  1. Hey, has anyone ordered items or had any experience with anthonyscomicbookart.com for their OA?

I was sent an invoice and paid via PayPal six days ago but have not received any confirmation communication or shipping details since.

I've bought from Anthony's before and haven't had any problems; he's usually pretty quick & he has a good reputation. You should send him an email asking the status of your piece.

Good luck and post it when it comes in!

  2.

Yeah... but can you make the sale happen 4 months ago please

CPW3's pencils are amazing, congrats on that piece (thumbs u

    Thanks

Ouch! on the buying before the sale. However, you got the piece you wanted. When I found out about the sale, the top three pieces on my want list were spoken for before I got my request in. Although the DPS didn't any great action scenes with the stories' hero's, it really showcases CPW3's pencil skills. I could stare at this piece for hours.

  3. Pencils for The Stuff of Legend Vol.2 issue 3 pages 2-3

If anyone has an interest in The Stuff of Legend or the incredibly talented Charles Paul Wilson III - there is a 50% off sale still happening at Comicarthouse.com

Edit: I'm not affiliated with Comicarthouse - just wanted to point out the sale

  4. i put on my 16 year old boy hat and it's the only thing I could think of...what comic is that from.

Detective Comics 900, by the way Layman is doing a pretty good job on that book.

I've been wondering how he's doing on that title. He has a peculiar sense of humor; I think he only tweets the bad reviews.

  5. Nice DPS! I like the perspective in the top panel. The middle panel has a good sense of the train's speed.

    +1

I loveloveLOVE the cinematic quality of his art. The action and framing of every scene are impeccable.

Cinematic quality is a great description for Brian's style on TSG.

  6. How are the Saga 2nd and 3rd prints doing? Is there a demand for them? I found a 2nd print of issue 3 and I remember seeing some rather high prices on the boards for them awhile back. Still worth flipping?

    I just sold a Saga #2 3rd print for $6 and a Saga #1 4th print for $15 over the weekend.

I found a #2 2nd print and 3 1st print in the dollar bin with spine ticks a few weeks ago and sold them for $10 combined as VF- last week. It was to a Zero feedback buyer, tho.

  7. I can't believe this is for real, but it looks like it. Ms Marvel 1 CGC 9.4--over $200 shipped.

Whoever won that auction could've BIN'd a 9.6 WP for the same price.

I bought a 9.4 wp copy of that 4 years ago for 30 bucks on ebay then sold it for 50 a year ago. (shrug) Guess I should have waited. :(

I turned down a 9.0 for $30 two weeks ago; maybe I call and see if it's still avaliable

  8. Regarding selling hot books on eBay, what is the best way to maximize your final sales price on them???

I've sold less than 10 items on there, so am new to the selling.

Would appreciate any quick tips on what I could have done better for the following case:

-bought Amazing Spider-Man #678 Venom Variant for $9, held it for 2 months or so, sold for $142.50 on eBay.

-there was anywhere from 2-7 other ones listed around the same time

-most were selling for around $160-$180 at the time (was slightly dissapointed that mine didn't hit that, and a little confused).

-Think it was a 10 day auction, ended it at 9:45PM on a Sunday

-this was the listing (it obviously had pictures)

Your auction ended while some potential bidders were watching the 'Walking Dead'

  9. no, the tonal is not the final published copy either- it gets digitally finished. :)

I would consider them both original art, and I'd prefer the tonal ones, personally.

I was over-simplifying by saying 'published piece'.

I prefer the tonals just based on aesthetics.

  10. They're not recreations at all and they are used in publication, in that the digitally colored version of the tonal becomes the final cover art, just like a copy of the linework becomes the tonal.

Most artists go from linework to digital finishing, Jenny just has a middle step in her art-making process that results in a second piece.

Ahh - got it. So effectively the pencils are originals and the tonal is the published copy (excluding the digital version)

  11. Felix (or other OA collectors) - would you consider the tonals as recreations? It doesn't sound like they are studies/prelims and aren't used in publishing. But conversely, they are done prior to publication.

    (shrug)

They do look great, tho, and congrats to the owners. I'd love to have one myself.
