  1. mine has amateur resto as well. never seriously considered having it removed. happy to have the book, it's one of my all time favorites.
  2. Yup. Unless my kids take a sudden interest in owning any of my books, once I decide to sell, they are all going to go.
  3. It was a whole huge warehouse. Crazy accumulation of comics.
  4. Ahhh. Makes sense. Ran into Dolgoff at Bell's place. No Kochs though, lol.
  5. And I knew him to be from Hauppauge, NY, then here in South Florida. No MA or Brooklyn connection that I knew of. I'm from Brooklyn, so I'd remember that
  6. I think he eventually sold most or all of them (I wish I had bought every single one of them). So they are in some very happy collectors' collections, most likely.
  7. I saw a bunch of high grade Daredevil 1s and Silver Streak 6s at Robert Bells. I don't remember where he said he got them.
  8. If I had to guess, he actually is still alive! And he thaws out in the story!
  9. I met him for the first time at NYCC as well. November, 1999.
  10. Human Torch 12 was my first golden age book. With World's Finest 9 from Jay at Sparkle City at Phil Seuling's convention in New York in 1978.
  11. Good luck all! When does the first batch start to close?
  12. It is, but the ones in my second five (AS 3, MF 52, MF 55, AA 16, AMF 2/7) could have made the first five, plus many others (lots of other issues of Funny Pages, Amazing Mystery Funnies, Funny Picture Stories, various Timelys and DCs). My faves are fluid!
  13. very often (it seems) the buyer's premium puts it over my top price!
  14. Rest in peace Mr. Disbrow. Thanks for all the great work.
  15. have i mentioned recently how much i hate a buyer's premium when i'm bidding on something?
  16. The other thread was top 5! The AMF 2/7 makes the second five because seeing the cover in color in the OPG #5 or 6 is what started my love affair with Centaurs.
