  1. Could you clarify as to what risk you would still have with check or mo? I'm still unclear on this. Anyone?
  2. This is what I don't get when sellers say "I don't know about you" on non-paypal/credit card deals. Buyer has zero protection. I've done these deals before knowing full well that I could possibly lose out on the money, but took the risk based on the seller's rep. The only repercussions would be the buyer trashing the seller online for something, but the buyer should do whatever they can in the even of a scam. Idk, seems like the lion's share of the risk falls with the buyer outside of ppal or cc.
  3. Yea to the OP- start buying Craigslist collections. Start small selling them here and make a name for yourself. It'll be a ton of work but you have to start somewhere. I've been able to find some good buys on craigslist, but you need a little seed money even for that. Although the op said he was aversed to it, minimum wage would pay far more than flipping books. If it were me, I would not quit my day job, as it were, and do comics on the side. In fact, this is what I and many of us here actually do (although I'm a collector and just sell on the side occasionally). Well, that's a decision that has already been made for the OP, unfortunately. yeah unfortunately that's true That's why I wrote, 'as it were.' Figure of speech. I'd dig ditches if I had to, but I'd have a job. Whatever you do, though, best wishes and good luck!

  5. This thread started funny but got really sad. Good luck to you, OP! I don't think you'll find much success in your consignment venture, but I hope you find some somewhere!
  6. Not counting buyer's premium? What is that, monopoly money?
  7. Bought a Hulk lot from Nick. Fast shipping, everything went well. Thanks!
  8. I wonder what the bidding strategies are for extreme heavy hitters who can lay out 250 k for a piece of pop art? Hard early? Duel it out? Snipe? Boggles the mind how much $ is passing around in the hobby sometimes.
  9. I bought an X-Men 101 off of Andrew, everything went smoothly, thanks!
  10. Very cool! What a great experience to have (and the art looks great)!
  11. The best of the best! And with the right voice for the role. If only some actors watched this in advance. Seems like advice for directors rather than actors.
  12. Do we really have to include The Spirit (FM version)? Uggh.
  13. I just finished The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch from the Gentleman Bastards series. Very cool, recommended.
  14. Yes, the DC movies generally kick . Marvel movies are not so certain, but I did enjoy Planet Hulk. Cool flick, that.
  15. I loved Ant Man as a kid..... and I agree with you. A little of humor AND drama is needed. One of my favorite comics of all starred him..... Avengers 93 GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u The Ultimates issue where he beats the out of the Wasp was pretty awesome too.
  16. Who are the target audience? I would argue it's not comic book readers. hey now, if every comic book reader bought a ticket the domestic BO might break $2mm. That's prolly enough to pay the fluff girls. So that's significant.
