  1. I don't think you will get anywhere close to that amount. Isnt that why he said best offer? You probably aren't going to get to many offers if your BIN is totally unrealistic. Perhaps it is just me but I don't approach a BIN listing with the idea that I can buy the item for a 1/5 of the listed price. I think it works better if you have it listed at a not totally unrealistic price and then allow for best offers to indicate you allow for some wiggle room on the price. Agreed. If I saw $250, I'd feel that you'd be looking to get ~$220
  2. In a case like this, which comic would be the more valuable one, since the #0 isn't an "after the fact" issue: The #0??? or The #1???
  3. Googled this guy. TOTALLY not what I pictured Larry looking like. Is this the same Larry who made those racist comments a few years ago? Hahaha, ya, exactly what happened when I googled the guy.
  4. Googled this guy. TOTALLY not what I pictured Larry looking like. Is this the same Larry who made those racist comments a few years ago? Hahaha, ya, I came across those "jokes" he made as well yesterday. I LOVE the weekly report he does, but WOW..........
  5. Badlands has been pretty good. Some arcs more than others. Still don't know how they're allowed to publish it. Or how that was allowed in Canada, but they stopped allowing Black Kiss 2. Since Avatar stuff usually doesn't sell for high prices, or get hot, why's Über getting attention??? I pre- ordered on the strength of the solicits, but thought twice about getting multiples.
  6. he listed it as a variant because CGC labeled it as a variant. Look at the label in the pics. Weird. So CGC messed up then? That is the normal cover, isn't it??? Good catch. (thumbs u
  7. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Injustice-Gods-Among-Us-1-CGC-9-6-VARIANT-COVER-/181113853749?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2a2b3a1735#ht_238wt_885 1) Umm...the variant.... 2) Umm....da comic man tolded me that diamond wanteded their comic books back... .....What? Is this guy for real???
  8. because the movie is based on Alan Moore's Swamp Thing's American Gothic run. Which btw has not heated up at all - even though I have OA from the run. Bit off-topic, but since you mentioned Moore: Why is Watchmen #1 (or any for that matter), not worth much (have never seen HEAT on this) Does it have a huge print run??? Since it's been collected and printed so many times as a book??? Always wondered this. Watchmen #1 had tons of heat leading up to the Watchmen movie, but has been on a slow decline since then due to: a) it was a movie b) the census got flooded with copies You can still get $200 for a #1 in CGC 9.8 on a good day, so it's not like it's a dead book or anything - there just isn't enough demand to drive the price up further. a) A bad movie??? Really??? I thought it was one of the best comic movies. Deffinetly the MOST faithful to the source material. No stupid changes for no apparent reason (costumes, character back-story, let's show the actors face for the whole film just because, etc etc). b) I guess I'm surprised that the overall plateau price (i.e. the stabilized, regular average price) isn't higher for any of the issues, since it's arguably THE graphic novel/comic/most popular/most critically aclaimed, etc etc. Seem to see them at comic shows all the time for a very reasonable price.
  9. He offered his opinion on a LCS. Big deal? It's not what you say, it's how you say it. That wasn't the argument. The beef was apparently that someone said a shop was "awful". Who cares? There's this carpet shop in the UK called Carpet Right. AWFUL. I got my living room carpet from them and I reckon a monkey could have fitted it better. Loads of wrinkles up by the bay window. Is everyone offended yet? Google for their details so you can let them know what I think of their shop because they'll really care. And posting your opinion of a shop is slander*. *Obviously it isn't and not just cos slander involves the spoken word, not written. But this isn't a carpet forum. This is a comic book forum where professional comic book dealers are sometimes bad mouthed by other posters. Sometimes the criticism is fair and well argued, often it is ignorant, unfounded and malicious, and therefore unfairly damaging to someone's professional reputation. If you don't see the distinction then maybe you Are just another noob. One would hope that whoever takes advice from whatever Joe Shmoe who posts on a board tries to take a consesus of what people say, looks at the source of the info, does other research, etc, before making a concrete opinion on something/someplace/someone. I should have quoted when I was referring to it. It was an eBay link for Uber heating up. And I said I wouldn't buy from their eBay store because of how they handle their comics. I provided more details later and a few members said the store is a mess (when you move boxes you are afraid of some animal running out) later on in the thread. But a few days old. And my NM+ GotG #24 and #25 still haven't sold. I have them priced around $50 for the pair though. No no, I was talking about someone who read your opinion of the store (or any other opinions). I would hope that they wouldn't just read something, then go "O, this guy said it, therefore I'm not going to try out the store".
  10. The problem as I see it is that on each other has become the new norm for the modern boards. I remember back in the good old days (last year) when boardies generally got along and it was frowned upon to on each other within a thread. Now, in order to get a kernal of information in any thread, we have to wade through pages of matches, defensiveness and hurt feelings. Grow up, someone mocked your on a message board, get over it. Exactly. No clue who anyone is here in real life, don't really care. They don't know me either. No big deal if someone you don't know says something about you.

  12. Well.......there was that one recent movie........
  13. There needs to be a 'Moderns that are heating up on ebay! - No Discussion' thread. Links there, butthurt here. Just do what I do and use the ignore user function, it's great. Batman Adventures 12 continues to sell at higher prices. Yes I know the book is 20 years old and not exactly readily available, but it can be found for cheap in back issue stock both online and in your lcs. In what world?!? It has been YEARS since I found one anywhere that would be considered moderately cheap . Wish the shops around here had better back issue stock. Everything is either from the last 5 years or so, early 90's, and maybe a BIT of 80's (and a tad of 70's). And forget any key back issues from earlier than 2000.
  14. I go to Wade's a few times a week and his Phantom variants are COVER PRICE until the next issue comes out. That means you have a whole month to get your Revival Phantoms. Of course he's going to sell some on ebay to people who can't get them. Aren't you?? Hell, at least it's not the Ghost Variant shop in Philly that NO variant is cover price ever. See they still have a stack of WD 101 Ghosts for $20 a pop they've had since the day it came out. Wade's basement is a treasure trove the couple times a year he opens it up and blows out the books for a buck and unlike some shops he doesn't say "Can't let you have those Walking Dead's #53-70 for a buck even though they were in my buck area." Great shop, great people I've seen a Phantom variant on the shelf once. And that was #6 when they had all of them after asking. The original argument was the shop is disgusting. Look at the indie section. It is trashed. Chew is on the bottom shelf bent in half. Saga is priced different in every box. Yes they have stuff and you can find what you want eventually, but it is dirty. So saying most of the shipments won't be NM like everyone wants is the correct thing. Oh and the eBay box? It's just a bunch of shipping boxes behind the counter that they stack stuff in. Buy from their eBay if you want, but whatever. I won't give anyone a heads up again. Like I've said before, it should be a crime if you're working in a comic shop, and mess up the comics like that. I see some employees at places man-handle the comics, and I just shake my head. And on the shelves, if you can't buy shelving that isn't conducive to wreaking the comics, then maybe you shouldn't own a comic store.

  16. (thumbs u here's to hoping. You guys do realize, right, that these "extra" posts don't take away from the hot comics posts. If anything, it adds to the content of the site and makes it more interesting. It's not like these extra posts stop people from posting about hot comics. I mean, if you got rid of all the other stuff, all it would mean is more time between posts showing up on this site. Some of the extra stuff is interesting, some is boring or dumb. Doesn't affect me. I can read it or not. There's only so much that can be said about hot comics if there's not any different movement on a particular day, week, etc.

Ya, I tried getting them to carpet my place, but they had some policy regarding crossing the Atlantic, or something like that. Weird, eh?
  18. He offered his opinion on a LCS. Big deal? My local newsagents sucks. Does anyone want their name, address, phone number so you can let them know my opinion? Exactly. Don't get why that's bad. If they were better, then the guy would have a better opinion of them.
  19. Why is that wrong to say??? Is it a fact or not? If it is, then nothing wrong with that. If it isn't, well, then don't make stuff up, I guess.
  20. Googled this guy. TOTALLY not what I pictured Larry looking like.
  21. Great Thanos Cover! I only have 1. Weird they'd have him on this one, since he wasn't even in War of Kings.
  22. 25 should sell easily. 24 may take a bit. I've had success selling them together in the past. I think 24 will be able to stand on its own before too long. I completely agree about issue 24. It's funny to me that its the Thanos cover and not the variant for 25 that is prized. That doesn't happen to often. They are both prized by me . Thanos is one of my all-time favourites, and the Iron Man By Design covers are awesome.
  23. Got the Guardians Sketch for $10 yesterday. Funny though, the Gamora cover was priced at $10 as well. Was slightly pissed when I found out that the Thanos cover (best one by far!!!) was one of those weird phantom ones. At least it's cheap. How do retailers get those ones anyway??? The Phantoms, Larry's, etc??? And what excatly is the deal with them, like do stores get them commisioned for them or something???
  24. Nice. I get the Adventure Time variants for so cheap, sometimes cover. They seem to be abundant here, with many sitting on the shelves for quite a while.
  25. Value aside, Xmen Alpha is a great comic. Xmen Omega maybe one of the best issues I've ever read.
