  1. NATIONAL COMICS #16 Apparent 2.0 ow-w pages Someone colored in Uncle Sam's lapels with a layer of blue ink, and then maybe tried to erase some of it. Cover is detached, 1" spine split at bottom, 2" tear at bottom of cover. The "10" written next to Uncle Sam gouges through the cover. $1200 Now $1100
  2. NATIONAL COMICS #7 EX-CGC 6.0 (CONSERVED) OW-W pages Spine split seal, cover reinforced, staples replaced. Cracked out of case, but still in sealed inner well. I think CGC was a bit generous with the grade as looking at the spine through the well it looks like was about 50% split prior to repair. That said, it has killer eye-appeal. $3000 Now $2800
  3. FIGHTING YANK #13 Apparent 2.5 OW-W pages Schomburg cover. There is a thumbnail sized piece at the bottom of the cover that has adhered to the splash page. It looks like the piece was torn off after adhesion as it took a bit of paper from the inside front cover with it, and I don't know if was glue or some other substance that caused it to stick, but if glue I imagine it might get a "restored" label if slabbed. There is also a 3" spine split at bottom and cover is detached from bottom staple, though secure at top. $850 SOLD VIA PM
  4. ZIP COMICS #22 CGC .5 OW-W pages. ( I'd guess this would be a Qualified 2.5 if graded that way) Centerfold is missing, and 2/3rds of page 13 ( or 25/26 for anyone other than CGC) is torn out. Pretty decent eye appeal for the grade on the cover, the reason this book is in such demand. Label and book scans are stitched together. $4000 Now $3600
  5. MARVEL MYSTERY #74 CGC 7.5 OW to W pages Schomburg cover. Not a war one alas, but cool Timely Club reference. There is a small bit of white smutz under the slab near the top right. $2000 Now $1800

  7. Some GGA covers are pretty sexy, but I don't know that I've heard one referred to as a bonage cover before.
  8. For me the chipping would keep it in the 2.5/3.0 range, but CGC might be a bit more lenient.
  9. 2.5 all day, the cover is attached, no big spine splits, no pieces missing or defacing, no big stains or color pulls, no tape, and the creasing isn't super heavy. I wouldn't argue with 3.0, though it might be on the weak side.
  10. There aren't enough pulp sales on the boards to warrant a separate selling forum.
  11. There are currently 32 threads with posts from the last 24 hours in GA/SA and 15 in C/M. If they get combined stuff is going to get pushed to page 2 in half a day, and those only interested in one or two sequential eras will have that much more to wade through. One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is an allowable overlap between the two, maybe allowing anything from 1980-85 to be put in either the bronze or copper forums as some sellers may have parts of runs they are selling that overlap into another era even if it's mostly from one or the other. I'm sure those who are interested in "cronze age" books already check both forums anyway, so they would be unlikely to miss out on books.
  12. If I have something that hasn't sold for a while, I sometimes raise the price. The item then sells more frequently than you might think.
  13. It's pretty clear he thinks the parents died in a traffic accident in 1972, so presumably it was other family members who brought the collection to Beerbohm after they died. I understand his wanting to correct the record as to preferring the pedigree be referred to as the O'Reilly pedigree and not the San Francisco pedigree, but his constant grousing about everyone else in the hobby alienates people. I get the impression he's just cranky he didn't salt away more of the incredible books that passed through his hands in the 70s until they became far more valuable.
  14. I've sold a few in the GA sales forum, though they generally sell better on ebay in my experience.
