthology titles. Here is my copy of 3 I bought of DSCott on the boards (sorry for awful pics):
  20. Yea but that is one person. On the flip side, my store isn't ordering many because the first few issues didn't move off the rack. I was the first one in my store yesterday and they only had three issues even for the rack. Also in you story he is telling people to pick up all four issues. If the book is so good how do they have all four issues? These stories always come up and they are great to hear, but they don't mean anything. It is just like all the Spidey naysayers on CBR are saying Superior isn't moving in their store, and yet the book is selling consistently well 12 issues in. Everyone has some story to tell.
  21. I read it and enjoyed the book. It was a fun read and I'm curious if we'll get the backstory to explain all of this. You're in the minority on this one it appears, but hey, not everyone has the same taste. I don't think your in a minority. The speculators are really trying to push the book. From what I've seen, there isn't a ton of buzz outside the speculators. The big thing for me, I don't care about any of the characters. There isn't anything to feel invested in right now. I'm still pulling it and will be around for a bit longer, but it is going to have to do something soon to make me care.
  22. Strange because my LCS said they were an incentive thing and he only had two. I, of course, grabbed them both at cover
  23. Well it depends how much you're selling. If you're selling under 5,000 copies you're not getting much. If you're Robert Kirkman you're rolling in it. Do you have anything to back that up though? Kirkman might be a bit different too because he is a partner at Image now I believe. I'd still wonder what he actually makes an issue though. Licensing is an entirely different issue.
