  1. IM 100: Looked and looked, and probably not looking in the right places...but this is something I've been chasing with white pages for a while. Shockingly, less than 50 blue label 9.8s out there, just 5 yellow labels. G.I. Joe: Trojan Gambit #nn This is something I had no idea what it was, but the 1984 me bought it. Turns out its a collection of issue #3 (which is the same story from the GI Joe: ARAH series,) but also includes issues #6 and 7, the Oktober Guard issues. Census: 1 submission. This book. Thats it. WTH.
  2. Star Wars #1 9.8 with ow-w pages pops for 3200 on CLink 2 nights ago. She Hulk 1 goes for 1100+. Whether Concert season happens or not is going to be decided in a few weeks at the most, and that is trending towards a no with the venues already deciding to not sell season packages. Conventions have a little more leeway, bu not much. Another year of the comic covid market is just unfathomable.
  3. So moving on from the Great Godzilla Debate. IH 340 9.8 = a grand. UXM 266 = 700, another went off on CLink last night for 950. Thats real life right now.
  4. And look, I'm not trying to call you out or anything like that, and the truth is, no one truly knows the answer to the question of "how many are still out there that would be 9.8 books?" The one thing I do know, is that everyone in this thread enjoys, in some form, "the thrill of the hunt," and thats what makes collection, investing, speculating, whatever you do, worthwhile. Nothing but smile emojis and unicorns and sunshine going forward on this end.
  5. yeah I saw that too, but those statistics certainly don't create some sort of analogy that supports your statement, in fact, it would more than likely mean all of the long boxes of ASM 300 you think are out there are there anymore...why? Because now they are graded. I'm not asking for alot here, just something that would suggest that what you think is true is actually true.
  6. Awesome. Good to hear, I was prepared to bid over that, but dumped that money into another book that went off that night (IM 100 9.8). That #5 is going to be a tough nut to crack, good luck, post pictures of this stuff when you have time.
  7. I just dont understand why people are still believe this. It would be one thing if there was actual, verifiable proof of this, but there is not. It has certainly occurred in the past (I remember the picture of the long box of Ms. Marvel #1s that made the rounds on these boards a few years ago), but I just don't get how this factors into a market analysis of this book.
  8. The 9.8 #9 limited just went off on ComicLink for around 400 I think. 1 of 3 on census. My least favorite of the limited covers.
  9. Now do all the books you lost $$$ on because of what KCC told you was "the hot book of the week."
  10. Absolutely agree, but in the end, a slab is a slab, shipping literally same day vs. a month later after threatening them, just seems like a fixable problem, but it is what it is. And I am not under any impression the book they delivered is the king of all comic books, but it was just disappointing all the way around, again, because of the BS responses I got from them. But, we all move on. I appreciate your comments and insight!
  11. Alternative idea: declare yourself a sovereign citizen. :Spoon: taxes, having to have a drivers license, and get on livin your life, that L-I-V-I-N.* *Not legal or tax advice. Seek assistance with an attorney or tax professional. Not valid in all states, but definitely the crazy ones like Florida, West Virginia, and Idaho.
  12. And I appreciate that, I really do, and I understand Covid, the holidays and everything else, I just was tired of getting boilerplate responses from them, and its a shame that I have to call my bank and waste my and their time with it. I do seem to have better turnaround with CL, but the absolute best is MCS, I paid for an order last week and they accepted it and shipped it the same day.
  13. way less 9.8s of the MS 28 than I thought there would be, 74 blue label.
  14. Just an update for anyone in this boat of paying for a book a month ago and not getting anything. I called my bank that issued the E-check and told them what was going on, and they said they could initiate a "clawback" action to recover the funds due to the electronic transfer nature of the funds (instead doing an electronic "E-Payment through the bank and the bank issuing a paper check), so I said let me take one last shot with HA first. I let HA know about what my plan was on Thursday of last week and I just got the book today via fed ex, about 50 minutes ago. Good result, just alot of :spoon: to go through to get them to do their job. So here she is, 1 of 6 9.8, worth the wait so far:
  15. GPA has the last sale of Ronin 4 9.8 prior to the one that ended earlier this week being back in 2017. Can you provide a link to this November, 2020 sale?
  16. Just got response to another "when is my book shipping" from HA saying its going to be 2-4 weeks...paid for it on 12/22/20. HA is a joke at this point.
  17. These issues of "9.8 apples are the same as 9.6 apples" and the "Why does this issue of (insert book) in 9.8 sell for way more than this different issue of (insert book from same title) in 9.8?" seem to really resonate with you for some reason.
  18. Not crazy at all, just lack of access to these books in this grade for collectors. Every one of those 6 covers are black, front and back, and thicker cover stock, easy to spot creasing and dings. Only 19 sales on GPA for a 9.8 since 2005. Issue 6 is the white whale, seems impossible to find. Only 4 sales on GPA (literally one per year) since 2016.
