  1. To me, this could be the test case alot of people have been looking for through the years. If all you are trying to do is survive a summary judgment motion on the "CGC Guarantee" limitations (actual damages and arbitration among other things), then this might be the "known or should have known" angle that gets you to the discovery phase. You potentially have a class, which would get rid of the venue issue. Barristers, thoughts?
  2. 😂 I am not sure anyone cares how you react to this, let alone spend any amount of time trying to change how you react to this. Get over yourself.
  3. I submitted 1 book for the J. Scott Campbell signing (books due 10/15/23), and still waiting for the book to be graded, let alone shipped. More CGC nonsense.
  4. 20 year wantlist book finally crossed off. I would have paid way more than I did. Can't express how much joy this brings me.
  5. I had my run in with these clowns about 30 days ago. I simple issue that was incredibly easy to solve, but it just happened to involve around $30,000.00 worth of books that by every account of anyone that would talk to me, were just laying around, out of their slabs, and absolutely no one was in a hurry to resolve a simple issue related to :checks notes: where the books go next in their process. As in, they called me and asked what they are supposed to do with the books I sent, and when I suggested they check the order form that came with the books, they couldn't identify the order number, so I gave it to them over the phone. One CGC employee ended up helping me, and the issue was resolved. However, at some point CGC is going to find themselves on the other end of a civil suit that no doubt they have insurance for, but the discovery phase of such an action could end up not being very kind to them, and provide alot of answers CGC absolutely does not want to talk about, ever.
  6. Love it that you feel that you need to mention that everybody has your permission to buy what they want.
  7. Put @Buzzettain charge of it. He will chase all the money you need; anything he can do to make it so his daily nightmare of actually having to be in a world with people that either don’t have homes or have nothing in particular to do and like to hang out all day are removed from his eyesight and city for that matter. But seriously, I serve on a state-wide food bank board and have for 15 years or so, and we have sunk a ton of time and research on how to raise money. Sometimes the best thing to do is look at it from another perspective. You were talking about a single event in which you sell tickets, get sponsorships, etc. for a night of what sounds like really good music. We have a couple big events spread out through the year, but for the past seven or eight years, we have been doing direct, mailing marketing, and you will mess yourself when you realize how much more money you can raise on a year-round basis, if people will just sign up to give 10, 25, or $50 a month, it’s super easy to hook up to a bank account, Venmo, PayPal, etc., the donor has the option to pick up the fees that go along with it, so, for example, if you make a $25 donation and set it up to be paid the same day every month, the actual charge to your account is $26.14 to cover the cost of the service. Not only does this fundraising outpace are couple tentpole events throughout the year, but it provides working capital and cash flow on a monthly basis instead of one big hit one time a year. The sell is easy, make it real for people: just skip Starbucks three times a month and you’re already in the $20-$25 a month range. Pack your lunch one day a month for work and there’s a $10 a month donation, stuff like that.
  8. Thank you for the message, I didnt see it quick enough. I wish I could have got my hands on a foil; the one available on ebay just went off for $380. The regular cover "E" business card edition (1:10 ratio) is flying off ebay right now. The publisher is doing different "Pierce & Pierce" business card covers for remaining 4 issues in the 5-issue mini-series. Paul Allen is issue #2, David Van Patten is issue #3 so far!
  9. Anyone running into the Sumerian Comics booth for the American Psycho 1 "Business Card" Foil or Steel Editions? I'll make it well worth your while if you can secure a foil edition. PM me!
  10. I was in your big bad dangerous city this weekend. Came by train, so in fact we were at Penn Station. And you'll be happy to know we made it out alive, and shockingly to you, we were not harassed, threatened, or even looked at the wrong way. And we didn't have to step over any bodies like you have to everyday. I was with my kid and wife, and all of us were dragging rolling suitcases, so we absolutely had a badge on us that we were tourists, arriving and leaving the station and then walking the 10 blocks to and from our hotel. I think you have a good thing going with the Charles Bronson Death Wish take on things though. So thoughts and prayers my man, I hope you make it to the Con ALIVE!!!!
  11. Or just use common sense, which applies to anywhere, everywhere. But The Scared of Your Own Shadow Crowd appreciates these PSAs 🙂
  12. Yeah my tween daughter that likes Taylor Swift and rainbows and colored markers that smell like pumpkins; she use short memes to communicate too. Great approach to getting your message across.
  13. Why do you always have to edit whatever you are trying to slick about? Get it right the first time.
  14. In the 2 replies that were posted when you wrote this
  15. Certainly the lawyers won't let CGC guarantee the same grade of a book that is sent in to be reholdered, I get that. Does anyone have any insight into sending in slabbed Pedigree books for the colored Pedigree label in terms of good times, bad times, or just plain old tales of the weird? I have some pedigree books I would like to have the newer label, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the grades. Probably just nerves, but I sure would appreciate anyone having any experience with this.
  16. Will you be at Baltimore this year? Hope so, great books. Nevermind, I found you!
  17. I pointed out that a different perspective than one's own might be worth having a look at from time to time. Your sensitivity issues related to what I wrote are noted however.
  18. Look closely at what you wrote: ‘’I have” ”I might expect” ”I saw” ”I believe” ”I just don’t get it” ”I’m really struggling to understand” ”Basically I’m saying” ”I just cannot justify the going rate” ”I can’t see myself ever paying more” and finally: “What am I missing here?” Seems like what you are missing are perspectives other than the one you completely, unconditionally, 100% rely upon: your own.
