  1. I don't know if this explains it 100% or not but clearly something happened starting in 1965 to cause Canadian sold annuals to be printed with blank covers. BUT... 1. Why did "blank covers" seemly stop all of a sudden? 2. Are there any Marvel annuals issued during this time period that have not yet been found with blank covers? 3. Why did the "blank cover" syndrome not stretch to the monthly issued Marvel books or any of the DC annuals or books during this period?
  2. Didn't this complete story get auctioned at either Sotheby's or Christie's back in the 90s?
  3. Why would someone save the covers to 28 and 30 but not the covers to 27, 29 and 31?
  4. It doesn't have to be in direct sunlight for damage to occur. There is indirect sunlight striking it along with light from your indoor lights...
  5. Gouache is a form of watercolour is it not?
  6. Be VERY careful when framing. Make sure that only museum quality materials are used. As well, make absolutely certain that the paintings are out of any light whatsoever. Acrylic/watercolour paints can fade very quickly when exposed to light...
  7. Looks like an acrylic/watercolour to me but I stand to be corrected...
  8. I don't think so, neither one of them could field worth a damn.
  9. Unfortunately not for me - didn't play long enough due to early and chronic injuries.
  10. Anointing Cap Anson as the first player to reach 3,000 hits is not a "home run". Depending upon what source you're looking at Anson never even reached the 3,000 hit plateau. Anson played his first 5 professional seasons (1871-1875) in the National Association. Most sources disregard his statistics there as the National Association was not considered a true "major league". Secondly, in 1887, walks counted as hits for, I believe, the only time in MLB history. Sources do not count the 60 walks that he had during the 1887 season in his career "hit" total. Lastly, record keeping was sporadic and haphazard during the 19th century and even into the early 20th century - Anson played his entire career in the 19th century.
  11. In the absence of any actual evidence, your first guess makes the most sense to me. As far as anyone noticing before now, GCD does make reference to the variant...
  12. No comics on Krypton??!!! Who in their right mind would want to grow up there?
  13. Anyone know why two versions got printed?
  14. Yup - The displaced leg didn't bother the winning bidder or the under bidder one little bit...
