  1. I am still snagging them for $25 - $30 apiece from a couple of LCSs as they slowly leak out their last few copies. In both cases the owners were shocked at how fast they went, especially the store that supposedly ordered 600 copies. I bought one on friday for $14. Sold it for $35 via text an hour later. Batman #1 is not a hard to find book if you look hard enough. I'm still surprised at how cheap #2 is comparitively...but it has been moving upward pretty quickly...
  2. The regular or the variant? I think The Massive is one of the best series currently running. I picked up the regular #1 signed by Wood $5. One of my favorite covers. I actually bought that one from Midtown's website last summer. And Ryan hooked me up with the variant when TFAW had them for like $1. The first arc variants (#1-#3) are the ones to own if anything ever happens with this series. And has anyone been paying attention to the prices of the first American Vampire arc? Only in so much as one of my LCSs have a box full of #1s they would love to sell at cover...
  3. This topic is 'moderns are heating up on ebay'? I seem to be confused
  4. I have been seeing a definite uptick in east of west. Sold two sets, and my friend sold one...they had been sitting on my ebay account without any play for a long time then blamooo...
  5. I'm thinking that they never expected the book to be this popular...a victim of their own success...
  6. or maybe 10 different covers with incentive variants
  7. Do you mean "It Came"? It got 1/5 on CBR: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=user_review&id=6325 I guess he's entitled to his opinion, I thought it was great....
  8. Anyone else read 'It comes' and think it's gonna be a big deal? I think it's the best comic that very few people will ever get to to read of the month....
  9. The difference is that there have been a bunch of halo comics out.... As a general rule, the first series of a subject tends to be the valuable one...( before everyone gives me their exceptions that prove the rule )...So unless there is a new character, a fab artistic team....
  10. do you really think so...I mean if you specifically declare it as a pre-order and don't specify a grade...
  11. you can always explain what happened...you listed it as a pre-order "sorry the condition is not up to my standards...massive discount or refund?"
  12. Yeah but Jimmy, I was rareing for it too, but it's awful, 9 out of 10 comic readers agree. I have copies too, but I think they may have to be used to handle my ferret's poo...oh it looked good, preview tight, talent tight, sold out before it came out....then you read it, and kept saying to yourself...this might be an in joke, but it doesn't really make sense to me. Sorry mate, you can't polish this turd. But be careful as the paper is like fingerprint ink pad...don't touch it....
  13. 'It came' seems to have almost no supply on ebay. I think it's really good...I rarely get a good laugh out of print media...
  14. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SAGA-1-FIRST-PRINT-RARE-VAUGHAN-STAPLES-SOLD-OUT-NEW-UNREAD-IMAGE-/321184986505?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4ac81df589&_uhb=1 Not mine but look at that price...that's really depressing has it really fallen that far?
  15. Well I finally sold my set at a small profit...so with scant evidence, I say there's an uptick
  16. next week seems pretty slow.... 'It Came' from Titan Comics is worth a serious look....a mystery theatre 3000 ish comic. Probably a tiny print run.....In general titan comics is doing well in the secondary market...who knew? I've gotten some requests for 'activity' which I though was pretty much dead....special forces but in the boring 'reality' manner..... Clone's still doing pretty well, I think due to the show being just around the corner, and it's higher then average potential to being made....
  17. Fixed it for you, but I get your point. If collectors weren't OCD, then they probably wouldn't be collectors....
  18. I have a DF of locke and key #1.... It's the same cover on slightly less good paper, with a DF on it ( oh and limited to 3000 ) WTF, I have a printer too....I mean if your not going to go through the effort of getting it signed, or a different cover...some value added. It's scarcity for scarcity's sake only.
  19. +10000 to UPS "So you only deliver during the day, when EVERYONE works?? Si. "and you make 3 delivery attempts within 7 days, and if you can't deliver, you ship right back to the sender?" Si. "and you only have one pick-up outlet, that's 30 min away from most parts of the city?" Si. Ya, around Christmas I left that outlet, and (not intentially), busted the window on the door as I left in anger. WORST. SYSTEM. EVER. (if it's not business shipping). I once got a post card from Canada Post saying they could not deliver my package because they couldn't find my address....
  20. Normal shipping with no tracking, no signature is going to be a lot cheaper. Probably $10 or so, but ya, to cover your butt, it's going to be at least $18. And ya, more if it's packed well. Actually from canada, I ship using the 'document rate'. It has to be under 200 grams which is just about right for a comic in a current sized bag and back and well secured cardboard. That's 4-5 bucks making it competitive...
  21. my LCS wants 400 for a spidey 700 signed by the man...so that's a 20 dollar book plus a 50 dollar signature = 400....anyone got a calculator?
