  1. Quick MB pics. My setup isn't much, especially compared to Brad's Mega Wall.
  2. Way to miss the point. Time to move on. Following a conversation is hard.
  3. I will echo what was already said: a very good show for me as well. I was able to get rid of 4-5 short boxes and made 25x table cost. I didn't buy much (as my goal was to downsize) but I was able to snag an ASM 300 which walked in the door. I'm hoping it fits in with my upgrade plan. This show (specifically in DuPage) continues to be a great 1-day show; it brings in buyers loving to dig in $.25/$.50/$1 boxes as well as those looking for correctly priced keys. Mega Booth was a resounding success and I think we're all going to be back in February, after some hibernation. A great time with Hector, Brad, and Roger.
  4. True; very true. The other IL MightyCon was not so good. It seems like Wisconsin is getting a lot of good comic traffic these days; wonder what gives?
  5. It has happened -- thanks to a lot of help from my wife. All 50% off books are priced and sorted. 14 short boxes total: 1 box of free comics 6 boxes of $1 comics (these will become 2/$1 at some point during the show) 5 1/2 boxes of 50% off 1 1/4 boxes of JSC + Hughes ($3 ea) 1/4 boxes of wall books (20% off) Additional random GA and wall books that are too wide for the shortboxes
  6. I expect 100% sell-through so everything needs a price.
  7. I have buckled under self-pressure; doing a mad-dash of pricing and organizing the next two nights to be ready.
  8. So even using the after-selling-determine-purchase-price math, the remaining items cost $0, not "less than zero", right?
  9. So the purchase price of a book is determined once you sell other stuff to cover it? OK...
  10. I would argue it's either: $20/300 (or however many in a longbox) = $0.067 or $0 if you are determining the cost of a book after the fact
  11. Fixed that for ya! Less than zero? Someone paid you to have these? Oh, and MGN #4 is heating up (again).
  12. A new baby takes up a lot of time... But I think this means, overall, great news for buyers as I need space, don't have time, and find a lot of stuff moving to $1 boxes.
  13. I'm just messing with him... maybe. Who are these pals?
  14. Family coming over and then some food poisoning this week prevented me from making as much headway as I wanted. Good news: A lot of previously "As Priced" comics are making their way to $1 boxes A lot of previously "Not For Sale" comics are making their way to the show (divided between $1 and As Priced) Bad news: $1 boxes may not be organized May have to commit a selling cardinal sin and have some new back-stock not priced until I get to the show (or someone pulls it to buy it) No pics yet
  15. I will definitely be representing wall/key books at MEGA-BOOTH! With a (very) small mattering of Golden Age. I don't normally bring slabs, but if there is a desire (and room) I can bring those. I'm hoping to gather stock together this weekend; will provide picks of what I'm bringing to get those juices flowin'.
  16. The lighting (or lack thereof) was a surprise on Friday night. You had a great setup, but the primo location was not so primo on Friday with the lights turned down. I was interested to see what Dreamland had -- as they had good books at another con a while ago -- but they didn't bring any comics at all. I spent nearly all my time at one dealer's $0.50 boxes because I randomly flipped and found an Adam Hughes issue I had not seen before along with weird indie stuff. Since the weird indie stuff is usually marked as junk outright by sellers, I decided to look through all of their boxes for treasure. I found some good stuff, but based on the time to drive to the show, dig through boxes, and now drive back, my energy was gone.
  17. Hey Dave - I was at Count-i-Con this year (albeit only Friday night), and from what I saw Friday -- and read from your sales report -- Mighty Con has more comic buying. Not all Mighty Cons are created equal (the one not in DuPage was kind of sad), but it does draw the *right* crowd.
  18. Since you are/were a Spidey completist, do you know where this one comes from?

  20. No idea if the Street Fighter is rare or not, but it's Malibu and cheap
  21. Since we're back on newsstands, I will return with some pickups from a recent show.
