  1. I saw Neal Adams for the first time a few years ago. A kid walks up to him (around 10 years old) and shows him a picture he drew of Batman. Neal says you gotta keep practicing kid, with a snarl. I was flabbergasted. I felt like saying something to him. I honestly hope I never see something like that again. I will say something next time! Sometimes, the ego gets in the way and people are filled with ignorance. I've seen him elsewhere, and he seems ok. Even if you're having a bad day, c'mon.
  2. Ok fellas, here is my first official RAK. AF15 just wasn't cutting it . I thought instead of Spidey, I'd offer one of the first comics I remember owning and always thinking how cool the cover art was. I got this from Mike recently on the boards, who rocks. I hope a Batman/Swampy lover enjoys it. Shipping in the US included. Int'l please cover half. Enjoy.
  3. Is that your offer? My little guys co-sleeper is in the way of my cubby, but a cool cover signed by a classy writer will be up for some rak action in the mo-ning. Just a little somethin somethin to wet my feet. ASM 1 signed by Stan Lee? That's cheap bro! Only AF's around these parts.

  5. Some very nice offerings here guys. I'm glad to see people are giving nicely and building connections. I know I said it before, but I'm getting up in the mix soon. Maybe tonight!
  6. Mike is a true gentleman, and rocks! Solid in every way- payment, communication, and just a great human being. A true asset to the boards and community. I can't say enough good things about him. Thanks for the blessings as well!
  7. David bought a Turtle slab off me, was a great guy to deal with, paid immediately, and is awesome to talk books with. I would recommend him any day of the week. Thanks.
  8. Ah man. Well, I'm up preparing the bottle for my son, and my wife asks me how was the movie. My answer; The turtles and Splinter were April's pets. She even said it like such a cornball (hand goes to my head as I sigh), and Splinter found a book on Ninjitsu to teach the turtles (hand goes to my head as I sigh)- learning the art of Ninjitsu from a book- who knew and there was constant cgi (hand goes to my head as I sigh), of course we would expect a warped story line, tons of cgi explosion, and cgi turtles, but there were too many things not right. The Foot reminded me of weak "Immortal" soldiers from 300 that relied heavily on guns and didn't use Ninjitsu or their bodies to fight. Then there was Shredder, who was more like Shogun Shredder from the toy line. So full of metal with boomerang sharp blades. Not to give anything away, but I thought we were going to see Super Shredder at the end, but he was super throughout. What saved it a little was Donny's wittiness (My favorite turtle), some interactions between the turtles, their comradary, Splinter having a cool fight scene with the Shredhead, and a rooftop scene with Shredder and the turtles. I tried to like it, I did, but there were too many things just off-putting for me. For those of you who haven't seen it, of course go see it, and try to stay positive. I'm usually a guy who takes movies for what they are, but being a turtle lover, it was hard to stay smiling. Nrccijr, awesome shell and Talbot artwork. Sweet man!! I wonder what would happen if you wore that shell to work
  9. If anybody has a copy they're thinking about putting up, let a brother know. Thanks! I miss my 4.0 and should probably delete the old picture.
  10. (thumbs u My old and first copy. I'll never forget when I first unwrapped it. I literally couldn't stop looking at it. I'm glad it went to another great dude. Congrats and Welcome to the Club.
  11. I like that cover! (thumbs u Some of these 30th Ann. and new IDW covers are great. Nice sigs! I love Dooney
  12. Drop a gem on em! Can't wait to see em' I actually have a couple myself, that I just got back in trade and an old Peas mash up! I'll post tom
  13. You're not getting too old. Lyrically, today's mainstream hip hop artists are garb compared to those back in the day, IMHO. They could have really made the turtle song pop (besides the hook). Nas would've ripped it up
  14. It sold for $71,700 at Heritage after being displayed at the 35 days event at Meltdown with a ~$600,00.00 price tag. Not 100% on the 600K, but it was around there and greater than 1/2 a mil. http://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/kevin-eastman-and-peter-laird-first-ever-drawing-of-the-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1983-/a/7059-92357.s He has done these nicer sketches at some shows and not others. I think he started selling these sketched 2012 Annual RE's around the same time the "Team Eastman 2014" art boards were first released. The pickup for the books on FCBD weekend was arranged prior to the Shellback signing, where they were picked up. TY again HANS! Thanks man. I'm hoping to pick up a Mikey or diesel Eastman sketch in NYCC. We shall see. I appreciate the info. As far as the hip hop video, it's tough for me to feel these new artists, although Juicy J's style makes me laugh. Def a catchy tune. Nothing beats "Iceman, you know I'm not I'm not playin" and that dance that I could break out in a whim Def showed some great action sequences. I agree Toitle- btw- I hope your summer is going well! Let's hope for some good turtle action next week.
  15. Nice! Beat me to it. I will soon be joining in the tree of goodness!
  16. TY. Kicking myself I didn't get my Raphael slabbed. Wasn't a huge fan of the colored bandanas. TMNT will always have red bandanas to me!!! I'm kind of shocked Eastman is selling his 1st turtle sketch. Feel that may be a regrettable action later on. It's like King Arthur selling excaliber... If form follows function and the first group shot sold for about 13% of the initial asking price when it was displayed at Metdown comics, will that be the true selling price of his 1st turtle? roughyl $256,000.00? hmm... I like the red bandanas also. When I show my 6 yr old the original comics she will say, "daddy how do you tell the difference?" My reply, "the weapons the carry." Haha I am not surprised that he is selling. With all the hype why not, it is a sellers market. I am sure he is sick of looking at it. Does anyone know how much the "proof copy" of TMNT #1 first print went for? That Raph is badass!!! +1. I love the old school arm. Question. This and the Casey look "beefier" than his regular quick sketches. Did he work on a few of these throughout the day, or went at it while others thirsted on line. Maybe Peas could answer best. Just curious. Thanks. Also, I think Eastman knows it will go for a premium and he has all the turtle memorabilia he wants. Yeah, a little weird that it's the "first turtle," but dough is dough.
  17. Thanks man. I honestly didn't think I was going to get it. I thought I'd would have broken a g easy. It was exactly my max bid too! My eyes lit up
  18. Congrats! I saw this on ebay and put serious thought into buying it. Be sure to scan it when it's in-hand. Most definitely. I'm tempted to reach out to Eastman for a commission. Well, in time. Any thoughts or does anyone have experience doing so. When I had asked him he seemed open to the idea. Thanks.
  19. Peas Rocks man. That Casey and Barbaric Fantasy are bananas. Well, this is me "chillin with the books." Well, I guess that doesn't mean art. I hope this doesn't start a trend, but this is my first official turtle OA I'm such a Feinnnnnn. I love it though
  20. well thanks to Cools generous offer I'm going to excitedly take this awesome Colan page! my offer will be coming soon. Just PM your address Very Classy Andrew, and very classy all around. Not everyday a Colan OA piece is given away. Giving Tree- what a great place
  21. Thanks man. That Kingpin is crisp! Niceeee. Here's my new Spidey beauty. It's my first time owning one. Finally! It's a clean one. You got a great deal on the book too. I saw when it went up on the boards. Nice book! I just picked up a 5.0 of the book for the first time. It is my favorite Ditko cover and I actually have a poster of it in my basement. I like the color and all the villains contrasted with the white back. Yeah, it say there for almost an hour and I couldn't resist any longer .i live it as well. We need a pic of the poster. What year is it from. Yes, great contrast. The more you look at it, the more you appreciate it. Congrats on the 5.0 Wowwww. Did it just have CT? He probably still has it. Guys are bananas with speculation. They'll pay good money for a book, and ask even crazier money for it.
  22. That's awesome. Mikey ripped it up. The artists had a good point when they said the Nintendo game couldn't be beat. I'm the man at Nintendo/Genesis games, and I couldn't beat the damnnn game. I think I gotta break it out tonight.
  23. Wowwww. That is ill. Like I said, when you're ready. I love that Raph. Holy Spoon. Tomorrow I'll post some of my Dooney's
  24. It's you who has the Dooney Casey! I slept on it and in an instant it was gone. When you're ready to let it go, let a brother know. Thanks, and yes, the shredder blanks have a good deal of room to sketch. Here's another example.
