  1. Accurate. That is how books of any format behave when a successful show or movie are launched. Never have they happened in reverse to that extent and that quickly
  2. Because there have never been any indie raw books selling for those numbers without having true collectible values. Because the R&M followers, as large as they are, are likely not comic book readers more than WD or GOT followers are Because the shills are blatantly in your face add the three together and you can make your own analisys about said book
  3. Since when does someone has to know about a property in order to understand and analyze market trends???? I don't know about the show so I don't have the right to speak? where what.. what year is this?!?!?
  4. Yet there are people out there that think that the hype behind the R&M comic is organic
  5. R&M 1:50 variant RAW brings 1500-2000$ consistently WD 1 RAW brings 1400-2000 consistently (probably less) no other #1 indie modern books bring those numbers consistently tell me why I shouldn't compare the two
  6. Post TV show obviously as far as prices. And it certainly isn't based on a comic. So there's really no way to compare the two. The prices however suggest that we should. thats the problem I'm having w understanding this market behavior
  7. The series premiered in '13. The comic in '15. How is this based on a comic?
  8. Stop R&M is good but I don't care how much u love it or how many ways u can try to convince others to believe it's huge it ain't walking dead. And it ain't even close. Period. End of story. The prices however are
  9. These are walking dead prices minus the ratings minus 1st appearance minus the following minus pretty much anything that walking dead accomplished as a book that this book hasn't. As you can see, one can be very suspicious of such hype through sales, regardless of those being shilled or not
  10. For the millionth time.. No one is saying that its not hot. Were just debating the cause of inflation. Wouldnt you like to know if the industry you trade in is inflating prices based on fraud. Would you continue to engage in it keeping a blind eye had you known for a fact that there are scammers on the market causing market manipulation? Do you think that if this happens with many other titles someone wouldnt question it sooner or later? What would be the effect of such a scandal on your business?
  11. We can definitely assume that. Show me another modern book based on an animated series that has exploded the way this book did for months now. Theres no first appearance here, no real collectible attributes to that book other than pure high market sales for no reason, backed by proved shills.
  12. Again. R&M is hot. There's no mistaking that. But you can clearly see by jaydogs examples that it was shilled. That, and the fact that a modern comic book based on a modern cartoon show is fetching those high numbers make me seriously question the behavior of that book in the market
  13. No one is arguing that R&M comics are hot at the moment.
  14. No one is arguing that R&M comics are hot at the moment.
  15. Just hypothetically speaking here. The shills could be done on ANY title. If the powers that be recognized the power in price manipulation and its effect on a certain property's popularity I can even see how a PR assigned to said property would exploit it HEAVILY on eBay. Think about it. Money that you spend on promiting a cartoon show, a toy, or a comic for that matter, spent on hyping a book that's associated with the product on eBay is money well spent. in that instance, eBay is functioning as a social media platform to the thousands (tens of thousands?) comic book collectors who frequent it daily and are amazed by R&Ms popularity as a hot commodity. Thats great exposure to the show. This type of market manipulation happens often with music and digital downloads. DIY PR companies will buy their own music, elevating their songs to the top of the charts and creating positive awareness this way.
  16. I didn't look closely at the bidders. If that is correct that's just insane. It would be interesting to study the activity of other R&M books as they are doing quite well as well. at this point this is really the only logical explanation for the price hike on this book
  17. If you're a R&M fan _PLEASE_ don't take this personal. I never heard of them in my life. Never watched the show.. I've heard of Simpsons, South Park, futurama, family guy. You know. The real BIG shows. That cover is hurrendous. I've heard of people buy books because of rarity. But this amount of money for that cover is mental. It defies anything that happens in the market right now. And I don't think that this will go away, R&M comics have been hot for months now and they're not slowing down. So again, I'm not a hater, I just cannot explain this
  18. They all have different buyers. Amazon buyers are not the same as ebay buyers, same with FB/IG vs eBay vs Amazon Again, eBay is just KNOWN to collectors as the number one shop for comics. Readers will likely go with Amazon. FB/IG...? Still too early to call who these guys are.. I think that IG is just alot of fun when you have nice clean feed of comic enthusiasts on it...
  19. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Rick+and+Morty+%231&_sop=16&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=63&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=Rick+and+Morty+%231&_sacat=63 I have no words for this. Just never seen anything like that in any modern market
  20. I know, he even talks about SW #6 in more length! Gotta love the innocence in this
