  1. Okay, so should #0 or #1 be getting the big ¥ then???
  2. Ya, I enjoy reading it too. BUT, it starts to suck/becomes pointless when most of it is just cut and past from last weeks report. I know a lot of the titles stay the same, but you think he'd at least change the five word comment he has after each listing.
  3. Could you be more specific about the errors you found? My understanding was that Larry compiled information from a variety of sources including prior sales as well as how things were doing in his own store.....he then configured that into a list of things he believed in his opinion were worthy of watching or purchasing. I'm uncertain how that final opinion could be erroneous. Sort of like when we speculate here....some picks are wrong, others are right....but that hardly makes them errors of any kind. Not defending Larry, just curious what you found that was so off that it constitutes an error. Ya, to me, it seemed Lawrence's posts were more centered on what was selling at his store, with a bit of speculation thrown into the mix. And not necessarily what was getting big bucks, but more what was selling the most, or selling the quickest. (i.e. Selling tones of books at $6 per issue, or selling 30 of the same back issue in a week).
  4. You didn't think a 1:100 variant on a lower print book, that is a cool cover as well, would do well??? And it's always performed well. Don't think it's shooting up though. Was at like $60-$75 or so, then about $100. Went down to like $35-50. There were like 50 issues of the series. It was actually very good. One of my favourites once it got going.
  5. Are you selling??? If so, what condition?? I need one.
  6. LOVE the Wolverine:Origins Canadian Variant. SO cool. One of my most-wanted issues. Why I haven't gotten one yet, I don't know. ALMOST as good as in the issue of Wolverine where someone opens a case of money.....and it's a bunch of the red/pink Canadian fifties. hahhahaha.
  7. Hahahah! Ummm.....Morturi What Now??!!! Hahahah a
  8. Haha. Those wolverines aren't bad, but they have the most ridiculous new characters in them. Some mercenaries Deadpool has with him, the "best" being Vance Reebus, and Reckless Eric. Like really???! That's what they came up with? A guy tha just doesn't take care on what he's doing??? Hahaha.
  9. FINALLY!!! Not that I've even speculated on it much, but it's such a good series (even though it's hard to follow/keep track of characters/events/plot if you read it month to month).
  10. 1) What do you mean by "you really did not want to see this come out, but good job"??? 2) He was used as a logo, and in adds, so for some who take those type of things as "first appearances", one of those appearances might be of value. I would personally use Hip Flask #1 (Unnatural Selection) over the other things. "The character of Hip Flask first appeared in a number of advertisements for Comicraft comic book fonts in the late 1990s in which he was originally depicted as a private detective (this has since changed in the pages of his own comics). " I meant: Good job picking this comic as a speculation... It has been under wraps ! I agree the first Story or full appearence is Hip Flask #1 (Unnatural Selection) Cool. Ya, again, I'm at a lost as to why its not hotter.

  12. Same writer. Showtime is producing a show based on it. Its a great read full of comedic potential for the main character who dies all the time. I enjoyed it and I liked it better then Sixth Gun. They are changing the series somewhat though so who knows. Its about a guy caught between 3 fractions all wanting a book he has. None of them deserve what he has. Each of the groups has their own selfish desire for the book he had. That and he is cursed to be resurrected everytime he dies. I can see all types of dark humor from that. All the poor guy wants to do is take a permanant dirt nap. I had no problem selling my copies and kept a NM+ just in case. Damn Link 1/3 and 7/18's want the book for good. But 7/330 has his own devilish plans.
  13. ????The WHAT??? Did I miss something??? Or just forget something??? I swear I read it in the Avengers movie discussion last year. Made sense considering you never saw his body and he had been such an integral part of the saga leading up to the Avengers movie. Awesome.
  14. No. It wont. Well it should. it wont. people who read comics dont give a mess about agent coulson I mean...he's just a guy with a gun. Maybe he workouts out more than your average guy. He could probably bald you to death. Just a guy with a gun? So is the Punisher. A Gun? More like GunZZZZ. And a skull shirt, and boots. And no bald.

  17. That's what I love about one of my stores. For variants, they won't hold them for anyone (i.e. first come, first serve) BUT, they don't gouge. He'll add like a buck or something for every 10 extra issues he has to buy, or something like that. He just wants to make sure he's not losing any money, and maybe get a little bit extra. Variants range anywhere from $4-$12, depending on ratio. 1:10, 1:20 or 1:25 go for about $6-$7 at their highest. 1:50 and 1:100 go for about $12, sometimes $15. I was charged $50 for the Star Wars Sketch, and that's one of the highest prices I've seen in a while. When they charged more a couple years ago, they just ended up in the back issue box ($25 for a 1:25, $12 on a 1:10, when they'd have like 4 or 5 copies). There's another store that is ridiculous. He'll have like 1:15 at $15-$20, and they'll sit for years. Any high ratios, and ComiCon exclusives, they hit $50-$100 or more always. (this is also the place where I'm CERTAIN he holds back Image #1's, hot books (EVEN when you ask if he has any) on release day, then "walls" them the next week, and jacks the price to $15-$30 or more. Don't get me wrong I don't mind when they jack up the prices, they have to make a living too I understand that. Sounds like you have a sweet gig though there. But here is my problem with it, the Star Wars sketch variant was hitting say 150, they said they checked eBay. I'm fine with that, but if it drops to 100-130 well don't charge me 150. I'll just go buy it on eBay then, and give my money to some John Doe with a eBay account. If you are going to inflate your prices because a hot title is doing well on the secondary market, well deflate it when it's going back down. Just my two cents Very true. The thing I think that happens is, though, is that once the prices go down, they'll keep it at the higher price longer than is reasonable, but most customers won't buy it since they know it's inflated. THEY'RE the ones (sellers) that end up losing out. If anything, it just becomes frustrating for customers, who are like "man, when is this dork going to lower the price. I don't want to go to eBay for it, since it's right here in front of me, but I will if I have to." I think it's dumb more than anything, from a business sense, when the guys will hold on to this once amazing price for months or years after the fact. At some point, you just have to say, as a store owner " You know what, Gambit #1 Gold Variant just isn't worth $75 anymore", and adjust your prices. I just shake my head and wonder when I see owners who act like that.

  19. I posted the Declassified cover earlier, then took a nice long sh+t while reading Superman: Red Son again. I came back to my PC and went to my favorite online retailer to buy some and they were all gone. Before my movement one guy had 8 in NM for 1.00 each. Oh well. Hahahaha. "My Movement".
  20. Star Wars #1 Alex Ross Sketch Variant. How long should I hold it??? Got it for $50.
  21. Thanks! Very helpful! Didn't know about the questionable practices. Just figured CGC was seen as better because they're a bigger company, and they have the better "brand name/brand recognition", but wasn't sure of the actual product quality. Again, thanks!
  22. That was a steal if it was the eccc +1 BTW: WTH is up with all the PGX slabs....both selling and buying!? Does someone need an edumacation? I do. Not familiar with the difference (I know they are different companies obviously). I assume CGC is better, and would probably only buy CGC, but what is the low-down on PGX??? The search function exists for this kind of query. .......which turned up nothing on the boards. And, I appreciate the help. Thanks for being awesome. And yes, I know I can google it, and probably have in the past. I wanted to know the other guy's opinion up there, and what he was referring too.
