  1. I really dug the trailer I like them all young and seeing Johnny tinker around on cars was cool. I don't have high hopes but that wont keep me from seeing it regardless and hoping they pull it off. this title deserves a frnachise the other 2 ff movies were so badly written and horribly acted (except for Torch)

Yeah I liked seeing him working on cars too

I'm much more optimistic now about this movie

  2. Maybe this has already been mentioned, but that might be Dr. Doom on the gurney, the one who appears to be saying something like "get ready for what's coming." It looks like he's wearing a metal mask.

When you see the astronauts walking on the ramp there are at least 5 of them, maybe more, I'll have to go back and count, so one of them could be Victor.

  3. Why not just put a few of those tamper resistant hologram security stickers on each edge?

I have a few different products that use them. They have them over areas where they would have to be removed or torn to get the area open, and if they are, it immediately voids the warranty.

You could put one in the center of each of the four sides.

No way you are sliding a comic past them.

They are about the size of a dime, and wouldn't detract from the visual presentation of the case and book.

Plus they would be cheap in bulk for CGC, and just take a minute to apply

  4. I wonder legally what can be done here.

If MCS is sending the book to CGC, did they ask they consigner if that was ok with them first?

If not, is that even legal?

They can just take the persons book, and call foul on it, and send it somewhere else? What gives them that right or authority?

If the cosigner is aware that this is happening, and approved it, fine, but if not, this doesn't seem right.

We don't know for sure that anything was deliberately done to this book, and if it was, that the current owner is the one that did it.

I would think the right thing to do would be cancel the auction, contact the consigner, and tell them they have some doubts about the legitimacy of the book, and send it back to them, if the cosigner decides to go ahead and send it in to CGC for inspection, fine, but I don't think that's someone else's decision to make.

Of course we all want to see it sent in, and find out what the deal is because we are curious, but think if that was your book, and you knew you didn't do anything to it, and now it's being impounded by MCS and CGC, how would you feel?

I'm just playing devils advocate for a possibly innocent consigner, and wondering what can LEGALLY be done here.

On the other hand, if the consigner did switch out a lower grade book into a higher grade label, than F him, I hope his name gets blasted around the Net, and his rep ruined.

  5. I utterly hate sellers who wont respond. How hard is this? It drives me nuts.

I had an ebay seller I contacted on a Friday get back to me the next Monday and tell me that they leave their office at 5pm on Friday so they don't see any messages/emails until they are back on Monday.

I wondered briefly who in this day and age doesn't have 24/7access to their emails with phones and home pc's, but I guess some folks like living pre 1980 style.

  6. You know average film-goers are not comic book fans. It could just happen that they really appreciate the film, and fans do not.

Do you know any average film goer that liked the first two films? I've never heard anyone say anything (good or bad) about either one.

The only people that "liked" the movies were fanboys. And even most of them (us  ) didn't like them.

I liked both films, I thought the special effects were great, and it was a dream come true seeing my favorite characters come to life on the big screen.

I've seen both at least ten time(rerun on cable constantly)

Slightly goofy, but still very entertaining IMO

  7. I'll buy some slabbed books if they are really cheap and crack them open just to reuse the shells.

I do the same. What's your method for reusing them? Do you put a book in with a bag and board or do you some something more fancy?

Bag with a mylite or mylar. Nothing fancy.

And then I put the label from the cgc case inside the bag on the back side of the board, that way you can see the book, and then flip it over and see the grade

  8. I don't have much to display but this is my desk in my room…

And before anyone worries, I get very little sunlight in my room. I'm on a corner where the sun never shines on my one little window. It looks like it is always overcast and cloudy through my window.

That Silver Surfer poster looks cool, any chance of getting a close up pic of it?

I don't think I've seen that one before
