Huge profit margin. He's greedy and stupid though. 46 bargain box quality signed Stan Lee forgeries all listed for auction simultaneously? Some selling for as little as $19.95? All it will take is one sale for him to be in a situation where every penny he's made will have to be spent and more on legal/criminal expenses. One sale. He's sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of forged pieces and his life will be turned upside down, made a living hell from one $19.95 sale! To someone he doesn't suspect is an investigator or the wife of one!! And if he were to stop cold today, and cap his pens, it wouldn't matter. His bad ink is already out there. The interstate mail fraud already committed! Who he sold to, for how much, and whether or not the books he bought were signed when he bought them, and where and when, Investigators will get his financial records quickly. Long statue of limitations on interstate mail fraud! He's laughing all the way to the bank now, but that laughter can turn to weeping and gnashing of teeth in a heartbeat. All it takes is one $19.95 sale!! And the rest of the junk he's peddled comes crashing down with that $19.95 sale!
I've been watching and documenting all of his sales for over a year! Fed it all, updating files I already sent, to the proper investigative agencies. Proven that his signatures are forgeries by sending authentication failure letters from services that I've paid (not much) to view his listings, so not just my opinion. Sent these investigators dozens of example of Stan Lee's handwriting from in-person signings at different periods! If and when they're ready to pull down the curtain on him and others I've done likewise, they already have a flying start that I have provided. For now, it's wait and see if the seeds take that I've planted and keep watering monthly.
It is a great job that you done. I would think Stan Lee's Company should be doing this. It is still a big corporation even though he is gone.

He had a few good books he mentioned or shown like X-Men Bryne run and Thor 337 run.

Oh my God, that comic collector guy was out of control - 30,000 comics. Complete run collector - you don't see that anymore. No Silver or Golden age comics. Are you kidding me? Wanted $1 per book for his modern drek and Dealer offered 25 cent per book. Best part of the episode was a trade of 3000 common modern books for a Hulk #181 signed by Len Wein. That was in 2012. The Hulk #181 looked really nice condition so worth quite a bit today. Lesson: Buy quality over quantity.

On Ebay, as a buyer, Ebay really protects the buyer. I have returned a bunch of books because of terrible overgrading and Ebay forces a return even if Seller says I have a no return policy. I love the free return prepaid labels. As seller, I would hate this because some buyers will abuse it.
On Ebay, as a seller selling raw books, I would take many good pictures and stand behind my grading and price according. You have to be willing to sit on your books until the right buyer comes along which could be months or years. If you give good value and good grading, I believe buyers will eventually find you. If you go via Ebay auctions, you are essentially blowing them out at wholesale. I see some big volume sellers going this route starting at $1 and getting whatever the market decides.

Almost time. How many entries do we have?

Interesting survey. For buyers, there are just so many choices these days: Ebay, cons, local comic store, dealer sites, etc. For sellers, it is so much harder. Ebay is still the market for most collectors. This is the biggest market and most sellers use these sales to base their prices. Of course, there are more headaches with endless fees. However, you still get the most eyeballs there. Action Comics #1 CGC 9.0 sold there for $3.2 million. I believe the Ebay fee was capped at $250 to $750 vs an auction house taking 10% to 25%. There are more options for sellers like facebook, instagram, forums, etc these days. For high end, sellers tend to go to Heritage, Comiclink, Comic-connect, etc. Problem is that everyone wants only the keys these days so selling common raw books is very difficult and dishearting. Mycomicshop seems to have a nice model for selling comic raw books. Personally, I find selling CGC slabs on Ebay the way to go. I rather sell a slab book for $50 to $100 then sell 10-20 raw books for $5 each. Problem with Ebay is that no one believes the raw grades because they are all over the place.

As you said, these books have done almost nothing in 10 years in terms of value. I think they are definitely underappreciated and are due for an upturn. I pick these issues up cheap whenever I see them, especially with speculated Modern stuff going for so much.

I own 98 out of the 100 but I have been collecting for a long time since I was 8 years old. Missed Avenging Spider-Man #9 and Dark Knight Returns #1 Foil Edition (do have the regular edition).

I don't know. This copy just sold for $349.95
All the CGC 9.8s have dried up for now. I am sure there are some at CGC getting graded now (I have some) but for now only a single $999 BIN.

Where's the Greggy box?

i sold my second Rai 0 CGC 9.8 for $260 so $390 for the pair was a good day especially since they both were not the rare kind. Not sure why it's so hot but it appears to have some legs since my second one sold a couple days after the huge buying spree.
Why have Rai 0 CGC 9.8 Regular Matte Versions doubled and triple from $100 to $200 to $300 in the last few days? I tried looking for news but have not found anything?

You get whatever you listed as the insurance value which is Max $200 for modern book.
-
Sorry about the books. Your ASM 25 is thick and heavy. The weight of the book during shifting has cause staple tears. THE DAMAGE IS IRREVERSIBLE even though you might be able to tap it back in place because the staple tear has already occurred.
-
Quite frankly, it makes no sense to destroy the books by taking the pages out. Just frame a signed comic. But they are your books so you can do whatever you like.

Update. Just got another batch of comics 25 books. No Shaken Comics Syndromes books but 4 cracked slabs thanks to UPS. Looks like a shipping problem that I having with UPS. My shipments were fine with FedEx and now no longer able to ship to California via FedEx due isssues CGC had with FedEx shipments.
-
It does not look like it was swapped out. The corners/posts would have severe and obvious signs of tampering. I have cracked many and resubmitted many books and always obvious. Do not take it out and sell it raw as that would void the grade. You can also email the photos and contact CGC directly with your concerns.

Amazing read. Every collector should read the court report. The most scary part is where CGC states that they could not tell where restoration and recreation starts because of the extensive work done on the books.

Need Help Reporting Fake Seller on Ebay

Maybe the group reporting to Ebay worked. I reported several auctions. I know they will pull "CGC IT" as keyword spamming if they get around to it.
