  1. GARY MARTIN has done recreations of both Frazetta and Wrightson and done AMAZING jobs on each. Not sure what his schedule is now, but he does take commissions.
  2. I immediately thought of this thread when I read the description on THIS WOLVERINE COVER posted to CAF today.
  3. What makes an A-Level PREACHER page? No fading like this. I have a couple of pages with large black areas, but ave no fading on them like this. However, I have scanned some that look horrible in the scan, but no detectable fading when held in hand. I'm wondering how true to life that scan is.
  4. So, if he drew the 22 page book traditionally, instead of digitally you would have bought one DPS. And if he had a 6 or 12 issue run you may have bought one or two other pages. I don't see how this would be to his benefit. Certainly there is a meme that says "Let it go, man", I just don't have time to look.
  5. I'm pretty sure all artists at this time are well aware of the pros & cons of each production method and have made the decision that works best for them. Would you change the way you approach your profession because it would make someone else happy?
  6. I don't normally do a "For Sale" post because I list new stuff almost every day. However, a friend of mine is in a bit of a bind and needs to raise some cash. He gave me 6 pages to list, and I just listed them. All are PRICED and AVAILABLE HERE. Or you can PM me here. All proceeds go directly to the owner of the pages. -Hulk and Power Pack #2, pg. 18 - $150. -Hulk and Power Pack #4, pg. 4 - $200. -Hulk and Power Pack #4, pg. 9 - $175. -Age of Sentry #6, pg 20 - $125. -Archie’s Superteens Versus Crusaders #1, pgs. 2&3 blueline/inks - $225. -Archie’s Superteens Versus Crusaders #1, pgs. 2&3 pencils - $175.
  7. "need" is imperative to the definition. You can't have a black hole collection if you're consistently putting stuff out there for sale to fund the next 'grail' Selling based on 'want' is different than selling based on 'need'. A black hole absorbs without restraint. It's the polar opposite of the "Grail today/Sale tomorrow" "collector"
  8. Not sure about that. Especially since he has his own website for selling OA. What any person does on their own website, how they manage it, is up to them. If CAF stood for ComicArtFantasy, my gallery would have some additional scans. But it doesn't. It is for sharing your collection. And a piece can't be "sold" AND in your collection at the same time.
  9. If the folder is inactive, you can have all you want. I have 10 inactive folders. They don't clog searches or create redundancies when someone is looking. Just came across a CAF that was updated in the last 24 hours. It's under a "collector"'s name, but he is a full on dealer with his own website. TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY pieces in his "SOLD" folder. Absolutely ridiculous!
  10. I don't consider myself a "Black Hole" collector*, but I have had some pages for 18+ years that if anyone were looking for them, highly unlikely with my "drekllection", They would be out of luck. Though they have been shown on CAF from time to time. *I don't fit my definition, which is someone that can buy and never has a need to sell.
  11. But what if it's "gone but not forgotten"? (Oh that irks me) CAF is for your collection. If it is in your collection, feel free to share if you choose. If it is not in your collection the jpg belongs in a folder on your computer. I have dozens of scans of art I don't own, but no one knows that because I don't post them to CAF
  12. You might as well just give up now. Your stuff sucks. Why even bother?
  13. Well, if it is new/newish money it will most likely make it to CAF. No trophy hunter will want to keep it hidden. At these prices I may join the one(+X) and done crowd myself.
  14. Yes, he did use marker on some of the larger black areas.
  15. Looks like a good buy on the SCALPED page. I would have paid a comparable price to the seller and saved him CLink fees if he had only asked
  16. Latest CLink auctions just closed. More softening of the market as PREACHER60pg23 barely fetched $7650 I think the odd coloration of PREACHER06pg05 may have held it back a bit at $1623. I'm guessing it's just a bad scan and not nearly as noticeable in person.
  17. As someone with no knowledge of the SPAWN market, the Violator03pg10 by Capullo seems decent at $1100
