  1. Yup - it was the positive feel good movie this year sorely needed. I think we've rented it twice already (maybe three times, I suspense my wife watched it again with out me)
  2. Not sure about those, but the one I was following was a coverless/incomplete one that sold for less than $10k.
  3. I can't disclose the exact cost, but I can say it was five figures.
  4. Well, I'm finally out of the epic club as have sold my CGC 5.0 #1 first print (I guess no more weekly random PMs asking if I would sell it). I'm sure I'll regret it one day, but it was a decent chunk of change that went towards both house downpayment savings and buying a bunch of other books I've wanted, including all three CGC first appearances of Hellboy (high grade and even one signed by Mignola), another Tales of Suspense 39 and House of Secrets 92, as well as a few other random comics including a 5th printing of #1 to go with my remaining raw 3rd print (so technically still in the TMNT #1 club, but feels wrong when it isn't my original 1st printing ). Has anybody been able to dig up the press run numbers for the 5th printing? I kept hearing it was less common than the 4th printing, but can't find anything to confirm that.
  5. Please no hall of shamers or probies. Will ship anywhere in North America, and I only accept Pay Pal (or EMT if in Ontario). All prices are in USD. Shipping to Canada or the USA. If in Hawaii please add an additional $8 to help cover the extra shipping costs to you. First timestamped gets it over any pending PM offers. Send me a message with any questions or offers you may have. Detective Comics #77 CGC 5.0 Restored Slight C-1 (small amount of color touch on cover, tear seal to cover) 1st appearance of the Crime Doctor. moved to Ebay The color inks on this copy are crazy great looking, so if you are wanting an early TeC for cheap that you can spot a mile away in the dark this is it. This vivid yellow could be used as an emergency signal to wave down a passing airplane if you were ever stuck on an island The tear seal is at the bottom center of the cover (through the eye dropper and tweezers sitting on the desk. That is where the color touch is as well, my opinion is it should be fairly easy to remove if anyone was interested in going down that path), was also recommended by the prior owner to resubmit it for a PQ bump.
  6. That's all for tonight. Shoot me any questions or offers (really, I'm so used to only dealing with golden age stuff thatI'm fully open to being corrected on my modern pricing
  7. Aliens vs. Predator (1990 Dark Horse) #0-4 Includes issue zero featuring some awesome Mignola art (this issue is FN/VF) moved to another venue
  8. Infinite Crisis (2005 DC) #1-7 Includes Jim Lee Variants, 1st App Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle) moved to another venue
  9. Please no hall of shamers or probies. Will ship anywhere in North America, and I only accept Pay Pal (or EMT if in Ontario). All prices are in USD. Regular air mail shipping will be $6 within Canada, and $8 for anywhere in the USA. First timestamped gets it over any pending PM offers. Send me a message with any questions or offers you may have. Just trying to make some space in my single long box at home and found some nice sets to sell and open up some space Save for one exception (AvP #0) all issues are VF/NM or better (have been bagged and boarded in storage since buying them myself when released, so I'm being very conservative with the grade), and everything looks to be newsstand versions. Open to offers, and happy to discount them much more if you are buying more than one lot (if anyone is interested in all three lots DM me)
  10. Speaking of art purchases, I consider this one (as opposed to a comic purchase). While I am not a Superman fan, I have always loved the cover to Action Comics #36. It is one of those rare covers that just feel like the perfect representation of its era. Bright primary colours, zany wonky robots, punching, and very large depiction of the superhero - all front and centre - making it impossible for this cover to not catch your attention. I bought my copy of it (qualified) last year while on my honey moon (from instagram on my phone, while the two of us waited for our breakfast order pool side at the Chateau Marmont) and thought that would be the end of my Superman purchases. Flash forward to this very month when only now did I learn the cover was actually based on a story (the issue itself features no robots inside, so I assumed it was one of the many 'cover-of-lies' you find on comics). I ended up buying one of the serial pages of this story that originally ran in newspapers in 1940 (predating this cover by about a year). It just arrived and I had a frame waiting for it - Now I can admire both the cover art and the story it was based on all at the same time!
  11. Even though I know little about sericel collecting I could not resist getting this classic cover - one of my favourites (one day I hope to upgrade my CGC copy)! Apparently these were prototypes for a product intended to be sold in a number of galleries and shops at Universal Studios. No contracts were finalized, so never went into mass production. I also picked ups the sericel for the cover of Adventure Comics #52.
  12. Any GA Adventure Comics sitting around, maybe with some Sandman or Hourman covers for little ol' me?
  13. The seller is actually very disappointed....as the high bidder was a flake and didn't pay, likewise the 2nd and 3rd bidders refused to buy it at their last bid rate. So the seller has re-listed it at a fixed price back on Ebay (but is offering it for sale for less on other boards that shall remain nameless)
  14. Good idea (I was actually considering making an offer on this issue, but alas, I'm in Canada) but I recommend emailing CGC first just to confirm it will get the new Pedigree label (as opposed to getting another green label but with the pedigree info added onto it as they typically do)
  15. I loved that song choice, very clever as It feels like they are calling back to Jodorowsky's Dune since Pink Floyd was set to do the music for that movie. Shows they are taking all versions of dune into consideration on how to best bring this epic to the screen. I think the only thing I wasn't a fan of in the trailer was the look of the shields, they just seemed a little generic (but not at all a bad look, so it'll grow on me)
  16. One final long weekend price drop just because I have literally run out of space in my Golden Age CGC box and need room NOW $600. If it doesn't sell for $600 I'll just slot it back into the collection and buy another new storage box to fill up with even more comics
  17. How about a price drop for all those on the fence about its tiny tittle of colour touch NOW $620
  18. True in most cases (especially when lots of past sales data exist on the GPA), but this is a grade point higher and it isn't like this book comes up often with a good looking aligned cover or with bone white pages (even in high grades like that 7.0 - they grade technically high, but have janky mis-wraps and other faults that make the visual presentation suffer). That is also my starting price, so I'm open to offers I would be hella happy to buy any golden age pre-code books like this if someone is marking them down 50% for just super minor color touch (which you might find on universal GA books anyways) - I'll take all of those please
  19. Just adjusted the price, cause why the hell not: Priced to match the previous 7.0 that sold last month. Easy peasy!
  20. Please no hall of shamers or probies. Will ship anywhere in North America, and I only accept Pay Pal (or EMT if in Ontario). All prices are in USD. Tracked Shipping will be $12 within Canada, and $17 for anywhere in the USA. First timestamped gets it over any pending PM offers. Send me a message with any questions or offers you may have. Worlds of Fear #3 Fawcett Publications, 1952 White Pages! CGC 7.5 Slight (C-1) Here's something you don't see everyday, a crisp high grade copy of World's of Fear #3 (Fawcett, 1952)! This issue is notoriously hard to find in high grade due to the amount of black on both the front and back covers, but this copy looks as if it was printed yesterday with colors that are super vibrant (pics really don't do this one justice). Also a rarity for this issue is the perfect cantering of the fantastic Sheldon Moldoff front cover art, as this run had some very wonky visually unappealing mis wraps/mis cuts on the books (which you can see on the back cover, but the front cover is perfect). Edges are SUPER sharp and crisp on this book, and the page quality is a legendary WHITE PAGES. This is the ONLY graded copy ever offered for sale that has pure WHITE page quality. All other certified copies of this issue have had lesser page quality, including the lone higher grade copy (CGC 9.0 Pedigree had OFF-WHITE pages), the next closest best being a lower CGC 7.0 that had "OFF-WHITE to WHITE" page quality (however that issues front cover suffered from a mis-wrap - see below). There is some restoration by way of a "Small amount of color touch on cover", it is an extremely small amount located along the spine only (and it was predominantly located near the top staple, in fact the CT covers the staple making it blend into the solid black cover - something I actually think looks good. No bleed through into the interior comic). This copy is one of the highest on census, tied with two other issues at 7.5 behind a lone 9.0. I encourage you to check out those copies on ha.com and compare the looks of those books to this one, as this copy even gives the 9.0 a run for its money (this copy has better edges/corners and PQ, though the 9.0 has a no mis-wrap on the back cover). Sorry about the reflections in the case, this one was crazy hard to photograph well. Not a good deal of GPA data on this issue, but a universal 7.0 sold last month on comic connect for $643us (see below for the visual appeal of that issue. This is one of those 'buy the book, not the grade' situations with how perfect the front cover presents on my copy). Asking $640 $600 Last sale:
