  1. OK, here's the list of factual information you're looking for. Consider it "recorded somewhere." The 3,275 copy print run is accurate...confirmed and documented by Peter Laird himself. No claims to the contrary by any other person not directly associated with TMNT #1 (i.e., anyone other than Kevin or Peter) should be considered valid. No copies were set aside, designated for special use, or were even signed in a specific way for a specific purpose or promotion (although Kevin and Peter did give away some copies to friends, family, etc.) which likely had personal messages or signatures. Those copies are VERY RARELY ever sold due to their sentimental and/or collectible value. Kevin and Peter never thought they'd sell all of the copies they had printed. They used the boxes that they came in for furniture in their house. And finally, this picture alone is what I would say is proof of the print run being limited as has been well-documented and not artificially understated / low for the purpose of creating rarity. While it's hard to know how many copies are in each box, there are probably between 300-400 copies in each box (just for portability and weight). Get more pictures and info. here. Thanks for posting this. I love the history of the toitles!! I had never seen or read this before.
  2. Thanks fellas. It's one that's been in the back of my mind for quite some time. I agree with many that it presents well for the grade. I have to agree with some that it's soooo tough to find DC keys with nice paper. Anybody have any idea why? I also think this book is a sleeper. Even if we don't connect the movies to this book, it's one that isn't close to its DC and Marvel comrades as far as price. I know we can't look at SC4, but we could at least recognize that GL is one of the most recognizable DC characters. On my sons shirt (which I'm always jealous of his cool shirts) you find Supes, Bats, Flash, and GL. Those 4 big Dawgs are on everything. What's even better is I just told my wife about the book and she didn't quarrel with me !!!!!!!!!!. It's great to be in the club!
  3. That was me last night. After selling my 4.0 last year, I've missed it since. I've been looking for the right copy, my deal on a higher grade copy fell through, and this copy has superior greens and nice paper. No date stamps and just a clean book. A part of me would still like a higher grade, but I will be happy with this for sure I would of course have liked to pay a little less, but you have to pay for nice presenters!
  4. Congrats on that beastly piece Sofistocat. What a beauty. Here's my Talbot piece from NYCC. I had seen a purple moon in one of his prior commissions, and had to get one. He of course nailed it. He's such a great guy. Always welcoming and friendly. I also got to see The Man Kevin. He was so cool as always, and personalized a book for me with a little head sketch. He was signing with Robert Rodriguez, who had inked one of the variants to cover 50. He was cool too. Kevin always makes time for his fans and appreciates us. As I had said when I first met Herb Trimpe (RIP), meeting your favorite artists and them actually giving you the time of day to have a reciprocal conversation and showing you love back is mind blowing. It makes you love their work even more.
  5. Wow. God bless him and his family. Yes, we need to appreciate all the little things.
  6. Ramon bought a 4 figure Tec off me and it went very smoothly. Great communication, and he's a cool guy to talk to. He has great taste in books as well. I'm sure we'll be doing more deals. Thanks.

  8. Andy is Da Man! We just completed a smooth transaction on a big and small book. 1-2-3- Bam. He paid instantly and had great communication throughout. I look forward to dealing with Andy anyday of the week. Always a pleasure. Thanks.
  9. I'm sure she's going to love it if she hasn't seen it yet. That was Half Court in the toys. He was tough to get. I have a Casey myself. Similar to Talbot (and really all the early turtle artists), there's no artists like them. I guess that's why we love our Turtles
  10. Lawson's the man. That Giraffe is nuts, and he nailed the Jersey. Such a sick style. Did you get a sketch for yourself?
  11. Ryan sent me a 4 day NYCC pass within an hour of paying. Always the fastest shipping, friendly service, and a great guy. Solid as a Rock!!! Thanks man.
  12. Joey bought a couple slabs off me. He's awesome to deal with. Great communication, fast pay, and a friendly dude. Always a pleasure. Thanks.
  13. Completely Amazing!!!!!!!! You're collection of turtles is breathtaking!! That 54 is so classic turtles! 34 has always been a favorite of mine too. Congrats man!!!! I know you wanted them badly.
  14. Why not dream. You never know. I believe one day you'll have them! I know how difficult and pricey they are, but the time will come. You've apparently gotten almost everyother turtle book. That's quite an accomplishment. It's the same thing I was doing with the toys, but eventually moved onto the books. I'll eventually get the second, third, and fourth series. Turtle Power man. Here's a recent Eastman piece I was lucky to snatch on Ebay from a cool dude. Already framed too. Some great detail and background. It got my wife's stamp of approval, so I think I'm finally going to hang my first piece of turtle art- YAY!!!!!
  15. Mike bought a Spidey 300 9.6 and paid immediately. Great communication and great guy. Smooth all around. Thanks.
  16. Sooooo, should I see this or not? Reading EVERY SINGLE review, I could not fine one good thing about it. Daaammnnn! I just always want my superhero movies to be good. I could say I did not have high hopes for it of course. You mean there's nothing good about it? Just tell me there's something good about it.
