  1. Then that will be one less Marvel title, depending on who replaces him. I'll check out the 1st issue of Cates' Venom series
  2. Wow that really looks like drek, does everyone on the cover have violent gas??? Nick Spencer writing is means a big NO for me. I have zero desire to see Spidey join the resistance or whichever movement Spencer is supporting this month
  3. You can't replace the feeling of physically turning the pages and hitting an "oh !" moment while holding the book in your hands, so I'll never go digital. Hey, we're OLD and the days of the spinner rack and plunking down a quarter for the latest issue of ASM are long gone, as is the continuity. At $4 or $5 a pop I'm less willing to take a chance on a book because given the current direction of Marvel there's a 90% chance that it will blow and I'd rather spend that money at Popeye's. I'm down to 3 steady Marvel titles a month because the writing has been exceptional: Thanos, Dr Strange and Moon Knight and I'll pick up anything with Adam Warlock in it just because. DC wise it's Mister Miracle and Batman, and whatever else Tom King decides to do.
  4. The Big Hero 6 cartoon series did nothing to revive the 1st appearances hype of those characters so probably not. In reality, if this board had the power to dictate the market like it did a couple years ago, sure.
  5. I call it as I see it, more enjoyable character and a better investment. Besides, Thanos #13 has a Cates writing which surpasses the idiocy of TT 12 and Dark Nights Metal as a whole. TT12 was hyped and hoarded right out of the gate, nobody saw the powerhouse of Thanos 13 coming until is was too late to stock up, aside from lenticulars Now go count the amount of your posts on your fingers and toes or bring something to the table besides your usual lack of expertise
  6. Shops around here were sold out by Wed night, nobody is ordering heavy on the title yet which is good for the aftermarket but makes it a chore to track down multiple copies
  7. Thanos 13-16 are going for over $100 for the 1st print set raw! Cosmic Ghost Rider > Batman Who Laughs easily!
  8. Not really. Menace #5 with the 1st Simon Garth Zombie turn up in decent shape for under $1k
  9. She is such a horrible actress, can only portray a drunk, junkie and a slut. I couldn't wait for her to get killed off in Breaking Bad! It was torture getting through Season 1, I'll just read the character appearance spoilers the day it airs and dig out any spec worthy books. Bring on Daredevil Season 3 and Punisher Season 2!
  10. That's one bad looking cover and I don't mean "Baaaaaaad" like it's good.
  11. It's called "making money off of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons"
  12. Or just get the best FF #1 you can find for the $6K. There's still always a chance of finding Hulk 181 and ASM 129 at a flea market or raw underpriced at a LCS
  13. I loved the trailer and after Deadpool, Logan and Legion I was really looking forward to another non-traditional mutant effort from Fox. I trust that they know what they're doing and upping the ante a bit more and I'm fine with waiting another year
  14. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic, especially the Madam Satan stories, should translate well with Netflix.
  15. However your 9.8's will never be worth near what you paid for them if the show sucks donkey balls like Preacher
  16. "Heating up" like a hot stone dropped in a puddle. I've given up on Marvel's ability to create any good new characters which aren't derivative
  17. Those last 2 episodes really pushed the barrier of what they could get away with = well done!
  18. Definitely one hell of a mind f*** of a show. Brilliant!
  19. Ditto that. No interest at all. Even going back to the 70's as a kid I have yet to read a Black Panther series which held my interest. Same goes for Hawkman, The Inhumans, it just certain characters are better as the D-list guest stars that they are
  20. Those 70's Marvel horror mags are tough in nigh grade, I did manage to get a sweet Vampire Tales #1 just before the price spike. Speaking of Satana, don't snooze on Marvel Premiere #27 - her first solo comic. They're cheap for now
  21. Tales Of The Zombie #1, Supernatural Thrillers #5, Marvel Spotlight #12, Dead Of Night #11. I can totally see a Netflix show based around the Bronze Age Marvel horror characters
  22. Strange Tales #181 - 1st FULL appearance of Gamora. 180 is just a cameo and her name isn't revealed until 181. The CGC label makers should really read the series
  23. Lemire's Thanos series was great and Cates picked up right where he left off and didn't skip a beat. Spec or not, it's one of the few Marvels I look forward to reading each month. Moon Knight and Dr Strange being the others
