  1. I'm with you. None of my books are slabbed. I will likely submit them and sell them at some point, and just leave the cash to the kids. As far as the census goes, it's all relative. Relatively speaking, Action 2-5 appear to be extremely limited in supply.
  2. The Internet is definitely an almost all you can eat 24 hour buffet. I was just thinking about getting out to a hardcore comic con in the next year or so. I'll look into Terry's (I'm in LA a couple of times a year already). Is the Baltimore show you mentioned just called Baltimore Comic Con?
  3. Is there a consensus on what is currently the undisputed top convention for buying and selling gold and silver comics?
  4. Looking on the census, #2, 4 and 5 have 19 universal each. Number 3 has 14. It just amazes me how few (unrestored/unqualified) copies of these monumental issues have been submitted.
  5. Planet 34 holds a special place in my heart. In the late 70's I bought a copy at the flea market for under a dollar. One of my first golden age books.
  6. I couldn't even guess how much that 9.6 might go for today.
  7. Thanks! Good to know I wasn't the only one it was eluding.
  8. Not in my top ten as far as Hitler covers go, but definitely difficult to acquire (for me). I had never even seen one in person until I bought this one last week.
  9. Well, I missed the exact anniversary of starting this thread, but better late than never. This may not be the best Hitler cover, but it has been the most difficult to find (for me). I've had pretty much all the golden age Harvey superhero books over the years, but I have never even actually seen this one in person. That's why I bought it when I had the chance. Heritage has sold two raw copies (one good, one fair/good) in its history. The CGC census lists 5 universal copies. One 9.6 (the Mile High, sold by CC in 2012 for $7,000), 2 at 5.0, 1 at 4.5, 1 at 1.5. So this original owner copy might be the second highest if I sent it in. Just something about the Kirby Captain Freedom (and Hitler) cover. Always wanted one.
  10. Thanks. Hoping for today! (going away on vacation tomorrow).
  11. I don't know if I've posted this in this thread previously. I posted it in the L.B. Cole cover thread earlier today. Kind of recent for this thread, but I was curious how many were on the census. Four copies, none higher than a 4.5.
  12. thanks! i bought it in a stack of 50's sci-fi and horror a few years ago.
  13. if i sent it in i'd be happy with an 8.5 (or higher, lol). somewhat okay with an 8.0. disappointed with anything lower.
  14. I posted it a few years ago in (i think) a different thread, and got quite a few!
