  1.

Thanks for the picture, I clued in eventually. lol

One of his messages to me, after C2E2, was that his wife was at her wit's end and that they've had 2-14 people in their place at all times, helping with the shipping of these books.

To be upset that he wants to charge more on shipping than you would or a thousand other eBayers would, is ridiculous.

He set the shipping price, you guys paid. That's it. There was no promise posted about what level of service you'll get.

He'll likely do things differently next time. Perhaps he'll charge a bit more for shipping and still give the same service. (shrug)

I just saw this. It looks like a church group. I don't know how much they charged him being a church, but I'm sure he donated something and paid for a meal.

  2. I remember seeing something about it would be better to have it sent to a home address instead of po box....because UPS was going to be used primarily.

I can see UPS charging around $8.50 - mine were sent to a house, not an apartment or PO box. And they were sent Media Mail. I now have proof as the mailman seemed to have forgotten to deliver my parcel earlier, he just brought it now. I am holding the box in my hand.

$8.50 to ship a 1-pound package from IN to NC.

Nope. Not right at all. Even with the mailer he had to buy, $5 max is what I would have charged.

I just looked it up - from his ZIP to mine, a 1-lb parcel costs $2.69 to ship Media. Let's say the mailer cost him $1.50 (which seems high, knowing he bought them in bulk) we are looking at $4.19 total cost.

    I paid $8.50.

    meh

If this were eBay, he'd be getting 1 star for his shipping DSR. At least the copies look nice, easy 9.6s.

You know that he bought the mailers in bulk? How do you know that?

How much is his time worth? What if he doesn't want to absorb that?

What about the cost that he had to pay the 2-14 people that he had at his house every day, helping with the packing and shipping? What if he doesn't want to absorb this either?

    (shrug)

If you're listing 3,000 copies of something I would think you are buying packing material in bulk.

Where are you getting the 2-14 people. I am seeing this on his website: "This entire operation is truly Mom and Pop with every order being processed and shipped by the two of us on top of our regular jobs."

How much is his time worth? I think his time is worth the $20 price he was charging. You need to ship if you sell something. I can't sell something for $20 and then be like you know what I need an extra $4 because it took me 10 minutes to pack instead of 3 minutes.

  3. Where are you Slym? Alaska, Guam, Hawaii?!?!?! When I ship media mail it is there in 4 days average. I do have the Jacksonville hub which is known for getting it done right most of the time but still.

North Carolina. Mine have been in transit for 6 business days, and no sign of them today.

Again, we were promised Priority Mail, paid Priority prices, yet are getting them shipped via Media. That's my problem here.

I complained about this a few months ago in the probation thread. If you pay for a certain way of shipping and receive something else. A lot of people told me to shut up and deal with it.

I don't remember paying for Priority Mail. I remember paying for a flat fee.

I need to find my invoice. I swore I ordered 60 copies, but it said I ordered 59 and my shipping was $26.95 or whatever. It's like he canceled 1 copy and added the $20 to the flat rate shipping. I received a medium flat rate box...

  4. Has anyone noticed anything wrong with their TPB?

In issue 3 (I think?) where it was the 2 page spread you need to turn sideways to see her head wasn't matching up with her body. And I really opened up the TPB to almost flat to see the full picture.

Also in issue 3 on the last page half of the text is cut off because it was along the edge.

That's as far as I am right now. #4-6 on the train ride home.

  5. We will find out in a week. I'm going to on site a stack on Wednesday or Thursday. I'm sure Lonzilla and a bunch of people in here are doing the same.

Getting there a day early? lol You mean Thurs or Fri

I'll be there with my "stack" of 2 copies if they arrive in time

I'm pretty sure last year they were accepting submissions on Wednesday from whoever had a dealer pass. I know for sure they were accepting submissions Thursday morning. Two years ago they finished a lot by end of the show on Thursday because BeachBum had a stack of TWD #1 variant, but I don't remember them bringing anything out last year.

I know the show doesn't start until Thursday afternoon.

  6. The paranoia here is hilarious. Everyone stressing about when they are going to get there copies lol.

Yeah. I usually don't even get my orders from Midtown Comics in 6 days and they do this every week.

YOUR COPIES ARE COMING. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SELL THEM. Stop emailing them and let them pack.

  7. Do people even get their orders from the big online stores this early?

It's Tuesday. He was in Chicago Fri-Sun (maybe even Th). As cool as I thought I was to get mine yesterday and show it off I fully regret my decision. The amount of PMs I got asking about a tracking number... I'm going back to being a ghost.
