Also, just as an aside - Modern comics are leaps and bounds better than old comics from a technical perspective.  It's night and day.  But those early stories are literally the bedrock from which all others have to measure up.  And with the way nostalgia works, there's a large portion of comics readers that will never give moderns a chance or just dismiss them for the sake of being "modern."  It's the same with music.  If someone ever tells you music isn't as good now as it was in X decade, there's a VERY good chance their opinion on music isn't worth listening to. 
 
That being said, my favorite quote about that is, "Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it."

With the cost of dream grails out of reach for many what is the next best book you've brought or are hunting for instead? It occurred to me it's like the real estate market when the price of homes in a certain suburb rise too high, people tend to look for a house in a cheaper neighbouring suburb.
My example is GSX1 & even UXM94 are both books I would love to have, but are a bit rich for my budget, so I picked up this as a next best thing...

 

I know not many people followed, but it appears everything has been resolved, at least for now. Long story short, I got screwed in the transition to management payments and it took them awhile to figure out exactly what the glitch was or what was causing my account to be continually suspended.  I have been back up and running for a little bit now, so thought I would share something I learned, especially if you do not have the eBay "concierge" service...
Trying to find a time when a live agent was available was brutal and it never seemed like anything was going anywhere and any fixes were always brief and I always had to keep explaining the issue over and over. I finally found success when I reached out to eBay on their social media platforms, specifically IG and Facebook. Ultimately, I worked with the team on FB through messenger and it was much better as I did not have to explain the scenario every time, communication improved, I had a record of the communication and they were able to get tickets escalated so this thing finally got resolved.
I am not 100% confident it will be smooth sailing from here, but hopefully my  months long eBay nightmare is over and I have been able to keep my store, my account and feedback intact, etc.  Also, they did reimburse my eBay store fees for the 3 months I was not really able to operate during that time.
While it did take far, far longer to resolve than it should have, if you get a problem, try reaching out to them via IG/FB first. Might get better results for your eBay issue.

Never use tape around comics, that is just dumb and asking for trouble.  Especially with mylar products - it sticks, it degrades, it makes a mess out of your mylars/mylites.
Use these, or equivalent: 

E. Gerber Mylites + Full Backs + microchamber paper (optional) + Scotch Removalble Tape

Just came back from CGC. Bought as a 9.4 graded from MCS auction. Yes, it's rare to find anything on MCS graded so high as a raw, but in the right place at the right time. When I got the raw from MCS I couldn't find any noticeable defects and I don't think MCS downgrades for off white pages ...so I decided to take the risk with CGC and have it slabbed

Just wait until you discover how many of those books had a newsstand edition that only pops up once or twice a year. 

I clearly have a problem. Money has been hemorrhaging from my bank account add an alarming rate. I have been gobbling up early and late issues of UC Spider-Man (finally found the stash at my LCS and bought them out), a second print UF4, made deal on a 1st print UF4, bought the TPB and watched Into the Spiderverse a couple more times. 
 
The thing is, I knew about this when it came out, I’ve seen these issues at shows, and watched the movie a few years ago.  Oddly, I started this before I found out the trailer for the Oct 2022 sequel movie dropped three months ago. 
I was trying to figure out where this obsession started, but I can’t put my finger on it. I think I just saw an ad for the book and the more I investigated it the more intrigued I was in the story is amazing. I figured I needed to grab some of this stuff before it got ridiculously expensive.
Miles Morales is not just a flash in the pan…he’s a permanent fixture, and there are a lot of people like me who aren’t paying attention to it.  Glad I figured it out..my collecting and reading has been enriched.
