  1. +1 Thanks a bunch Ken. I'll see you again so I can some books graded. Nice meeting you too! Thanks again for coming.
  2. Thanks for coming down today -- great to meet "JerryAmsterdam" in person! Had a great time -- that place has an amazing setup and a nice vibe. Hey Ken, I missed this...are you local? Will you be at Wondercon next month? I'm LA-based. I will be wandering around Wondercon, for sure. But Image doesn't have a booth and neither do I.
  3. I'll be going to Book Expo in May with Image and will probably have some signings at some stores in NY while I'm there that week -- let me know what LCS I should sign at in NYC... I cant find any info on this? When and where is the Expo this year so i can make arrangements? Here's the website for Book Expo... I've never been, but it's one of the few shows Image is doing this year, so I'm going. http://www.bookexpoamerica.com

  7. You NAILED it, Katchoo. Very impressive. Hit us with your shipping address at FeelUgly@gmail.com and when the prints for that cover are ready I will send one to ya. Well done, my friend.
  8. This is a tough one Ken! Any clues? Is it paying homage to another Image Comics cover? This is a tough one, for sure. Clue: Issue 2's slickest element points the way. This Here's another clue -- "Under Todd's bag is JC's kid."

  10. +1 Yeah, just think back to LOBO...and all the Mini Series associated with it. Use to run around trying to figure out all the 4 partners, etc I needed to complete each mini. First world hardship ya know. Ahhh. That's why the numbering's important. Got it. Makes more sense to me now. Thank you.
  11. Just announced from IMAGE's marketing dept: THE UGLIEST KID ON EARTH SELLS OUT Second issue of TODD gets second printing Selling out the same week as its release, TODD, THE UGLIEST KID ON EARTH #2 continues the success of the new Image Comics mini-series by Ken Kristensen and MK Perker. The issue will receive a second printing (JAN138185), to be in stores on March 27. The third issue of TODD, THE UGLIEST KID ON EARTH, which focuses on an infectiously upbeat kid caught in an epically dysfunctional world, will be in stores on March 13. The title continues to receive critical praise with its second issue: "Todd, The Ugliest Kid on Earth is so wrong it circles back around and becomes so, so right. If you don’t have a slightly askew sense of humor you’ll find this more offensive than hilarious, and that’s your loss. Todd is one of the rare books that’s a good read AND a fun ride." -Comic Book Therapy "This title continues to be one of my favorite this year. The team on this book are layering all sorts of different meats and cheeses and using all kinds of spicy condiments to serve up one hell of a sandwich, and you know how much I like sandwiches." -Comcis Bulletin "If you like your humor dark and your satire biting, then you should check this one out. Four and a half Disturbing Prison Groupies out of Five." -Fanboy Comics "It's an insane premise with oddities all over the place, but it's intelligently put together and is heavily entertaining.... Don't let this pass under your radar." -Comic List
  12. You mean the Mike Zeck series from the 80s? Nope, that's not it -- but I think I know what cover you're talking about. But that is an awesome series with Zeck's best work.
  13. Can you be more specific? What's wrong with them? And whose fault is that -- the printer? Or the way it's shipped?
  14. Thanks, Kayakkid --- My mother gave birth to me on the top of a water slide and my head's been spinning ever since. I'm with you -- let's sell out this second printing and go for a third!
  15. ThoseBackPages had a keen enough eye to point out that issue #2 was an homage to The Walking Dead #48. Today I sent him a signed print of that cover. The next challenge is....who can name what issue #3's cover is an homage to? Same prize for the first person to call it.
  16. The 2nd printing of issue 2 cover will be different for sure -- not sure how different, but different.
  17. Great news! Thanks for the insider information! I am loving this book, I even post on FB about it! I love how on the cover of the #1 second print you quoted a sentence from that reviewer who pretty much crucified your book! That was awesome to do on so many levels! Ken, had you read that guy's review prior to seeing the link another boardie posted here on this thread to it? We HAD seen that review -- in fact, by the time the boardie posted it we'd already designed the new cover with the pull quote. That's why when the boardie posted the review here I replied with "That review was a GIFT." :-)
  18. I can't remember if I mentioned this here last week, but issue 2 sold out at the distributor level in one day (just like issue #1). So..... We are doing a 2nd printing of issue #2. Press release should go out from Image tomorrow, but I wanted you all to know FIRST.
  19. +1 I'll see you this Saturday Ken & ECCC Awesome -- see ya Saturday! Have prints, will travel.
  20. We have original art available --- Contact us at FeelUgly@gmail.com and we can put you on the mailing list.
  21. I dont think it will really be that hard to make this book ongoing with the reception it is getting. I havent seen anyone come in yet and say they really didnt like it other then that web reviewer that said "burn it". I loved mentioning him on the 2nd Print cover that was pure genius. If each issue continues to sell out and 2nd prints are being done isnt that an indication that the book is well recieved and should continue. I thought this book was a winner from the first read which is why I tried to get them in here from their facebook page to talk about it. I still recommend all to read it if nothing else to just get a good laugh from Todd. As far as the print run goes Ken it means something different to everyone. For some a low print run on a book means the secondary market will be a good return on their investment. Others like a low print run because it makes them feel special their were able to get in on the ground floor. Some just plain like an independent book that is struggling to make it and they root for the underdog. Thank you all for chiming in and educating me on the numbers. As far as an ongoing -- MK and I are into it and we have the next story arc mapped out. And we are going to be talking with Image about it. I have two appearances coming up -- this weekend I'll be at Phat Collectibles in Anaheim, CA -- Saturday 2/23 from 2-5pm. Would love to see you there. Here's a link https://www.facebook.com/events/125823094249706/?ref=22 And next week I'll be at Emerald City Comic-con February 28-March 3rd. If any of you are going please stop at the Image booth and say hello.
  22. Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth #1 7,879 Really low number. Let the frenzy begin Thats better then I expected Can someone explain the math to me? When you look at numbers what do you look for and what's a "good number" or a "low number" (and are those the same thing?). Educate me! Thank you...
