  1. Yeah but V is more than just a meme. He is associated now with many activists. Anonymous being the most widely recognized and had been active for many years now
  2. Agree. But the fact that they used a mask that aligns with their movement as did the character in the comic/movie, is no pure coincidence. I would think that the character's actions, not just looks, influenced those parties
  3. Thanks, there are definitely many great points here. I think that for the most part, alot of the characters you have mentioned have been used in an instance or as a smaller movement. But it seems that with V, he seems to be depicted in more and more groups and even more so, he gets alot of news media attention. I cant tell you how many times Ive seen the by now popular Guy Fawkes mask (as depicted by David Lloyd) in news outlets on major networks and online. It begs the question, were all these activists influenced by the comic/movie, or Guy Fawkes himself. While one couldnt exist without the other, I cant remember Guy Fawkes making a comparable impact on any political movement previous to the comic (or better yet the movie as you mentioned)
  4. Watching the news on several channels in the past few weeks I kept on hearing the moderators referrals to V for Vendetta on several occasions. I always thought that the mask was Guy Fawkes but apparently these reporters didnt think so
  5. Short of him slugging hitler on comic book covers, I havent seen any political groups depicting nor borrowing images of him to symbolize their movement
  6. First - PLEASE - I implore you to not get into politics here. This is to question the impact of V, as a character, a symbol and a modern depiction of Guy Fawkes in our society today worldwide. Is it possible that Alan Moore and David Lloyd's creation and design have now become a TREMENDOUS influential force on our society? Has there ever been a comic book based character that has impacted us politically as much? Again, lets not get into politics. Just wanted to get your opinion on the above questions. Thanks!
  7. and thats not including amazon and craigslist btw
  8. at least 5x more than this based on existing inventory and FMV
  9. One just closed yesterday wanted to share as I know this may be a grail to some of you http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-Batman-4-Turner-German-Variant-ULTRA-RARE-9-8-W-Panini-Insert-/132295804131?hash=item1ecd71c4e3:g:O1oAAOSwyltZUBur
  10. Firstly thank you for your service second, have you seen this guy around your booth? Hope all is well, your brother, Awe
  11. As much as I hate to admit it I think that McFarlane has the best chance of becoming the next Stan Lee. Heck, if we were to compare net worth, he already is! https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/authors/stan-lee-net-worth/ https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-businessmen/producers/todd-mcfarlane-net-worth/ Furthermore Todd is a marketing genius. No one can deny his merch power. Just look at McFarlane toys. Heck he probably makes more money from toys than comics. If McFarlane had adapted Stan Lee's mentality in regards to all of Image's properties, he'd probably be a more known entity in comicdom than Stan is with today's readers
  12. Or better yet have them pressed (if you havent yet) then signed
  13. Walking Dead, 1st as the comic - then the show, single-handedly broadened the comic book reader demographic. Mainly with female readers. Something Marvel and DC have failed to do in many years of trying, at that magnitude, with any one given title.
  14. When you manage to successfully _count_ the amount of one UNCOMMON book in order to draw a comparison to other _uncommon_ books, you basically _demonstrate yourself_ how UNcommon that book truly is IN RELATION TO COMIC BOOKS AS A WHOLE
  15. Again. That's not common! this is common: come on!!
  16. Since when are u "everyone else" Nice try. Try again
  17. Stop right there. Comparison to other books is absolutely not relative to the word "common". AF15 is not a common book to find in the wild. Nor in most retail shops catering to comic book collectors. It is ONLY common within dealers who most likely spent a lot of time and money locating such a book BECAUSE it's not a common book to find
  18. Personally if I had a nice copy Id prolly try get Gerard to sign & slab. That would make such an item more desirable to both comic collectors and his music fans hence moving it up the niche bracket
