  1. Hmmm, if they are saying Wanda is a mutant b/c she had powers all along, aren't all of those other witches -- including Agatha -- mutants, too, then?
  2. If there is a big bad yet to be revealed in the final episode, is he/she/it carried over into the Falcon and Soldier show? (I have read nothing about the plot for that show so this may be a dumb question.)
  3. F, madness I hit the damn buy it now on that book and it sold. I am pissed I did not get it. I am even trying to trade my Avengers Annual 10 to get that book. I going to pull the trigger soon either way. Trading an Avengers Annual #10 for a Blue Legend #1 makes sense, probably tilted in AA's favor b/c Rogues' a more established (and multi-film) character. What doesn't make sense is that either of those books are $500+.
  4. Asking a reason on investors as far as why now. A lot of people are looking for answers on these dramatic increases, but I have yet to see a definitive answer. So, in that same vein, just my thoughts. Taking GSXM 1 for example, as you said, this has been a key for a long time as well as rumored for a large film re-launch for years. Those collectors who wanted a copy six years ago but didn't have $500 (or spent that money on another key) don't all-of-a-sudden have $5000 to buy it. Similar to the sports card (and non-sports card) market of late, there is big money to be made in a short turnaround. As opposed to the stock market, some invest in these entities due to nostalgia -- that is a driving factor; there is also the potential to buy a card for $1000 and turn it into $5000 much faster than any stock. Not to mention the myriad of ways to "adjust the market" in one's favor in a hobby versus a regulated market with oversight, fines, and jail time possible.
  5. Sandman 1 and 8 in CGC 9.8 are very close to $1000. #8 may be over that mark already.
  6. Why now though? The last several months have seen unbelievable gains. What has changed. We’ve known about X-men coming back to Marvel for a long time now. What about all the other books, Spider-Man, fantastic four, etc. Are you saying these are Collectors instead? Or asking for a reason on Investors?
  7. IMO, the (vast?) majority of these multi-thousand dollar prices are being realized due to Investors not Collectors.
  8. So what is the book and who is the seller?
  9. Pretty sure I will be there. Nice to get out of the house and browse comics.
  10. I have no problem with creators doing this. They do not get paid a ton to begin with, and their career peaks are rather short for the most part, so they need to cash in while they can. I hope every decent artist does this and sells out every issue. Now, when the publishers do it with hack jobs on ratio variants or use internal page artwork as the variant covers to cut corners, I am not a fan of that. Can't disagree with that; an artist should get paid for his/her work, especially when most of these comics sell only due to the cover art. However, in this case, the artist already created a cover, then keeps slightly tweaking it and slapping on a higher ratio/price tag (whether that is the artist's choice or the publisher, it's probably on a case-by-case basis). If you are making art people like and are paying for it, then make more art. Don't add a filter and double the price. How is "the same thing but darker" different than a Publisher using an internal page? -- both are previous pieces being re-used. (And, specific to this artist, his penchant for re-using a swipe over and over again for these "special" variants.) But, all to him, and to the buyers who got in early and are reaping the rewards.
  11. Next version: only the red and yellow glows. Next next version: 50/50 limited split with one only red and the other only yellow. You better get online early to make sure you get both or else You. Missed. Out. Different art: sure, I guess. Same cover just darker: suckas.
  12. Exactly. Once they’re out of the bag all the cards are the most expensive variant version.
  13. I saw some listed as negative but didn’t see the reason.
  14. I mean if Sasha’s got fire and he’s throwing up gansgsters on the trading table at the end of the day, ride it ‘til it dies.
  15. Were some / any of these cards ever worth money before now? If I had any I would sell now and buy a nice comic or two I have my eye on.
  16. Leave X-Men #4 alone; I’m going to retire off of it once Omega is cool again.
  17. No, not saying risking a job would be worth it for comics (or most things). Asking in general about restrictions.
  18. The land borders going both ways are closed to essentially everyone except commercial traffic like truckers. Americans driving up to Alaska are allowed in but there have been numerous situations were they were lying and used the opportunity to vacation in Canada. I think they have tightened up this loop holes. You can still fly to and from Canada and the US but it is supposed to be for essential travel but just say some aren't really essential travel. If you fly to the US from Canada and back, currently there are 2 week quarantine rules both ways so it will not be practically at this time. There have been stories of Canadian snowbirds shipping their cars down to the US and taking a short flight over so they can drive to Florida. In Canada are those 2-week quarantines closely monitored? I cannot speak for all of the US but where I'm at it's basically an honor system of staying inside/away during that time.
  19. We don’t know when and if the Canada/USA border will stay closed until to July/August. Last what I understand was that it is closed until end of March, then government may review again to keep it closed further longer. Not that it matters to me with Wizard Chicago as I can’t go there ... but the food and comics swap does sound great. I was totally ignorant of this. So you are saying you can't drive across the border (as you would have to if lugging boxes of comics), but it's cool to fly across? Or can't cross at all? And is this restriction from both Canada and USA or one-sided? Meaning, are you free to go to the USA but then can't come back?
  20. I can’t believe a CGC 6.0 of that sold for $250. (Also surprised that graded at a 6.0.) Nice buys!
