  1. So glad to have you along for the ride -- #2 won you over? I can understand that b/c I think the story really hits its stride in the 2nd issue. If I had to do it over again I'd put some of #2 in #1. Onward and upward!
  2. Jimmy!!! I have rectified the situation, and your name is now immortalized in the caption. Thanks again for stopping by. And hell yes I want to do the Rick Ross bio for Bluewater. Busted a nut when I read that. Let me know if you can arrange a meeting with the publisher.
  3. This is interesting. So the PP folks announced their series was limited to 5 arcs / 25 issues? How does everyone else feel about knowing the creators are going to bail out after a 25 month seduction into their world? Does it make you want to avoid the book? Or, conversely, does it entice you because you're going into it with a clear understanding of the length of your commitment?
  4. Manifesto -- I can't thank you (and everyone here) enough -- but I will try. MK and I will also have some other exciting news about a non-TODD project we're working on. Soon.
  5. Kayakkid -- thanks so much for the kind words. I am here for the long haul -- on this board and in this business (fingers crossed). To answer your question -- TODD #1 is indeed his first appearance. I WISH Image would run it in The Walking Dead like they did with Chew.... Image does not have a booth at Wondercon -- but I will be signing at the GeekScape booth -- so please stop by and see me! Will post the booth number and days/times once I have it settled. Looking forward to it! And at the end of May MK and I will both be going to NYC for BookExpo at the Javitz center -- Image has a booth there.
  6. Not bad. Todd's is a bit retro -- maybe a Bengals jersey from the 70s.
  7. They speak the truth! Although they didn't know it when they printed that! They must be psychic because I did that interview on Wednesday 2/7, and it wasn't until Sunday 3/3 at ECCC that I got a chance to talk with Eric Stephenson about it -- and he said he thought making TODD an ongoing title was a great idea. So...we are working out the details of when issue #5 will come out and will announce it soon. But you are the first to know.
  8. Me and Holden -- burning books! Thanks again for showing up at ECCC -- was a blast meeting some of you boardies in person.
  9. Issue #3 comes out next Wednesday 3/13/13 -- the only palindrome of the year! And sources tell me pre-orders have been strong, so it makes sense that online retailers are sold out already. Meanwhile, issue 2 (2nd print) cover is almost ready -- that will be in stores March 27th.
  10. Todd's shirt came from MK's imagination. But if you find one like it please let me know!
  11. Holden -- you mind if I post a pic of me and you "burning" that book?
  12. Lame variants, constant renumbering, phony deaths, phony "events" -- as a life-long collector, this kind of manipulation drives me insane. They are putting less thought into the story than into the corporate-driven cash grab.
  13. #1, 2nd printing officially sold out at Diamond within a few days of release, so waiting to hear if it's going back for 3rd printing. Should know more today.
  14. Ha! You're welcome. Is there a stigma against all variants or just the lame 52 flags kind of stuff. Just when it goes overboard IMO. Bedlam #1 is a good example - there are like 6 first prints, a second print and some BS 'Limited Edition' that Larry's released a bit later at $60 or so. It's absolutely one of my favorite books, but the collectibility is held back a little by the oversaturation. Saga #1 is a good example of a perfect variant situation - a super-limited edition of 500 RRP, the regular issue and then the later prints. I like the way you're doing the second prints of Todd as true variants though, riffing on the first print covers, but with major changes. Good insight -- thank you! I just got the art for the cover of TODD issue #2 2nd printing. Will post here as soon as soon as it's in layout and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Also, other big news coming out of ECCC!

  16. I just posted one on my website KenKristensen.com
  17. Yesterday E.S. said he was happy with how TODD's been doing. So that's good!
  18. I'm all about Todd The Action Figure! Will let you know how those McFarlane toy convos go....
  19. Boardie at yesterday's TODD signing @ECCC! So cool to meetcha.
  20. Yeah, I've always wondered that as well. I asked Image to put MK's name first because he's an artist who, in my opinion, deserves top billing. The blood, sweat, and tears he's putting into this book is unmatched. Image graciously agreed, despite the fact that it's bucking tradition.
  21. And feel the love from The Ugly American: http://theuglyamericanreport.blogspot.ca/2013/02/ugly-american-16-lets-talk-todd.html
  22. Thanks, guys! We've got an amazing arc for issues 5-9, if Image gives us the chance to bring it to life. We are doing our best to make it happen and we really appreciate any and all efforts of the folks on this board. Let's power it through!
  23. Hey Katchoo -- Check this out: http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2013/02/24/exclusive-first-glimpse-at-new-cover-art-for-todd-the-ugliest-kid-on-earth-issue-3/
  24. My international travel budget probably doesn't allow a trip to the U.K. at this point. Sad face.
