    What size slab is that?

Is it the same size as the Silver Age comic?

    Yes it is

I don't know the exact size of a Golden Age Shadow...but that seems like a *lot* of extra room on the side.

Is this some new slab size slightly below magazine?

I have a couple GA slabs next to me and they fit in the slab with barely any space on the sides. Not only that, but if you are going to give some extra room for a GA book, don't press one side directly against the well.

Is there a reason you're pushing these through Heritage -- which it appears they are lumping most into group lots -- as opposed to selling here? Is the Heritage bump that great when it comes to your net?

I took my entire collection to them. Some sell individually, some in groups. It is what it is.

So this is them splitting your 1 collection around various auctions, not you continually sending them additional books?

I always use terapeak right on ebay

I know you know, but for those that don't (and while it lasts) here is how I get there:

    My eBay Drop-down (top-right) -> Selling.

From the choices across the top choose "Research".

Put your terms in the search bar and go find it. It doesn't appear the results are automatically filtered by most recent or oldest sale date.

How do you *know* the bolded statements above?

Not the 200 copies printed rabbit hole as we've been there before, but that "maybee up to half" are damaged or error copies?

What constitutes an error copy? Is that damage from the factory? Damage (creased spines) from owners?

The damaged copies is a rumor that's been floated for more than a decade now.  On other boards dealers said they received damaged copies and sent them back for returns but no replacements were sent out they just got a credit on their account.  The damage is almost always streaks on the back cover or a chewed up spine and they were delivered by Diamond that way.  Like I said I've never seen one with ink transfer on interior pages like this one.

    Ahh, hearsay.

That's a production defect. The ink on that dark page hadn't dried yet and transferred to the opposite page.  That's a bummer.  Lots of damaged /error copies of this book out there. Maybee up to half of the 200 copies printed.  Does CGC even factor something like that into the grade though?  Does it get a green label ? CGC will.definitely scrutinize this book, assuming it even gets submitted.  I presume the defect is why it never was in the first place.  I'd probably just put it in a nice full back and leave it raw.

2 different collections currently being discussed:

    1. Fantast collection

    2. Instagram Golden Age collection (only a small % of recent posts); most/all (?) sent to CGC and coming back with a BOBBY BLUE (wtf?) label note. (If that doesn't show money talks with CGC...)

    2. Adding to the Bobby Blue Collection - Most or all of these are on their way to ComicConnect so that’s where we can expect them to surface. I asked them  about a book when I first saw the post with a Dynamic Comics 8.

Yeah, I saw the posts on the collection pretty early and inquired about a couple books. Eventually they said almost everything is getting graded, and most (?) going to CC.

Probably wouldn't have been able to afford them raw and via direct sale anyway.

I guess we had different experiences as I was definitely not charged as soon as the box was opened, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And these TATs don't seem horrendous...

Going through my emails I had 2 orders last year: a walkthrough (3 comics) and a modern pre-screen (25).

    Walkthrough Order created 1/17/22

Walkthrough Received 7/21/22 (was with a non-CCS presser before this)

    Walkthrough Shipped 7/29/22

    Walkthrough CC charged 7/28/22

    Pre-Screen Order created 6/10/22

    Pre-Screen Received 7/28/22

    Pre-Screen Shipped 9/1/22

    Pre-Screen CC charged 9/1/22

Same timing for an order of October 2021; Received 10/6/21; Shipped and Charged 10/26/21.

    Expand

We ship every week on Thursday. It gets there Tuesday. They open it by Friday and it's charged. I can't say they charge COMPLETELY in advance, as they did some of the work (open box, input submission) before charging. But toward the end of the process? No.

I don't know what to say other than that's a completely different order of events than every order I have put in with CGC for grading.

However, as can be seen from my above post, I haven't submitted in a bit and I don't submit often.

If your submission is to be pressed then graded, you will be charged by CCS for pressing when it hits your dashboard. Then it's pressed.

When it leaves CCS and goes to CGC for grading, it again hits your credit card for that service.  So, no, they don't wait until they ship.

If the sub doesn't need pressing, you are charged by CGC as soon as they open the box, go through the intake process, and load it onto your dashboard.  Sometimes there is a little lag, but not much these days.

The only time they charged near the end of the process was when they were swamped, because the TATs were horrendous.
