  1. Thank you all for the insight, its appreciated. I will update with what I end up with. Could be nothing, could be books turned into riches beyond my wildest imagination.
  2. Hit a LCS today, and these guys put a bunch of stock out since I was in there about a year ago, and basically doubled their back issue offerings. Found a ton of Dark Horse Star Wars stuff, maybe 1000 books. My problem is I don't have a clue to start with it in terms of whats the good stuff and what to pass on. All of it is in NM/NM+ shape, all of it $3 a pop, and all of it overwhelming frankly. No Star Wars Tales (which I know about and picked up long ago), but pretty much everything else, from say Dark Empire (to mark a start year) to 2014 or so, so like 25 years worth of stuff. Is there a "cheat sheet" type article or anything is working off of to keep up with whats worth buying and what is not? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
  3. Well done and great read. Would love to see a VSS document/ prime, I buy those books instantly when I run into them now and then. Groundbreaking concept in my book.
  4. Its always good to hear from the “humble collector*” that had chance after chance after chance to buy this a grand pre-pandemic.
  5. To be fair, there is no possible way that the movie can be viewed as anything other than the ultimate confluence of the worst of Hollywood and the worst of the excess of the 1970s. Its basically Argo but a real movie.
  6. Well Done. Have a talk with her about Newton Rings and grading invisible comics immediately.
  7. And a book based on a movie with HANDS DOWN the greatest totally gratuitous, no notion of being relevant to the scene or the plot, 100% a demand of the on-set producer and the people that had a skin in the game financially, on-screen nudity. Also HTF in HG.
  8. I was thinking about the Elektra Lives Again softback GN by Miller on the squarebound end. My bad.
  9. Thats astounding and well done. I always loved the books and the covers, and the fact that these books were squarebound made it easier to end up with 9.8s.
  10. Then apparently Magic is a real thing, because I don't think those CBCs disappear just because you take another picture that simply doesnt show what is very obvious in the first picture. And go grab a nap before you reply, okay?
  11. Four color breaking areas on the spine, from SEs head to the shoulder, and that is just what I can make out from the picture...and this is what is passing for a 9.8? Buy the book, not the grade is a real thing.
  12. Just one copy? Ouch, that has to sting a little bit. Gotta do better than that, a lot better.
  13. 9.4 went for $900+ on CLink 3 night ago. EDIT: update on census: 1 9.8 and 10 9.6s instead of 9.
  14. Try to have a look at what you are buying first before you buy it, got it. 😂
  15. Its just so weird to know there are people out there that actually believe what you wrote enough to give in to the urge to well, write it (and post it.) We all need heroes, thank you for your service.
  16. The absolute best part about all of the whining is that whole “CGC is grading INVISIBLE COMICS now!” [clutches pearls] from a week ago is old, old, olllllddddd news, and instead, let’s all sweat the $200 bucks that any normal business just passes on to the customer anyway. this really is the best stuff
  17. Wow. All the way to page 4 until “it’s the principle of the matter” gets brought into the mix. Shame. Shame on you all.
  18. Not shocking in todays world and under the circumstances, but still, well, shocking. God Bless G.I. Joe ARAH #21, the greatest comic of all time, I swear it is.
