Don't you find it odd that the Priest is human, when everyone else but the groom is a skeleton? Now, the groom is quite understandable given the subject matter, (although some would say for a more true approach the groom really should be the only skeleton portrayed at a wedding ceremony. ) but why the Priest? I wonder if the Holy Man was also originally drawn as a corpse, but an editorial change was made as to not be found too offensive given the era.
Anyway, this is the stuff that keeps me awake at night...
