  1. Agree with the rest here, after a pressing I could see 8.5 but for sure hitting an 8.0 (I have a graded 8.0 and this looks a little cleaner than mine)
  2. Have had this issue for a good part of my life now and always meant to find a nice higher grade copy...but I was lazy and the prices have shot up like crazy due to the upcoming movie, so I think i'll have to be content with this for now. Some notes: Has the typical black spine wear that you see on this issue, some non color breaking creases on the cover which could be pressed out, and the major issues are some tape on the inside front cover that is holding a tear together (can't see it on the front, it's a very well aligned fix) and one smaller tear on the back cover. Otherwise a very nice issue, tight staples, no other issues. Would love to know what i've got here, as I remember I bought it advertised as Fair/Good condition never really gave it much thought. Front Cover: Inside Front Cover with Tape: Spine: Back Cover: Back Cover Tear:
  3. It wasn't bad, more like uninspired and boring. The idea of someone being able to copy superpowers seems less interesting to me than the ability to copy fighting styles / movement. One means a copy/paste of digital effects, with no real visual diversity, while the other could show a person doing some very odd feats of acrobatics / fighting (as well as pulling out some very fun references; ie bruce lee, street fighter character moves, spider-man)
  4. I'm optimistic, but it's hard to remain so after reading 'based on the Ultimate version'
  5. The recent sales on a few 8.0 are nuts, I have an 8.0 as well which I valued at $1,500 last week when doing an inventory (been away from collecting for about a year due to other hobbies) and guess I need to revise some numbers
  6. That is wrinkling on the comic itself, but the issue will be cleaned and pressed before grading (I'm gonna eat the cost and see how it turns out as an experiment, there are so few of these anyways in the census, let alone in good condition). I also agree an 8.5 might be where its at right now (that was my guess prior to posting), and i'll cross my fingers for a higher PLOD.
  7. Yup - looking at it now 100% color touch. It was VERY slight and an excellent color matching, and I didn't notice it until now (nor did the original owner of this, as CT was never mentioned but the possible trimming was clearly stated). So 100% no way in hell this isn't restored - which means even though the pages are not straight is is 99% a trim job as well since the edges are so perfect. So a 9.2-9.6 (I would guess) Trimmed with minor color touch isn't the worst thing for what I paid for it considering I bought it just because its an amazing cover and looks beautiful.
  8. The one piece of conservation/restoration equipment of mine that broke and I haven't replaced yet of course! I'm honestly kinda feeling like its more exciting at this point to just gamble on this and see how wonky it comes back, just for the boards entertainment benefit SO...lets go assuming the magical best case scenario of no color touch, and it isn't trimmed: What's everyones guess on grade?
  9. I was suspicious of color touching as well, but honestly if its there it is a VERY good job. There is absolutely zero bleed-through on anything in the inside, and the black matt/gloss is consistent across the cover except for a few scuffs (one being near the staple where I was originally suspect of it being CT).
  10. Took some more photos. In one case it looks like a V but the opposite direction (pointing in).
  11. I'll check this out tonight and see if I can get a macro shot like that of the edges.
  12. Isn't it such a tantalizing curiosity - as it was obviously already a great looking issue, so why trim it in the first place. I've checked for color touching as well and there isn't any (that i'm at least certain about) but it is the overhang that i'm worried about. I'm almost tempted to roll the dice and gamble on seeing what CGC says about it (translation: loose hard cause i'm awful at gambling.)
  13. More pictures of the edges just to be sure, and of the spine to show the staples being in the right spots and looking great.
  14. Been out of the comic world for over a year and have found myself rusty with grading, so heed my call and cast your excellent judgments upon this comic!! What we have here is a nice looking copy of Worlds of Fear #3. Colors are very vibrant, and has just general surface wear, while its staples are perfect and tight. Now my fear (and a world of it!) with this issue is....the edges look too good for its age, does mean it might be trimmed? All the interior pages look very mis-cut, and even the cover wrap seems to have been printed off (note the amount of black from the front cover that is rolled onto the back cover). So half of me says it is a factory mis-cut since its so consistent across the issue, but the other half is paranoid about getting it back as trimmed from grading. I recall the original seller also being worried it was trimmed, but nothing conclusive was ever figured out. Has not been pressed, but will be prior to grading (if I feel confident it is only a factory mis-cut) Images in the spooky spoiler:
  15. Thanks! This was actually my first, and currently only, comic with any sort of 'providence' to it - so was unsure of where 'File Copies' stood on the pedigree scale of importance.
  16. I only just noticed that some of my old horror comics have had a giant increase in price since I purchased them (maybe five years ago?). I was most surprised about Chamber of Chills #23 which I picked up for about $120 (already graded), and even then was surprised that such a good looking comic could be only a 4.5 (Out of all my comics, this is the one with the most impressive color and never fails to make me stare at it - still vibrant to this day) Question to those in the know - how desirable is a File Copy pedigree for such a comic, and what kind of price modifier could I expect on it (If any)?
  17. Just a heads up but due to the forum merge it seems my username defaulted to my CGC name of edZio (My name Eddie/Edward in Polish). As a result please know that any previous posts or feedback referring to Sauce Dog is referring to me (until I can get a name re-changed back)
  18. Nice - I just gave away this three issue mini series to a friend who has introduced his 3 year old boy to the turtles cartoon and loves em. Figured this comic series would make for an excellent starting point they can read together as it was both family friendly and fairly simple
  19. I'll take this bad-boy at 10% off if you would consider shipping to Canada
  20. It will make a billion. Looks like China isn't much of a help though from what I've read. Cap: CW #1 WW in 2016. Would have thought R1 would pass it but that's not happening. All thanks to one market, China. It makes sense that the Marvel movies are bending over backwards not to offend the Chinese. Star Wars clearly doesn't appeal to that market. Not due to a lack of 'appeal' but rather lack of nostalgia to help fuel new interest. The first Star Wars movies they got in theaters was Phantom Menace. I know if that was MY first exposure to Star Wars I wouldn't be rushing out to see the other movies with the same vigor & passion I did after being raised on the original trilogy.
  21. Well all of Tarkins scenes were on a darker death star while Leia's were on the Tontine IV which we saw in the original movies as being all white and bright. So i think they were stuck trying to match the original sets.
  22. One of the best series ever (I choose to only read up to 'God Emperor of Dune') and can't wait for this.
