  1. Happy to support that store if you want to pick me up a copy.
  2. Sadly this is typical of my experiences with them as well in the past. I swore them off awhile back. Last comment on this very specific situation, but to further show Graham Cracker's "service", they liked a post by a random stating "Sometimes losing a customer is a total win". Again, without ever contacting me directly, or speaking with me about my particular issue. They just keep reiterating that they don't have a record of my subscription in their physical sheets, which I agree with, but that is not my story. Was going to give them the benefit as they are close and I've had a pull list there for 8+ years but now forget them.
  3. Huh? Are you seeing them readily available online or in shops?
  4. Mentioned in Star Wars Adventures 30 also I believe, but not actual appearances. Admittedly I am not caught up on all of this, but is the 1:10 High Republic #1 their "actual appearance" or is that a sub-group or different entity than that found in Adventures #1?
  5. Call them out - Graham? Yes, this is Graham Crackers. I made mention of this entire issue to them and they seemed well less than interested in talking with me to see what happened or to try and make it right. I suppose I have seen issue above cover on release day before — though it is extremely rare — but 5x cover? If you are so worried about a “flipper” grabbing all copies (which they could still do at $10 each) limit it to one copy. Or, you know, since you have 11 locations across the country, you’re doing fine and don’t worry about this one issue.
  6. I made a post on IG to let the larger corp know of my disappointment. Sad Larry from Mass @LarrysComics jumped in for no reason to comment and say my claims weren't credible b/c I sell comics. I guess he is the only one who can sell comics (not that this has anything to do with my pull list).
  7. At my store the Hans "variant" was $20. Cover A and B were $10, and the 1:10 was $12. Since the Hans was not a ratio variant, the only way the store priced it up to $20 was to look at eBay. And this is not some mom-and-pop store, this is a large presence with nearly a dozen stores.
  8. I asked three weeks ago to add HR to my pull list. The manager said he ordered twice as many so it shouldn’t be a problem for me to find a copy. A few things: 1. He did not add it to my pull so I had to get one off the shelves. 2. He never told me it would be above cover price. 3. Had I not been there in the first 30 mins of opening I wouldn’t have found a copy. I’m fine with ratio variants priced more, but everything else should be cover and then limit to one person. And the stores, if run correctly, make enough profit off of charging $9 for a cruddy Superman reboot that they shouldn’t pick and choose to raise prices on “good” comics.
  9. If I would have known my local store was jacking up the price to $10 I would have spent my money with a random on eBay for cheaper.
  10. I was the first inside my LCS today. All of the High Republic copies were marked up, even the regular cover. Not a good practice IMO.
  11. Right, if you have a $2K budget for spending at conventions ... with that said, conventions are still happening, just maybe not the big ones? I am shocked the little ones in new jersey are still happening, but apparently they are. Even with the craziness in LA I still think they are having a small show there the end of this month. I am not as attuned to small shows out in Chicagoland compared to @jsilverjanet but there has been almost nothing -- big or small -- in the vicinity since March. Including the Milwaukee area, I would say maybe 6 shows last year?
  12. True. IMO it is also the lack of conventions and LCS to supply the comic you are looking for. While there are other sites -- some specific to a single dealer -- the biggest game on the internet is still eBay (and it's a one-stop shop as opposed to cycling through 10 dealer sites who are probably mostly pricing based on eBay anyway). If you *need* a TMNT #1 you look on eBay and there are limited options; as they get bought up the FOMO kicks in and off we go.
  13. Whoever is doing that practice is a smart savvy buyer. It’s a somewhat new market and folks are buying early. It’s better to buy than wish you did.. even if a $40 book doesn’t become $80.. you could probably still sell your $40 for $40 Like this recent auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/233837541357 No keys really in there at all but sold for $28 per. I picked up 8 of those 10 for $1. Now to see if I have the other two lying around somewhere...
  14. @jsilverjanet Is this the guy we know from awhile back?
  15. Lucien Draay on the cover. That's who Revan is speaking to in the panels. Thanks. I have not read any of these so when I saw #9 prices and listings I assumed the hot first appearance was the cover guy. Now knowing it’s actually fully-cloaked-the-whole-time guy... I don’t feel bad missing that issue.
  16. Is that from a preview or the comic itself? Is it a silent issue like GI Joe 21? Does she do words? Love it.
  17. DAVE you are on my Kudos board! You were one of my early transactions, I mean C'mon isnt that evidence?? LOL The ID did sound familiar but I could not place it late last night. Apologies, then, on two levels: 1. Jumping the gun (though now a sneaky second chance offer makes sense) and 2. That you were probably swindled by this seller on a rather expensive book. If I can help you out here, send me a PM.
  18. It’s possible you are caught in the middle of this and it’s also possible you are BBC. Unfortunately it’s going to take real evidence at this point.
