  1. Nope, he responded to me saying he didn't care here Saying this on May 2nd. Then he got added on May 5th. - bababooey - the new king of quoting out of context to win an argument.... I'm reading jawn's quote above that bababooey linked to. The last PM that oceanavekid posted on the subject was at 9:56 on 4/30/14. Jawn posted the at 4:14 am on 5/1/14. Did jawn expect the 'kid to check his PM's sometime in the wee hours of the night? I personally can't count that as "hours later" since the majority of America is in bed at that time I think it all boils down to communication If its indeed just all communication, and supposing Jawn no longer cares, that should make it easy for oceanavekid to take the steps to get off the PL, yes? I think the main problem is that oceanavekid doesn't seem to care that he's on it, much less making an effort to get removed.
  2. Heck, I don't even know what the book is. And I'm certainly not spending good coffee table money on it. The coffee table is only 100 bucks
  3. Except he didn't publicly offer his coffee table for sale What I he did a week earlier and had since changed his mind? Still isn't the same. The seller declined the buyer's offer (which is equal to your offer of $100). When that happened, the buyer agreed to pay the seller's asking price. It's not like jawn made the seller accept his offer, which would be the case in your example. He agreed to pay the asking price. In your example, you forced him to sell his coffee table at YOUR price.
  4. Like I said, if he had the time to go back and forth in a PM about a book he really wanted to keep, he had the time to take the book down or close the sales thread.
  5. Although it does seem there should be a set limit on an open sales threads, it seems the best and most common sense solution would be for a seller to just close his/her thread when the books are no longer for sale  Every time I've posted a sales thread, whether something sells, doesn't sell, or I list on eBay, I ALWAYS mark the thread as closed. And in the case of oceanavekid, if a seller has a chance to respond to a PM about said sales thread, they should have 10 seconds to close it soon after claiming the book is no longer for sale. I could see oceanavekid's side if he said: "Sorry, but I'm gonna hold onto the book," and then go to close the thread. And if jawn posted immediately after the exchange, right before the seller was trying to close it, I could see the argument of "No, I'm not selling it. I was coming to close the thread." But saying "I think I'm gonna hold onto it" (or whatever the exact wording was) and still leaving the thread open leaves room for a situation like this.
  6. Great seller! Great communication, extremely fast shipping, and a pleasure to deal with!
  7. Why did you list it on eBay while still trying to finalize/resuscitate the deal with Kyle? And when he offered the $110 deposit, it was already on ebay? And had bids? If it didnt have bid why not pull the auction since you cant sell it twice... I thought he DID take it off of eBay, only to have the buyer back out again  Likely (though I am not a mind reader) he saw it on eBay (after the second agreement to purchase), thought "hey I bet I can get it for less in the auction" and backed out again using the "prelim vs unpublished" argument as his out. You decided to forego PL nomination to go ahead and list it on ebay, essentially nulifying everything else by your "moving on" act of listing it on eBay, also you let him out of his agreement so those PM contracts to purchase were closed out, and the eBay purchase was a new contract (which he honored by purchasing it at the bid price, and you honored by sending the art) I agree he's rubbing your face in it, but you dont have many options besides a) the existence of this thread as evidence of his shenanigans and b) having him on your personal no-sell list (and assume others would do the same) And finally you know he didnt say Siegfried and Roy 1 Canada 0.... between that comment by you, the "boy friend" and the "panties" comment, you are losing the moral high ground very quickly, which is a shame cause Kyle was definitely more of a douchenozzle up to this point.
  8. I think a Sinister Six movie is a cool idea, but how could they pull that off without Spidey? Is there just going to be a movie about the formation of the Sinister Six and then them going on a crime spree with nobody to stop them?
  9. Especially considering those recorded sales are from eBay, which means the seller paid 10%+ in fees. I always try to take the money saved from fees into consideration when I price a book FS on the boards.
  10. Really hope they don't wait another 10 years to make a really good one...
  11. I see it as a buyer request. The seller was looking for a shipping solution and the buyer offered this suggestion. Seller opted out. If the was unconditional then there was no need to bring it up. I think one of the main things that keeps coming to my mind is that the seller kept discussing AFTER he knew the buyer was in Canada. Instead of asking if the buyer had a U.S. shipping address (which he did), why not just stop all discussions when he saw quadman was from Canada? A simple, "I saw you live in a Canada. I'm sorry, but I only ship to the U.S." That would've been it. Why ask if quadman had a U.S. address if it didn't matter either way?
  12. I'm just on the sidelines here and ran across the thread when I saw a lot of interests here. My A seller does have the right to refuse a sale if they don't feel comfortable with the conditions of the sale (conditions can change the dynamics of the deal). I agree with the seller that I personally would not feel comfortable sending a five figure book to a third party. I think the main thing here is that the seller put the book on hold AFTER he knew the potential buyer was from Canada. If the seller isn't comfortable with that, why put the book on hold at all? A simple, "Sorry, but I only ship to the U.S." would have ended all discussions.
  13. Since you weren't excepting PayPal, wouldn't you be requiring either a check or money order? And wouldn't you HAVE that check or money order in hand before shipping out the book? Plus quadman said he would send a check. So PayPal shouldn't be a problem.
  14. I watched it last Friday and gave it a 6/10. I gave ASM 1 a 5/10 on these boards. After the passage of 4 days, I would downgrade ASM2 to a 5/10. There really was no story, apart from the subplot of Peter trying to stay away from Gwen without success. What Sony and the production designers did with the Rhino, Electro and Green Goblin outfits was shameful. Paul Giamatti, an excellent actor, must be fuming for the less than one minute of face time he got, sitting in that stupid Rhino machine (really a Spider Slayer, right?). Dr Manhattan, I mean Electro, was a bit of a joke. Eccentric utility employee has his feelings hurt, falls into a vat of electic eels and, poof!, Electro is going to make Spidey pay. And then getting rid of Norman pretty quickly before you got to know him and, poof!, son Harry is now the GG in an abysmal-looking outfit. I can go on an on but I won't. At least your opinion is based on you actually watching the movie and giving it a chance. And based on 6/10 and 5/10 you enjoyed it some. It just seemed like more people were bashing it without watching it themselves.
  15. Of course ASM 2 had its problems, but I really enjoyed it. Going to see it again in the coming week. I'm honestly curious to know how many people complaining actually saw it vs. how many have just read all the negative comments and/or reviews. I know people have commented on here saying they did see it, but others state they're not watching it because of X.
  16. That was my first thought, especially since it started showing all of the villains' suits near the end. Not feeling that since he doesn't have the Kingpin look. Kingpin as a skinny old man I would complain about. Exactly. When I saw him, I immediately thought about how he was too slim. I hope we're wrong.
  17. That was my first thought, especially since it started showing all of the villains' suits near the end.
  18. As much as I liked ASM2, I still feel like they should have just focused on Electro this movie. Introducing Rhino in the beginning and setting up for ASM 3 was fine. But I think introducing Harry and letting the friendship grow a little more would have been better. Then let him become the GG in ASM3.
