For a book that started a whole new trend in writing, was selling at a premium when it came out and influenced (at least) 1 very popular artist, and was as you mentioned a pretty damn good read, yeah... Plenty of reasons for it to be more important than a z class character appearing in a z class TV show among an ocean of insignificant optioned characters Sad that no one really cares about these things anymore tho

That book has so many reasons for collectors to pursue it, Maxwell Lord is not one of them

They also used to advertise heavily in comics in the early 80s. I think mostly w marvel comics. That's how I heard about their grab bags

I got many grab bags from them in the 80s. They would have them stacked high in a brown bag with only the top book exposed. The guy had them behind the counter and I would point to the one I wanted. I got an ASM129 from one of those bags once

I was actually shocked that the seller pitted me against a different buyer for that listing I just mentioned. I was positive he would take the offer for 40$ and was laughing my off when he said he has another buyer interested in the set and shot me an offer for $80. I told him thanks but no thanks. The next thing I knew it was sold for 75 within minutes after we last spoke

Elfquest books are selling pretty well. Elfquest #1 1st print are $50-75 (They were anywhere between $5-15) up until recently. This always baffled me; Does the original printing of this book (1974) have two variations, or is there a known printing error? One with the book's content printed normally (subscription coupon to the left of book) And one with the book's content printed upside down (subscription coupon to the right of book)

I kinda always liked this one. I think Im probably the only one that bought this title when it came out. Cant really say I enjoyed it other than appreciating the fact that it was sooooo off the wall for DC to publish it.

Wow. Never knew the GL76 had a DCU.. I would think that it could carry some value as the homage cover has quite a large fan base. Even if common, it probably would do well as a 9.8

Wouldn't it be cheaper to comission Todd to do a sketch instead
