1. See post below. This thread happened on the old boards after the migration to the new boards had been completed. The content of the thread has been pasted below, for reference. Note: The post below is best viewed in Chrome, Firefox or most mobile browsers. It may not render correctly in Internet Explorer.
2. What file format are they? Maybe not aren't in a recognized image format?
3. What's your browser/device/screen resolution, Vintage?
4. What's the screen resolution on the PC?
5. At that point there was a goof in configurations and some people had no limit on their uploads. When you uploaded that stuff, you saved a bunch of 9MB images on the system, which actually caused some issues (along with others who were doing it) with file space. My fault. Not yours. BUT, I just changed the test to try a much higher limit on the uploads - 100mb. Try to do some uploads now and see what you get please. @skypinkblu
6. Hello all, We have tweaked the settings for attaching images. Please try them out and let us know if they're working alright for you. Here is how it functions: When you upload an image, the files you start with needs to be less than 100MB The boards will automatically reduce the size of any attachment to a max of 1000 x 1500 pixels It will display in your post at a maximum of 800 x 1200 pixels. If your image is bigger than the thumbnail max, then people can click on the picture to see it more full screen If your image is even too big to fit in the zoom in, they can click the Full Size link the lower left of the black border to see it in a new tab The real result of this is that your final attached image, even if it starts pretty huge, gets shrunk and scaled by the boards for you without doing anything down to a decently small file size. This helps everyone's pages load faster. Give it a try and please let me know if there are any pain points.
7. On what browser/device/screen size?
8. There are cards at the top of a message showing the message participants and whether they have read everything in the PM. Here is the mobile view.
9. By the way, this is now very similar to the exact same setup from the old boards.
10. Ads are unlikely to be eliminated. The money for those spots helps fund a portion of the community tools. They are directly customers of CGC, so their relevance is better than randomized eBay ads. We can't sideline them so that people don't look at them or they won't be doing their job. "Unnecessarily" isn't quite on target for the situation.
11. That ability isn't off to edit titles. However, your initial post is 2 years old, and editing in general on the new boards is set to the same thing it was in the old boards - one year.
12. Wait, are you clarifying that this was resolved and doesn't need to go on the probation list, or stating that he SHOULD go on and no one updated it?
13. So that just means that the probation list wasn't updated with his name. The thread can just be left alone. ALTHOUGH, I considered turning on the Mark As Sold function that I turned on in the marketplace in here, to allow people to close threads that resolved without a probation entry. The tag of "sold" that it adds is weird in this context, though.
14. Hey, We also can control the initial display size of an attached photo as a thumbnail - this allows you to click through to the large version of the scan, while minimizing the initial appearance in the thread. Right now it's set for a max of 800x1200, which is almost the full size we currently allow. This makes the initial view quiet large, and the larger zoom in not that much bigger. QUESTION: Would it be better to make the initial view of the attached image very thumbnail-sized by default? Much smaller? Saving scroll time past images you don't want to look at? (Please think about all places this would occur, sales threads, grading help threads, "club" threads, etc.) @crassus @Doohickamabob @divad @bronze_rules @skypinkblu
15. Lots of views few replies. Are you guys boycotting my question or did I just get too technical?
16. Here is another point of reference: 1.9MB JPG 2550x3509 pixels YOU WILL NEED TO RIGHT CLICK AND VIEW IN A NEW WINDOW TO SEE ITS TRUE SIZE AND THEN CLICK ON IT TO FULLY ZOOM IN http://i.imgur.com/yN53OUy.jpg&key=bb75595d423a8cc7bdf5b347172520f88a8907d9e3850d2d739075f334619e7e
17. Here is an example for reference / gut check. The below image (that I stole from the grading forum) is: 284KB JPG 915 x 1365 pixels YOU MAY NEED TO RIGHT CLICK AND OPEN IN A NEW WINDOW TO SEE IT FULL SIZE if your resolution is low
18. Hi all, I have seen some people noting that it's frustrating to attach an image that is too large, and that they don't want to have to re-size those images themselves. There IS a setting on the boards that automatically re-sizes images to constrain file size. HERE is how it works: We set a maximum width and height of pixel dimensions. Anything attached to a post that is larger than that gets sized down to the maximum dimensions. If the dimensions we set are reasonable, we can probably tune the file size limit and the automatic re-sizer to play well together (avoiding problems like a resized image is still too big too attach). BEFORE I go down this path, though, I wanted to get some feedback from everyone about what a the maximum needed width and height of an image would be for the general purposes on the boards - e.g. selling threads, asking for grading opinions, etc. What do you guys think is needed?
19. This marketplace post has not followed the marketplace posting guidelines, so the thread has been locked. Please review the rules and re-post. If everything required is listed in your post, and you appear to meet the guidelines, it's possible that this has been reported for being listed as for sale somewhere else besides this board. If that's the case, the post belong in the eBay / Advertising forum.
20. Really, guys? How have I never noticed this little abuse before? What is the point of padding your post counts? You're just making the boards run slower by adding content no one cares about.
21. Well, I left a pointer to here in the old place. Maybe everyone's been good?
22. You could convert it to IPB code like the code below - and can even use a converter like this one. Wonder Woman #101 October 1958 Although I haven't rated any of these issues, this issue would get high marks for art and story. Pure SA fantasy at its best! First story: "Undersea Trap!" 23. The code tags are for displaying code without having it render. Actual HTML is disallowed on the boards in order to prevent hacking / abuse --- not that you would do it, but it's kind of an everything or nothing proposition.
24. Just go to your notifications settings and adjust them how you would like them.
